Abstract
Description
ガスタービンエンジンの動作条件では、発電に使用するか航空機エンジンに使用するかにかかわらず、タービンエンジン物品中にあるSiCの後退が起きる。後退の研究に使用する、速度相関に基づく経験的/半経験的モデルがある。使用される1つの式は、NASAのSmialek等によるものである。揮発速度を酸化条件で次式により表現することができる。

本開示は、多孔質酸化物層を耐環境皮膜に使用でき、下地基板の後退速度を低下させるために使用できることも教示する。
Si3N4(s)+O2(g)→SiO2(S)+N2(g)
炭素酸化物(COx)及びN2ガスは、多くの酸化物中で低い溶解性及び拡散性を有し、外部皮膜/基板の境界で捕捉されて隙間を形成することができる。隙間でのガスの圧力は、昇温で破裂を生じるのに十分なほどに高くなることがある。隙間は、相互接続して、剥離をもたらす大きな非結合性境界領域も形成することがある。
本開示は、局所剥れの発生に際してCMC部品の寿命を実質的に増加させ、幾つかの事例では10倍以上増加させるための方法及び関連物品も教示する。当該技術分野では、EBCの局所剥離の発生に際するCMCの後退/厚さ損失を解決するための保護メカニズムを見出す大きな必要性がある。一例では、本開示は、局所剥離が動作中の初期に起きる場合にエンジン部品の寿命要件を満たす。さらに、損傷を限定できるので、部品の修復及び再使用がより容易となる。
上記したように、燃焼ガス中にある水蒸気によるケイ素含有セラミックスの揮発が問題である。揮発は、材料の損失につながり、幾つかの条件では、数万時間のオーダーの部品寿命期間中にセラミックスの数百〜千ミルに及ぶ厚さ損失につながることがある。比較のために、CMC部品の厚さは、非常に小さく、百ミル未満のオーダーであると予想される。耐環境皮膜(EBC)は、下地基板の後退を防ぐために使用される。しかし、幾つかの条件では、EBCは、剥離して、又はひび割れて、下地基板を燃焼ガス環境に晒すことがある。したがって、多くの用途では、CMC基板の耐減肉性を高めることが望ましく、必要でさえある場合がある。本開示は、CMC基板の耐減肉性を高めることも目的とする。
CMCマトリックス材料の例は、炭化ケイ素及び窒化ケイ素を含む。CMC補強用材料の例には、非限定的に、炭化ケイ素及び窒化ケイ素が含まれる。炭化ケイ素繊維の例は、炭化ケイ素繊維として知られ市販されている全ての繊維を含み、炭化ケイ素繊維は、炭化ケイ素を含み、酸素、炭素、窒素、アルミニウム、及びその他等の他の元素を含有してもよい。知られている炭化ケイ素繊維の例は、Nippon Carbon(日本)から入手できるNICALON(商標)ファミリーの炭化ケイ素繊維、COI/ATK(ユタ)から入手できるSylramic(商標)炭化ケイ素繊維、UBE Industries(日本)から入手できるTyranno(商標)ファミリーの繊維、及びSpecialty Materials,Inc.(マサチューセッツ)により生産された商品名SCS−6もしくはSCS−Ultraの商品名を有する繊維である。モノリシックセラミックの例は、炭化ケイ素、窒化ケイ素、及びケイ素アルミニウム酸窒化物(SiAlON)を含む。
Claims (27)
- 耐減肉性物品であって、ケイ素含有基板の酸化物を含み、ケイ素含有基板の成分が、基板に分散した酸化物と相互接続し、ケイ素を含有する耐減肉性物品の大部分を成す、耐減肉性物品。
- ケイ素含有基板と酸化物相の両方が、相互接続した個々の網状組織である、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 基板がSiC−SiCセラミックマトリックス複合材を含む、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 酸化物が、摂氏1度当り約5ppmの膨張率を有し、水分を含む環境で化学的に安定しており、及び/又は水蒸気との反応に付随する極僅かな負の体積変化、好ましくは30%以下の負の体積変化を呈し、酸化ケイ素に対して化学的に安定している、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 酸化物が、Sc、Y、La、Ce、Pr、Nd、Pm、Sm、Eu、Gd、Tb、Dy、Ho、Er、Tm、Yb、Lu及び/又はそれらの組合せからなる群から選択される元素の酸化物を有する希土類二ケイ酸塩である、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 酸化物が、Y及び/又はYb及び/又はLuの元素の酸化物を有する希土類二ケイ酸塩である、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 酸化物が酸化ハフニウムである、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 酸化物が、BaSr、Ca、及びMgの元素のうちの1種以上のアルカリ土類ケイ酸塩を含むアルカリ土類アルミノケイ酸塩である、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 物品がガスタービンエンジン部品であり、部品が、体積で約5%〜45%の希土類酸化物含有化合物を含む、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 物品が、基板の頂部に位置したボンドコートをさらに含む、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 基板がセラミックマトリックス複合材であり、ボンドコートが、ケイ素の別の層に続く、相互接続したケイ素及び酸化物の層を含む、請求項10記載の耐減肉性物品。
- ケイ素層が、基板とケイ素−酸化物二相層との間に置かれている、請求項11記載の耐減肉性物品。
- ボンドコートの頂部に耐環境皮膜をさらに備える、請求項11記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 基板が、約2ミル〜約50ミル厚の耐環境皮膜で被覆されている、請求項13記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 基板が、ポリマー含浸焼成、化学蒸気溶浸、溶融含浸、焼結、及びそれらの組合せのプロセスにより作られている、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 基板が、ケイ素溶融含浸のプロセスにより作られている、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 物品が、ガスタービンアセンブリの部品である、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 物品が、燃焼器部品、タービンブレード、シュラウド、ノズル、熱シールド、及びベーンからなる群から選択されたガスタービンエンジン部品である、請求項1記載の耐減肉性物品。
- 内部に酸化物を有するケイ素含有基板を備え、ケイ素含有基板の成分と酸化物が、互いに相互接続している、耐減肉性ガスタービン部品。
- 酸化物が、摂氏1度当り約5ppmの膨張率を有し、水分を含む環境で化学的に安定しており、及び/又は水蒸気との反応に付随する約30%以下の負の体積変化を呈し、酸化ケイ素に対して化学的に安定している、請求項19記載の耐減肉性ガスタービン部品。
- 溶融含浸用プリフォームの製造方法であって、
a)セラミックマトリックス前駆体スラリーを用意すること、
b)1種以上の希土類二ケイ酸塩(RE2Si2O7)及び/又はアルカリ土類アルミノケイ酸塩の1種以上をマトリックス前駆体スラリーに導入すること、
c)スラリーを炭素ベール材料に含浸させ、又はスラリーをテープ成形して、マトリックス前駆体の薄いシートを生成すること、
d)シートをセラミックマトリックス複合材プリフォームの表面上に配置して、酸化物粒子を含有する表面層を形成すること、及び
e)真空圧着及び積層又は圧縮成形を使用して、シートをプリフォーム上に固定すること
を含む、方法。 - 酸化物を含有する表面層をセラミックマトリックス複合材プリフォームの残部と共に、融解したケイ素又はケイ素含有合金で溶融含浸して、酸化物粒子を含有する表面層を形成することをさらに含む、請求項21記載の方法。
- 酸化物含有スラリーが、セラミックマトリックス複合材プリフォーム上に被覆されている、請求項22記載の方法。
- 皮膜が、溶融含浸に続いてスプレー塗装又はディップ皮膜により実施される、請求項23記載の方法。
- 溶融含浸用プリフォームの製造方法であって、
a)セラミックマトリックス前駆体スラリーを用意すること、及び
b)1種以上の希土類二ケイ酸塩(RE2Si2O7)及び/又はアルカリ土類アルミノケイ酸塩の1種以上である1種以上の酸化物をマトリックス前駆体スラリーに導入することを含み、
酸化物粒子がマトリックス前駆体スラリーに添加され、複合テープが続いてスラリーでプリプレグされ、プリプレグされたテープが積層され複合プリフォーム内に固定され、プリフォームが続いてケイ素又はケイ素合金で溶融含浸される、方法。 - Si含有基板上に表面皮膜の製造方法であって、ケイ素セラミック前駆体ポリマー及び酸化物粒子の混合物を作り、混合物をケイ素含有基板の表面上に被覆し、被覆した表面を熱処理してポリマーをセラミックに転換させることによって皮膜を製造する方法。
- 第1の皮膜の堆積の後にポリマー含浸及び次の熱処理が繰り返される、請求項26記載の方法。
