Description
前記搬送手段により、前記気体衝突装置の下で前記気体衝突領域を通るように濡れ面を含む記録基材のシートを搬送するステップと、
40m/s〜90m/s、好ましくは50m/s〜85m/s、より好ましくは60m/s〜80m/sの気体速度で前記記録基材の濡れ面に気体を衝突させるステップとを含む。
α=arctan(drow/(1.5×dstitch))=arctan(1/3×√3)=30°
図4Bは気体出口の入れ子状の正方形のパターンの概略図を示す。この構成のために、上述したものと同様の計算を行うことができる。第1の列40’への気体出口44’の突出はx方向の距離がここでも1.5dstitchに等しいことを示し、第2の列の各気体出口は第1の列及び第3の列内で隣り合う気体出口に形成される正方形の中心に位置しているため、2つの隣り合う列(ここでは第1の列40’及び第2の列41’を示す)間の距離drowは0.5×dstitchに等しい。そして、斜角αの上限は下記のように算出できる。
α=arctan(drow/(1.5×dstitch))=arctan(1/3)=18.4°
あるいは、正方形のパターンの場合(図示せず)、斜角の上限は正方形のベースリブ(base rib)を有する4つの気体出口によって形成される正方形の対角線の角度により定義され、該角度は定義上45°である。
Claims (15)
- 中空体と、該中空体に流体接続された気体入口と、第1の軸及び該第1の軸に実質的に垂直な第2の軸を有する第1の面とを含む気体衝突装置であって、
前記第1の面は、それぞれが直径doutletを有するとともに前記中空体に流体接続された複数の気体出口を備え、
前記複数の気体出口はパターン状に配列され、該パターンは、第2の方向に広がるとともにそれぞれが前記複数の気体出口の一部を含む実質的に平行な複数の列を含み、前記複数の気体出口は前記第1の面に亘って実質的に均等に分布され、前記複数の列のそれぞれの前記複数の気体出口の一部は等距離ステッチdstitchで配置され、
前記第2の方向は前記第1の面の第1の軸に対して角度α(但し、α≧arctan(doutlet/dstitch))で配置され、
動作中、印刷基材のシートは、該印刷基材の端部が前記第1の面の第1の軸と実質的に平行になるように第1の方向に搬送される、気体衝突装置。 - 前記複数の気体出口の前記パターンは、前記複数の気体出口の第1の一部を含む第1の列と、前記複数の気体出口の第2の一部を含む第2の列とを含み、
前記第1の列は前記第2の方向に広がるとともに前記第2の列は前記第1の列と実質的に平行であり、
前記第1の列と前記第2の列とは距離drowで配置され、
前記第2の列に含まれる気体出口の前記第2の一部は前記第1の列に含まれる気体出口の前記第1の一部に対してx×dstitch(但し、0≦x<1、α≦arctan(drow/((1+x)×dstitch))だけ第2の方向にシフトされている、請求項1に記載の気体衝突装置。 - drow=y×dstitch(但し、0<y≦1、drow>doutlet)である、請求項2に記載の気体衝突装置。
- x=0.5であり、y=0.5×√3である、請求項4に記載の気体衝突装置。
- x=0.5であり、y=0.5である、請求項4に記載の気体衝突装置。
- x=0であり、y=1である、請求項4に記載の気体衝突装置。
- doutletの範囲は0.5mm〜6mmである、請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の気体衝突装置。
- dstitchの範囲は2mm〜50mmである、請求項5乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の気体衝突装置。
- 複数の気体出口を備える前記面は複数のオリフィスを含むプレートを含む、請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載の気体衝突装置。
- 請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の気体衝突装置と、該気体衝突装置の下で気体衝突領域を通るように記録基材を搬送するための搬送手段とを含む記録基材処理装置。
- 請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の気体衝突装置を含む印刷装置。
- 請求項10に記載の記録基材処理装置を含む印刷装置。
- 前記印刷装置はイメージング装置をさらに含む、請求項11又は12に記載の印刷装置。
- 請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の気体衝突装置と、該気体衝突装置の下で気体衝突領域を通るように記録基材のシートを搬送するための搬送手段とを含む記録基材処理装置を用いて濡れ面を含む記録媒体を乾燥する方法であって、当該方法は、
前記搬送手段により、前記気体衝突装置の下で前記気体衝突領域を通るように濡れ面を含む記録基材のシートを搬送するステップと、
40m/s〜90m/sの気体速度で前記記録基材の濡れ面に気体を衝突させるステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記記録基材処理装置は加熱装置をさらに含み、
前記方法は前記気体を衝突させるステップの前に前記記録基材を加熱するステップをさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
