Abstract
Description
(a) 揮発性固形分(VS)中の全元素状窒素(N)含量または1種以上の原材料の炭素対窒素(C/N)モル比を決定し、
(b) 第2反応器の内容物の全元素状窒素含量もしくは全アンモニア性窒素含量またはC/Nモル比を決定し、
原材料のC/Nモル比が15未満であるか、または原材料のVS中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40gを超える場合、原材料は窒素富化状態であり、
原材料のC/Nモル比が15を超える場合、または原材料の揮発性固形分中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40g未満である場合、原材料は炭素富化状態であり、
反応器内容物中のC/Nモル比が5.0〜12であるか、または反応器内容物中の全アンモニア性窒素量が0.1〜2.5 g/Lであるか、または反応器内容物中の全元素状窒素量が0.3〜2.8 g/Lである場合、第2反応器内の窒素状態は最適であり、
(c) ステップ(a)またはステップ(b)における窒素状態判定により、原料が窒素富化と判定された場合、または第2反応器内でC/Nモル比が最適値を下回るか、または全アンモニア性または元素状窒素が最適含量を上回ると判定された場合、第1反応器内の窒素富化原料を少なくとも1種類のアンモニア生成微生物種で処理し、アンモニア発酵残渣を生成させ、
アンモニア発酵残渣は第1反応器に由来する発酵残渣であって、反応器内では、原料の全元素状窒素の好ましくは50%以上がアンモニアに変換されるまで、原料のアンモニア化が進行しており、
(d) アンモニア発酵残渣を第1反応器から脱窒システムへ移送し、
(e) 脱窒システム中のアンモニア発酵残渣を処理してアンモニア低減化発酵残渣を生成させ、
アンモニア低減化発酵残渣は、脱窒システムに通されることでアンモニア性窒素の少なくとも80%が除去されており、
(f) アンモニア低減化発酵残渣を脱窒システムから第2反応器へ移送し、
(g) ステップ(a)における窒素状態判定で原料が炭素富化と判定された場合、炭素富化原料を第2反応器へ直接移送し、
(h) ステップ(b)における窒素状態判定により、第2反応器内でC/Nモル比が最適値を上回るか、または全アンモニア性または元素状窒素が最適含量を下回ると判定された場合、窒素富化原料を第2反応器へ直接移送することを含み、
本プロセスは更に、
(i) 第2反応器内で、少なくとも1種類のメタン生成微生物種を用いて上記移送された原料からバイオガスを発生させ、
(j) 脱窒後のアンモニア低減化発酵残渣の窒素状態を判定し、脱窒システムの効率と第2反応器へアンモニア低減化発酵残渣の流入とを調節することを含む。
(i) 第2反応器にアンモニア性窒素を添加するステップと、
(ii) 第2反応器内で窒素富化原料と炭素富化原料とを共消化するステップと、
(iii) アンモニア化または脱窒を実行することなく窒素富化原料を第2反応器へ直接移送するステップと、
(iv) 脱窒システムの効率を調節し、第2反応器へのアンモニア低減化発酵残渣の流入を調節することにより、アンモニア低減化発酵残渣中の全アンモニア性窒素濃度または全元素状窒素濃度を高めるステップのうちの1つ以上を実行することで、窒素を第2反応器へ供給する。
次に、VS 1 kg当たり60g超の単糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン類または発酵性食物繊維を含む窒素富化原料を第1反応器へ移送し、予備アンモニア化された原料と共に連続アンモニア化を行う。
アンモニア化を実行してアンモニア発酵残渣を生成させるための原料処理用第1反応器と、
アンモニア発酵残渣からアンモニア低減化発酵残渣を生成させる脱窒システムと、
アンモニア低減化発酵残渣からバイオガスを生成させるための第2反応器と、
第1反応器へ様々なタイプの原料を個別に移送する手段と、
アンモニア発酵残渣を第1反応器から脱窒システムへ移送する手段と、
アンモニア低減化発酵残渣を脱窒システムから第2反応器へ移送する手段と、
原料またはアンモニア性窒素を第2反応器へ直接移送する手段とを備える。
揮発性固形分中の全元素状窒素含量または原料中の炭素対窒素モル比を決定する第1測定システムと、
脱窒後のアンモニア低減化発酵残渣中の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を決定する第2測定システムと、
第2反応器の内容物中の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を決定する第3測定システムと、
窒素富化原料、炭素富化原料または揮発性固形分1 kg当たり60g超の単糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン類または発酵性食物繊維を含む窒素富化原料の第1または第2反応器内における分布を調節し、第2反応器内の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を最適範囲内に保つ手段と、
第2および第3測定システムの測定データに基づき、脱窒システムの効率および第2反応器へのアンモニア低減化発酵残渣の流入を調節し、第2反応器内の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を最適範囲内に維持する手段とを用いて制御される。
原材料のC/Nモル比が15未満であるか、または原材料のVS中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40gを超える場合、原材料は窒素富化状態であり、
原材料のC/Nモル比が15を超える場合、または原材料の揮発性固形分中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40g未満である場合、原材料は炭素富化状態であり、
C/Nモル比が5.0〜12であるか、または全アンモニア性窒素量が0.1〜2.5 g/Lであるか、または全元素状窒素量が0.3〜2.8 g/Lである場合、第2反応器内の窒素状態は最適である。
図3において、参照番号1はアンモニア生成混合微生物群集S1を培養する容器を示す。このアンモニア生成集団は、アンモニア化の実行に有効と考えられている別のタイプの微生物集団あるいは単一微生物種の集団から成るものであってもよい。容器1から得られる集団、群集または培養物は、第1嫌気性消化槽または反応器4内への接種源として用いられる。ここで、接種源は給送ポンプまたは給送装置2を用いて投入される。あるいは、第1消化槽または反応器4の内容物は、原料の新しいバッチへの接種源として用いることもできる。あるいは、接種源を本発明のプロセスの一部として培養する必要はなく、その原料そのもの(接種源を加える必要はない)からアンモニア生成集団が産生してもよい。接種源はまた、本発明のプロセスの外部の施設で生産され、そこから直接に第1反応器へ移送されてもよい。接種源の量は、反応器内容物の総体積の少なくとも2.5%(体積比)である。あるいは、接種源はバイオフィルムとして固体担体材料上に設け、これを第1消化槽または反応器4の内部に配置してもよい。プロセスに供する原料はその組成に基づき、図1を参照しながら説明したスキームに従って仕分けされる。この仕訳プロセスは、図3では原料仕分けシステム31および導管3A、3Bおよび3Cで示され、これらを通って原材料がプロセスの消化槽または反応器に移送される。原料仕分けシステム31は、プロセスに投入される各原料用の容器と、原料をその窒素状態に応じて導管3A、3Bまたは3Cへ振り分けるためのコンピュータ制御式バルブ等の手段と、第2消化槽または反応器14を備える。窒素富化原料は導管3Aを通って第1消化槽または反応器4へ投入される。導管3Bは、VS 1 kg当たり60g未満の単糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン類または発酵性食物繊維を含む窒素富化原料を予備アンモニア化し、これを導管3Aを通じて第1消化槽または反応器4へ投入した後に、VS 1 kg当たり60gを超える量の単糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン類または発酵性食物繊維を含む窒素富化原料を第1消化槽または反応器4へ投入する際に用いられる。2種類の原料を立て続けに消化槽または反応器4へ投入する場合には、導管3Aと3Bとを1本の導管に置き換えてもよい。第1消化槽または反応器4への投入前に、原料に対してレンダリング、熱加水分解、熱処理または他の何らかの方法による前処理を行ってもよく、これにより例えば消化性を向上させ、衛生化を達成し、または脂肪等の成分を抽出する。消化中は、消化槽の内容物を装置5で攪拌する。攪拌はインペラ、スパージャ、水中ポンプその他の装置を用い、適用可能なあらゆる方法により行われてよい。アンモニア化は嫌気性条件下、30℃〜40℃の中温性領域、または45℃〜60℃の好熱性領域で行われる。
食品廃棄物(FW)、ブタおよびウシの屠場副産物(PB)およびブロイラー鶏屠場副産物(BC)を用いた実験結果を表2に示す。食品廃棄物のC/Nモル比は約14である。これは、窒素富化ではあるが、単独原料として用いる場合にも酸生成を誘導しアンモニア化を阻害するに十分量の発酵可能な炭素系化合物をまだ含んでいる。動物屠場副産物のC/Nモル比は10未満であり、若干の炭水化物を含んでいる。実験結果によれば、窒素富化材料の予備アンモニア化と、食品廃棄物のアンモニア化を行うことにより、食品廃棄物を単独原料として消化した場合またはこれを窒素富化材料と混合して共消化した場合と比べて、収量の大幅な改善がみられた。PB 40%−FW 60%混合物の共消化では、収量は20%未満であった。しかし、予備アンモニア化を行うと、わずか20%のPBで50%超の収量が達成された。このような原材料の違いはBCを用いた場合にもみられたが、食品廃棄物のアンモニア化を補助する効果はPBほど大きくはなかった。しかし、予備アンモニア化の効果は保たれていた。共消化では約50%の収量を達成するのにBC 80%を要したが、予備アンモニア化であれば同等の収量を達成するのにBC 40%で十分であった。
本発明のシステムでは、バイオガス化消化槽の窒素濃度を最適レベルに保つため、原料をその組成に応じて仕分けし、選択的に脱窒に供する。炭素富化原料と窒素富化原料とを仕分けし、過剰の窒素を(1)アンモニア化後、バイオガス化を行う前にストリッピングを行うか、または(2)バイオガス化後に廃水をストリッピングする方法のいずれかによって除去するバイオガスプラントについて、バイオガス化反応器の窒素濃度をモデリングするための計算モデルを作成した。
混合する。新鮮水は窒素を含まないものと考える。
エアストリッピングによるアンモニア除去は、pHと温度に依存する。pHを上昇させると、アンモニウム塩/アンモニア平衡を気化し易い遊離アンモニア側へ偏らせることができる。アンモニウムイオン(NH4 +)は、アンモニア(NH3)に対して次式で表される平衡を保ちながら存在する。
本発明のシステム(すなわち、「ドゥクトルプロセス」)がバイオガス生産にもたらすメリットをパイロットスケールシステムで実証した。2基のバイオガス反応器(40 L容)を並列し、好熱性条件下で58日間、下記の材料を用いて運転した。すなわち、
A)アンモニア化原料およびアンモニア除去原料(ドゥクトルプロセス)、または
B)未処理原料(従来プロセス)。

Claims (16)
- 1種以上の原材料からのバイオガス生成を最適化するプロセスであって、該バイオガス生成は少なくとも第2反応器内で行われ、該プロセスは、
(a) 揮発性固形分(VS)中の全元素状窒素(N)含量または前記1種以上の原材料の炭素対窒素(C/N)モル比を決定し、
(b) 第2反応器の内容物の全元素状窒素含量もしくは全アンモニア性窒素含量またはC/Nモル比を決定し、
前記原材料のC/Nモル比が15未満であるか、または該原材料のVS中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40gを超える場合、該原材料は窒素富化状態であり、
前記原材料のC/Nモル比が15を超える場合、または該原材料の揮発性固形分中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40g未満である場合、該原材料は炭素富化状態であり、
反応器内容物中のC/Nモル比が5.0〜12であるか、または反応器内容物中の全アンモニア性窒素量が0.1〜2.5 g/Lであるか、または反応器内容物中の全元素状窒素量が0.3〜2.8 g/Lである場合、第2反応器内の窒素状態は最適であり、
(c) ステップ(a)またはステップ(b)における前記窒素状態判定により、前記原料が窒素富化と判定された場合、または第2反応器内でC/Nモル比が最適値を下回るか、または全アンモニア性もしくは元素状窒素が最適含量を上回ると判定された場合、第1反応器内の該窒素富化原料を少なくとも1種類のアンモニア生成微生物種で処理し、アンモニア発酵残渣を生成させ、
アンモニア発酵残渣は第1反応器に由来する発酵残渣であって、該反応器内では、前記原料の全元素状窒素の好ましくは50%以上がアンモニアに変換されるまで、該原料のアンモニア化が進行しており、
(d) 前記アンモニア発酵残渣を第1反応器から脱窒システムへ移送し、
(e) 前記脱窒システム中の前記アンモニア発酵残渣を処理してアンモニア低減化発酵残渣を生成させ、
アンモニア低減化発酵残渣は、前記脱窒システムに通されることでアンモニア性窒素の少なくとも80%が除去されており、
(f) 前記アンモニア低減化発酵残渣を前記脱窒システムから第2反応器へ移送し、
(g) ステップ(a)における前記窒素状態判定で前記原料が炭素富化と判定された場合、該炭素富化原料を第2反応器へ直接移送し、
(h) ステップ(b)における前記窒素状態判定により、第2反応器内でC/Nモル比が最適値を上回るか、または全アンモニア性もしくは元素状窒素が最適含量を下回ると判定された場合、該窒素富化原料を第2反応器へ直接移送することを含み、
該プロセスは更に、
(i) 第2反応器内で、少なくとも1種類のメタン生成微生物種を用いて前記移送された原料からバイオガスを発生させ、
(j) 脱窒後の前記アンモニア低減化発酵残渣の窒素状態を判定し、前記脱窒システムの効率と第2反応器へアンモニア低減化発酵残渣の流入とを調節することを含むことを特徴とする1種以上の原材料からのバイオガス生成を最適化するプロセス。 - 請求項1に記載のプロセスにおいて、
第2反応器の内容物のC/Nモル比が最適範囲を超えているか、または第2反応器の内容物の全元素状もしくはアンモニア性窒素含量が最適範囲を下回っている場合、
第2反応器にアンモニア性窒素を添加するステップと、
第2反応器内で窒素富化原料と炭素富化原料とを共消化するステップと、
アンモニア化または脱窒を実行することなく窒素富化原料を第2反応器へ直接移送するステップと、
脱窒システムの効率を調節し、第2反応器へのアンモニア低減化発酵残渣の流入を調節することにより、前記アンモニア低減化発酵残渣中の全アンモニア性窒素濃度または全元素状窒素濃度を高めるステップのうちの1つ以上を実行することで、窒素を第2反応器へ供給することを特徴とするプロセス。 - 請求項1または2に記載のプロセスにおいて、前記原材料は、第1反応器内で該原料中の全元素状窒素の50%以上がアンモニアに変換されるまで処理することを特徴とするプロセス。
- 前記請求項のいずれかに記載のプロセスにおいて、前記少なくとも1種類のアンモニア生成微生物種は、CBS受託番号136063にて寄託されたアンモニア生成混合微生物群集S1であることを特徴とするプロセス。
- 前記請求項のいずれかに記載のプロセスにおいて、前記脱窒プロセスは、アンモニアをアンモニア水またはアンモニウム塩として回収することを含むことを特徴とするプロセス。
- 前記請求項のいずれかに記載のプロセスにおいて、該プロセスは更に、前記アンモニア発酵残渣を前記脱窒システムへ投入する前に、その中に含まれる固形分を減少させることを含むことを特徴とするプロセス。
- 請求項6に記載のプロセスにおいて、該プロセスは更に、前記アンモニア発酵残渣から除去された前記固形分を第2反応器へ直接投入することを含むことを特徴とするプロセス。
- 請求項6に記載のプロセスにおいて、該プロセスは更に、前記アンモニア発酵残渣から除去された前記固形分を、該固形分を第2反応器へ移送する前にリン回収プロセスへ投入することを含むことを特徴とするプロセス。
- 請求項8に記載のプロセスにおいて、該プロセスは更に、リン酸溶液または塩沈殿物の形でリンを回収し、該リン酸溶液を前記脱窒システム内で吸収剤として用いることを含むことを特徴とするプロセス。
- 前記請求項のいずれかに記載のプロセスにおいて、該プロセスは更に、第2反応器から得られた発酵残渣を、固形分含量を高めた固体画分と固形分含量を減じた液体画分とに分離し、該液体画分を第1または第2反応器に再循環させることを含むことを特徴とするプロセス。
- 請求項1に記載のプロセスにおいて、第1反応器内部および/または第2反応器内部温度は、中温性領域、すなわち30℃〜40℃の範囲にあることを特徴とするプロセス。
- 請求項1に記載のプロセスにおいて、第1反応器内部および/または第2反応器内部の温度は、好熱性領域、すなわち45℃〜60℃の範囲にあることを特徴とするプロセス。
- 前記請求項のいずれかに記載のプロセスにおいて、第1反応器内にて、
まず、VS 1 kg当たり60g未満の単糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン類または発酵性食物繊維を含む窒素富化原料を第1反応器へ移送して予備アンモニア化を行い、
次に、VS 1 kg当たり60g超の単糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン類または発酵性食物繊維を含む窒素富化原料を第1反応器へ移送して、前記予備アンモニア化された原料と共に連続アンモニア化を行うことで、アンモニア化を実行することを特徴とするプロセス。 - 前記請求項のいずれかに記載のプロセスにおいて、第1反応器内で生成したガスを第2反応器へ投入してバイオガス収量を増大させることを特徴とするプロセス。
- アンモニア化を実行してアンモニア発酵残渣を生成させるための原料処理用第1反応器と、
アンモニア発酵残渣からアンモニア低減化発酵残渣を生成させる脱窒システムと、
前記アンモニア低減化発酵残渣からバイオガスを生成させるための第2反応器と、
第1反応器へ様々なタイプの原料を個別に移送する手段と、
前記アンモニア発酵残渣を第1反応器から前記脱窒システムへ移送する手段と、
前記アンモニア低減化発酵残渣を前記脱窒システムから第2反応器へ移送する手段と、
原料またはアンモニア性窒素を第2反応器へ直接移送する手段とを含むことを特徴とする原料からのバイオガス生産を最適化するシステム。 - 請求項15に記載の最適化するシステムにおいて、該システムは、
揮発性固形分中の全元素状窒素含量または原料中の炭素対窒素モル比を決定する第1測定システムと、
脱窒後の前記アンモニア低減化発酵残渣中の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を決定する第2測定システムと、
第2反応器の内容物中の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を決定する第3測定システムと、
窒素富化原料、炭素富化原料または揮発性固形分1 kg当たり60g超の単糖類、オリゴ糖類、デンプン類または発酵性食物繊維を含む窒素富化原料の第1または第2反応器内における分布を調節し、第2反応器内の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を最適範囲内に保つ手段と、
第2および第3測定システムの測定データに基き、前記脱窒システムの効率および第2反応器への前記アンモニア低減化発酵残渣の流入を調節し、第2反応器内の全アンモニア性窒素量、全元素状窒素量またはC/Nモル比を最適範囲内に維持する手段とを用いて、プロセス途中の窒素状態を制御し、
前記原材料のC/Nモル比が15未満であるか、または前記原材料のVS中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40gを超える場合、前記原材料は窒素富化状態であり、
前記原材料のC/Nモル比が15を超える場合、または前記原材料の揮発性固形分中の全元素状窒素含量がVS 1 kg当たり40g未満である場合、前記原材料は炭素富化状態であり、
C/Nモル比が5.0〜12であるか、または全アンモニア性窒素量が0.1〜2.5 g/Lであるか、または全元素状窒素量が0.3〜2.8 g/Lである場合、第2反応器内の窒素状態は最適であることを特徴とするシステム。
