Abstract
Description
モノリス基材(直径118mm及び長さ140mm)は、50g/ft−3の充填量で、白金及びパラジウム(Pt:Pd=2:1)を含有する最高水準のDOCコーティングでコーティングされる。基材の後部は、慣習的なウォッシュコーティング手段を使用して、コーティングの50%を添加される。慣習的な精密なコーティングプロトコルを使用しブランクオフされた(マスクされた)領域を有する基材の前部は、DOC1を生じさせるような第一の添加のように、コーティングのもう一方の50%を添加される。
車両試験は、1.5LのDOC(DOC1)及びCSFを備え付けられた1.5LのEuro5車両で、実施される。DOC1は、排気温度及び測定される排出物を用いて、新欧州ドライビングサイクル(NEDC)を通して評価される。排出測定は、事前−及び事後−触媒モダル排出物を測定するように備え付けられたCVSローラー動力計で、全ての規制される排出物について実施される。2つの熱電対は、事前及び事後DOC温度を測定するように、慣習的な方法によりシステムに加えられる。加えて、本発明のOBDは、モノリス中、前面から同一距離(35mm)及び側面から30mmの同一半径位置、に注意深く配置される2つの熱電対を加えることにより、試験される。ある熱電対は、モノリスの慣習的にコーティングされた領域に位置し、もう一方は、モノリスのコーティングされない領域に位置する。OBD熱電対を用いるDOC1は、図1Aで説明され、慣習な事前−及び事後−触媒熱電対の位置は、図1Bで説明される。試験の間、DOCの非触媒化領域に取り付けられた熱電対と触媒化領域においての同様な軸及び半径位置に取り付けられた熱電対との間の温度差は、決定され;事前−及び事後−触媒温度の間の温度差もまた測定される。真新しいDOC触媒の試験に加えて、真新しいDOC触媒の活性は、フレッシュDOC触媒、末期の古いDOC触媒及びOBDの古いDOC触媒、の温度プロファイルを比較するために、水熱オーブンエイジングを使用して調製される。
Claims (17)
- (1)触媒化領域及び非触媒化領域を有する触媒化された基材と;(2)第一のセンサーと;(3)第二のセンサーとを含み、第一のセンサーは触媒化された基材の触媒化領域内に位置し、第二のセンサーは、触媒化された基材の非触媒化領域内に位置する、内燃機関の排気システムのための車載式診断システム。
- 触媒化された基材が総体積を有し、非触媒化領域が総体積の25%より小さい体積を有する、請求項1に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 非触媒化領域の体積が、触媒化された基材の総体積の10%未満である、請求項1又は2に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 触媒化された基材が、入口端及び出口端、並びに入口端から出口端まで延びる軸長を有し、非触媒化領域が、触媒化された基材の入口端から、触媒化された基材の軸長の一部に沿って延びる、請求項1から3の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 非触媒化領域が、触媒化された基材の入口端から、触媒化された基材の軸長の60%未満で延びる、請求項4に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 非触媒化領域が、触媒化された基材の半径方向長さの100%に沿って延びる、請求項4又は5に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 触媒化された基材の下流に位置する追加の酸化触媒を更に含む、請求項1から6の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 非触媒化領域が不活性ウォッシュコートでコーティングされる、請求項1から7の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 第一のセンサー及び第二のセンサーが、触媒化された基材の軸長に沿って同様の長さで位置する、請求項1から8の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 第一のセンサー及び第二のセンサーが、両方とも熱センサーである、請求項1から9の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 第一のセンサー及び第二のセンサーが、両方とも熱電対である、請求項1から10の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システム。
- 請求項1から11の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システムを含む排気システム。
- 内燃機関、及び請求項1から11の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システム又は請求項12に記載の排気システムのどちらか一方、を備える車両。
- 内燃機関のための排気システム内の触媒化された基材の車上診断のための方法であって、触媒化された基材が触媒化領域及び非触媒化領域を有し、第一のセンサーが触媒化領域内に位置し、第二のセンサーが非触媒化領域内に位置し、
(a)第一のセンサーで触媒化領域の温度、及び第二のセンサーで、非触媒化領域の温度を測定することと;
(b)触媒化領域の温度と非触媒化領域の温度の間の温度差、を算定することと;
(c)触媒化された基材が診断試験に合格であったか不合格であったかを、合格又は不合格の触媒化された基材について予期される差と温度差を比較することにより決定することと、
を含む方法。 - 触媒化された基材が、入口端、出口端、及び入口端から出口端まで延びる軸長を有し、第一の熱センサー及び第二の熱センサーが、触媒化された基材の軸長に沿って同様の長さで位置する、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 温度差の比較後、触媒化された基材が、診断試験に不合格であったとき、故障を示す光を発すること、を更に含む、請求項14又は請求項15に記載の方法。
- 請求項1から11の何れか一項に記載の車載式診断システムを使用する、請求項14から16の何れか一項に記載の方法。
