Abstract
【解決手段】面状照明装置10は、LED20と、FPC40と、LED20が対向して配置される入光面12及び入光面12から入射した光を面状に出射する出射面13を有する導光板11と、を備えている。FPC40は、ベースフィルム41及び配線層42を含むとともに、LED20が実装される側に、LED20の直下部を含んで延びる帯状の第1領域45と、第1領域45の前方側に隣接して延びる帯状の第2領域46とを備えており、第1領域45の少なくとも前記点状光源の直下部及び第2領域46にカバーレイフィルム43を有しないことを特徴とする。

Description
このような薄型化の観点から、本項に記載の面状照明装置は、好ましくは、以下の(2)項の構成、さらに好ましくは、(3)項に記載の構成を備えるものである。
本項に記載の面状照明装置は、さらに、以下の(5)項に記載の構成を備えることが好ましい。
さらに、本項に記載の面状照明装置は、この白色フィルムを形成する材料に関して、以下の(7)項の構成が好ましい。
本項に記載の面状照明装置では、第2領域に青色光反射手段を有するため、青色光反射手段で反射された後に導光板から出射される光は、主として青色光成分から構成されるものとなる。これによって、導光板から出射される照明光の黄色化を改善し、照明光の品質を向上させることができる。
面状照明装置10では、そのFPC40が、FPC40のLED20が実装される側に、LED20の直下部を含んで延びる帯状の第1領域45を備えており、第1領域45にカバーレイフィルム43を有しないように構成される。これによって、面状照明装置10は、LED20のような電極端子構造を備えたLEDを用いた場合でも、電極端子34、35をランド部に対して電気的及び機械的に確実に接続させることが可能となる。
従来のFPCのベースフィルムは、通常、ポリイミド等の有色のフィルムからなり、例えば、ポリイミドの場合は、オレンジ色を有している。そして、一般に、導光板11から出射される照明光には、LED20から出射された後に、第1領域45及び/または第2領域46でのベースフィルム41による反射を含む経路を辿って、出射に至る光が含まれる。この場合、導光板11から出射される照明光に、ベースフィルムの色が映り込むことによる色むらが発生するおそれがある。
Claims (7)
- 点状光源と、前記点状光源が実装されるフレキシブルプリント回路基板と、前記点状光源が対向して配置される端面及び該端面から入射した光を面状に出射する出射面を有する導光板と、を備える面状照明装置であって、
前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板は、ベースフィルム及び該ベースフィルム上に形成される配線層を含むとともに、前記点状光源が実装される側に、前記点状光源の直下部を含んで延びる帯状の第1領域と、該第1領域の前方側に隣接して延びる帯状の第2領域とを備えており、前記第1領域の少なくとも前記点状光源の直下部及び前記第2領域にカバーレイフィルムを有しないことを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 前記導光板は、前記端面と略直交する出射面と、該出射面と略平行に対向する裏面とを有しており、前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板は、前記第2領域を前記導光板の出射面側または裏面側に固定することによって、前記導光板に対して配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板は、前記点状光源が実装される側に、前記第1領域の後方側に隣接して延びる帯状の第3領域を備えており、該第3領域にカバーレイフィルムを有することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板のベースフィルムは、白色フィルムからなることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記白色フィルムが白色の液晶ポリマーからなることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記ランド部は、開口側が互いに対向するように配置された一対のコ字状の部分を含むことを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント回路基板は、前記第2領域に青色光反射手段を有することを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
