Claims (12)
- 対話型ディスプレイ装置と共に使用するための対話型スタイラスであって、当該対話型スタイラスは、
第1の端部を有するスタイラス本体であって、前記第1の端部は、ユーザによって操作され、第1の機能及び第2の機能を提供するように構成される、スタイラス本体と、
前記第1の端部と前記対話型ディスプレイ装置の電極マトリックスとを容量結合させるように、前記第1の端部を駆動させるように構成されたコントローラであって、前記容量結合は前記第1の機能に関連し、前記第2の機能は、明示的なユーザ入力なしに、前記第1の機能を使用するユーザの意図を自動的に感知することに応じて、無効にされる、コントローラと、を有する、
対話型スタイラス。 - 前記スタイラス本体に含まれ、且つ前記第2の機能に関連する触覚アクチュエータをさらに有し、前記第2の機能を無効にすることは、前記触覚アクチュエータの動作を阻止することを含む、請求項1に記載の対話型スタイラス。
- 前記第2の機能は、前記対話型ディスプレイ装置上でのアプリケーションの起動であり、そのような起動機能は、明示的なユーザ入力なしに、前記第1の機能を使用するユーザの意図を自動的に感知することに応じて、無効にされる、請求項1に記載の対話型スタイラス。
- 前記第2の機能に関連する機械式アクチュエータをさらに有し、前記機械式アクチュエータの動作が、明示的なユーザ入力なしに、前記第1の機能を使用するユーザの意図を自動的に感知することに応じて、少なくとも部分的に無効にされる、請求項1に記載の対話型スタイラス。
- 前記第1の機能は、前記第1の端部が、前記対話型ディスプレイ装置において消去機能を提供するように前記電極マトリックスに容量結合される消去モードである、請求項1に記載の対話型スタイラス。
- 前記スタイラス本体は、描画モードを提供するように構成された第2の端部をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の対話型スタイラス。
- 前記第1の機能を使用するユーザの意図を自動的に感知することは、前記対話型スタイラスの前記対話型ディスプレイ装置への近接度に基づく、請求項1に記載の対話型スタイラス。
- 前記近接度は、前記対話型ディスプレイ装置と前記対話型スタイラスとの間の容量結合による信号の強度に基づいて感知される、請求項7に記載の対話型スタイラス。
- 対話型ディスプレイ装置と共に使用するための対話型スタイラスを動作させる方法であって、当該方法は、
前記対話型スタイラスの本体の第1の端部と前記対話型ディスプレイ装置の電極マトリックスとを容量結合させるように、前記第1の端部を駆動させるステップであって、前記容量結合は第1の機能に関連する、駆動させるステップと、
明示的なユーザ入力なしに、前記第1の機能を使用するユーザの意図を自動的に感知することに応じて、前記第1の端部に関連する第2の機能を無効にするステップと、を含む、
方法。 - 前記第2の機能を無効にするステップは、前記対話型ディスプレイ装置上でのアプリケーション起動を阻止するステップ、又は前記対話型スタイラスにおける触覚フィードバック生成を抑制するステップを含む、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記触覚フィードバック生成は、触覚アクチュエータによる振動発生及び機械式アクチュエータの押圧の少なくとも一方を含む、請求項10に記載の方法。
- 明示的なユーザ入力なしに、前記第1の機能を使用するユーザの意図を自動的に感知することは、前記第1の端部に含まれる第1の電極と前記電極マトリックス内に含まれる第2の電極との間の容量結合による信号の強度に基づく、請求項9に記載の方法。
