Abstract
Description
Claims (17)
- 第1の合金組成を有するピン部と、
第2の合金組成を有する本体部と、
を含む摩擦攪拌接合工具用先端部材であって、
前記ピン部と前記本体部とは併せてショルダーと遷移領域とを形成し、遷移領域は前記第1の合金組成から前記第2の合金組成まで組成が漸加的に変化し、
前記第1の合金組成は、0.2〜25wt%のロジウムを含み、
前記第2の合金組成は、前記ショルダーからの第1の距離において存在し、
前記第1の合金組成は、前記第2の合金組成と、少なくとも0.2wt%のある元素の分、異なっている工具用先端部材。 - 前記元素は希土類である請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記元素は、ニオブ、イリジウム、タングステン、ロジウム、ランタン、レニウムからなる群より選ばれる請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記元素は、少なくとも0.5wt%の前記第2の合金を構成する請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記元素は、少なくとも1wt%の前記第2の合金を構成する請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記ショルダーは、少なくとも5wt%の前記元素を含む請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記ピン部の外面の少なくとも一部に対するダイヤモンドコーティングを更に含む請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記先端に連結されたマスターカラーを更に含む請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記ピン部は、表面硬化処理工程で形成した表面硬化層を含む外層を有する請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記ピン部は芯を覆うコーティングを備え、前記コーティングはビッカース硬度が少なくとも600Hvであり、前記芯はビッカース硬度が600Hv未満である請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記漸加的な組成変化は不連続的である請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記漸加的な組成変化は連続的である請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記漸加的な組成変化は、前記ピン部の少なくとも一部に沿ったビッカース硬度の少なくとも100の増加に相関する請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記漸加的な組成変化は、シャルピーVノッチエネルギーにおける少なくとも100Jの壊靱性の増加に相関する請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 前記漸加的な変化は、微細構造の変化を含む請求項1に記載の先端部材。
- 組成が漸加的に変化している摩擦攪拌接合工具の製造方法であって、
第1の粉末組成を第2の粉末組成と混合して粉末混合物を作成するステップ;
併せてショルダーを形成するピン部と本体部とを備える容器内に、前記粉末混合物を積み重ねるステップであって、粉末混合物が、前記ピン部内に位置する第1の粉末領域と、前記本体部内に位置する第2の粉末領域と、前記第1の領域と前記第2の領域との間の遷移粉末領域とを有するように積み重ねられ、前記第1の領域は前記第1の粉末組成を含み、前記第2の領域は前記第2の粉末組成を含み、前記遷移領域は前記第1の合金組成から前記第2の合金組成まで漸加的に変化している組成を含み、前記第1の合金組成は、0.2〜25wt%のロジウムを含むステップと、
固相高密度化工程を前記積み重ねた粉末混合物に適用して第1の合金組成を含む第1の固体領域と、第2の合金組成を含む第2の固体領域と、前記第1の固体領域と前記第2の固体領域との間の遷移固体領域と、を有する固体塊を作成するステップであって、前記遷移固体領域は、前記第1の合金組成から前記第2の合金組成まで組成が漸加的に変化しているステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記固相高密度化工程は、熱間等方加圧工程である請求項16に記載の方法。
