Abstract
Description
In the present invention, a melted hot melt adhesive is applied to the back of a bundle of sheets of a plurality of sheets, and then a cover sheet is adhered to the adhesive-applied sheet bundle to perform case binding. The bookbinding system.
In general, a bookbinding system applies an adhesive to the back of a bundle of sheets in which a plurality of sheets are bundled, and then binds a cover sheet to the adhesive-coated sheet bundle for bookbinding. Yes.
As an example of this type of bookbinding system, there is a bookbinding glue device that can increase the bookbinding strength (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
In the bookbinding glue device disclosed in Patent Document 1 described above, illustration is omitted here, but a bundle of text sheets for one book to be bound (hereinafter referred to as a text sheet bundle) is clamped. A text supply unit that supplies the pasting position of the gluing unit, a text transfer unit, a gluing unit, a cover supplying unit, a cover adhering unit, a cover forming unit, and a booklet discharging unit. Yes.
Among the above-mentioned means, the gluing means for applying the molten hot melt adhesive to the back of the text sheet bundle is in contact with the housing containing the molten hot melt adhesive and the molten hot melt adhesive in the housing. And a coating roller pressing means for applying a molten hot melt adhesive adhered to the peripheral surface of the coating roller to the back portion of the text sheet bundle. When the application roller is pressed against the back of the text sheet bundle by the application roller pressing means, the application roller is rotated forward and backward within a small angle range to melt and melt the melt melt between the sheets of the text sheet bundle. And a coating roller rotation control means for applying the molten hot melt adhesive to both side portions near the back portion of each sheet of paper bundle.
More specifically, the gluing means is configured as a heater unit. In this gluing means, a sheet roller for winding a long belt-shaped hot melt sheet, a sheet feed roller for transporting a hot melt sheet unwound from the sheet roller along a predetermined transport path, and a sheet feed roller A heat roller that heats and melts the fed hot melt sheet to a temperature higher than its melting temperature, a housing that stores the hot melt adhesive melted by contact with the heat roller, and a rotation drive mechanism that rotates the heat roller in a predetermined direction And a lift drive mechanism for moving the heat roller up and down, and temperature sensors provided at two locations on the top and bottom of the housing.
Then, the hot melt adhesive melted by contact with the heat roller in the housing accumulates at the bottom of the housing having an arcuate cross section, adheres to the peripheral surface of the heat roller, and moves from the text receiving position to the gluing position. The molten hot melt adhesive is applied to the back portion of the moved text sheet bundle and the region in the vicinity of the back of each bookbinding sheet of the text sheet bundle.
As a result, the molten hot melt adhesive can be simultaneously applied to the back portion of the text sheet bundle and both side portions in the vicinity thereof using only a single application roller.
By the way, when the binding apparatus for bookbinding disclosed in Patent Document 1 has reached the initial state, a hot melt adhesive is provided between the bottom of the housing and the peripheral surface of the heat roller in the housing of the pasting means. Is stored in a sufficient quantity so that it can be applied to a bundle of multiple text sheets.
And since a sufficient amount of hot melt adhesive contained in the housing is cooled and solid, when the bookbinding is started from the initial state of the bookbinding glue device, the heat roller is preheated sufficiently. Warm-up time is required to warm up until a sufficient amount of hot melt adhesive is melted.
At this time, the warm-up time until all of the hot-melt adhesive contained in the housing of the gluing means is melted becomes long.
On the other hand, the text supply means can create a text sheet bundle to be bound first immediately from the initial state of the bookbinding glue device, but has to wait for a long warm-up time to the glue means. This is a problem because it takes a long time to bind the text sheet bundle to be bound first from the state.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, a method of shortening the warm-up time to the gluing means by supplying a large amount of power so as to increase the heat amount of the heat roller can be considered, but the heat roller has a large diameter, Another problem occurs such as an increase in power consumption of the bookbinding glue device.
Therefore, without increasing the heat quantity of the heat roller, the warm-up time for the gluing means (adhesive application part) can be shortened, and the first sheet bundle to be bound can be quickly recovered from the initial state of the bookbinding glue device (bookbinding system). It is an object of the present invention to provide a bookbinding system capable of case binding.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and in a bookbinding system that binds a cover sheet to a sheet bundle obtained by bundling a plurality of sheets by using an adhesive and performs case binding.
An adhesive container that contains the adhesive; an adhesive application roller that rotates while contacting the adhesive in the adhesive container and applies the adhesive to the back of the sheet bundle; and the adhesive An adhesive application unit having a heater for heating the application roller and melting the adhesive in contact with the adhesive application roller;
Adhesion necessary to calculate the thickness of the sheet bundle from the number of pages of the sheet bundle and the thickness of the sheet, and to apply to the back of the sheet bundle corresponding to the thickness of the sheet bundle A controller for determining the amount of agent used, and a controller for determining a warm-up time for the adhesive application portion required to melt the adhesive by the amount of the adhesive used;
A booklet forming unit that forms a booklet in a case binding state by bonding the cover sheet to the sheet bundle that has been adhesive-coated by the adhesive application unit,
In the bookbinding system, the control unit controls the adhesive application roller of the adhesive application unit to start application to the back of the sheet bundle after warming up the warm-up time.
According to the bookbinding system according to the present invention, in the bookbinding system that binds a cover sheet to a sheet bundle obtained by bundling a plurality of sheets using an adhesive (hot melt adhesive), and performs case binding. An application unit, a control unit, and a booklet forming unit, and the control unit calculates the thickness of one sheet bundle and corresponds to the thickness of the sheet bundle. Determine the amount of adhesive used to apply to the adhesive, and then determine the warm-up time for the adhesive application part required to melt the adhesive by the amount of adhesive used. During the up time, the adhesive is melted for the amount of adhesive used, and the adhesive that adheres to the outer peripheral surface of the adhesive application roller in a molten state starts to be applied to the back of the first bundle of sheets to be bound from the initial state of the bookbinding system. You are in control.
As a result, the required amount of molten adhesive (molten hot melt adhesive) can be applied in a short time from the initial state of the bookbinding system to the back of the first (first book) sheet bundle. Thus, it is possible to form a booklet bound and bound in a short time from the initial state by adhering a cover sheet to a sheet bundle to which an adhesive has been applied.

Further, as shown only in FIG. 2 (b), an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) -based
Then, the
In this embodiment, the
Returning to FIG. 1, as will be described in the later-described operation, an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) -based hot-melt adhesive Ga {FIG. 6 (b)} is applied to the back portion PSa of the text sheet bundle PS by the
Next, the cover
At this time, the predetermined length of the cover sheet P2 is cut to a length that can be bound and bound on both side surfaces PSb of the text sheet bundle PS in accordance with the thickness of the text sheet bundle PS calculated in an operation described later. Then, the cover sheet P2 cut by the cover sheet cut
Next, the
The
Further, in the
Then, after the cover sheet P2 sent from the cover sheet cut
Subsequently, the cover sheet P2 is centered on the text sheet bundle PS by abutting the adhesive-coated text sheet bundle PS on the butting
Further, the booklet PB for one book is moved to the right together with the abutting
Next, the
Next, the
Here, operation | movement of the bookbinding system 1 which concerns on embodiment of this invention comprised as mentioned above is demonstrated using FIG.1 and FIG.2 used previously, and new FIGS. 3-6.
FIG. 3 shows an operation flow of the bookbinding system 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 4 shows the relationship between the thickness of the text sheet bundle and the amount of hot melt adhesive used for booklet forming. FIG. 5 shows the relationship between the warm-up time for the adhesive application part and the amount of hot melt adhesive used for booklet forming. Further, FIGS. 6A to 6C show the operation of the adhesive application unit.
As shown in FIG. 3, when the bookbinding system 1 according to the embodiment of the present invention starts operating when the bookbinding system 1 has reached the initial state, the user operates the
At this time, when the bookbinding system 1 is in the initial state, the operations of the
Further, it is assumed that the print job executes only printing on the paper P in the
When the user operates the
Next, in step S2, the
In this print job, the paper P fed by the internal
On the other hand, when it is determined in step S2 that the
The text sheet bundle forming time T1 can be calculated from a constant sheet transport speed, a sheet transport distance from the paper feed position to the
The text sheet bundle application position arrival time T1 may be calculated instead of the text sheet bundle formation time T1, and the text sheet bundle application position arrival time T1 is calculated from the paper feed position via the
Next, in step S <b> 6, the
Next, in step S7, the
Returning to FIG. 3, next, in step S <b> 8, the
Next, in step S9, when the
At this time, as shown in FIG. 5, the warm-up time T2 to the
When the current temperature of the hot melt adhesive G is lower than the normal temperature, the value of the second table TB2 at the normal temperature is multiplied by a coefficient larger than 1 set for each low temperature to warm up. Time T2 becomes longer than that at room temperature. On the other hand, when the current temperature of the hot melt adhesive G is higher than the normal temperature, the value of the second table TB2 at the normal temperature is multiplied by a coefficient smaller than 1 set for each high temperature. Time T2 is shorter than at normal temperature.
Next, in step S10, the
On the other hand, when the
Then, after step S11 or step S12 is executed, the
Next, in step S14, the
Next, in step S15, the
Then, the hot hot melt adhesive melt adhesive Ga melted without any trouble can be applied to the next text sheet bundle PS to be bound after the first book.
Here, in the above-described step S13, the operation of applying the melted hot melt adhesive Ga to the back portion PSa of the text sheet bundle PS to be bound first after the
First, as shown in FIG. 6A, when the
When the
Therefore, in the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 6B, the
At this time, as previously described, if the warm-up time T2 to the
That is, the
As a result, the necessary amount of hot melt adhesive Ga can be applied in a short time from the initial state of the bookbinding system 1 to the back part PSa of the first (first book) text sheet bundle PS. The cover sheet P2 is bonded to the text sheet bundle PS to which the adhesive has been applied, and the booklet PB bound and bound can be formed in a short time from the initial state.
Further, as shown in FIG. 6C, when the time has elapsed after the melted hot melt adhesive Ga is applied to the back portion PSa of the first text sheet bundle PS, the
As described above in detail, when bookbinding is performed using the bookbinding system 1 according to the present invention, in this embodiment, the case of binding with binding the cover sheet P2 to the printed text sheet bundle PS has been described. However, this is not a limitation, and illustration is omitted here. However, in the case of a notebook or the like, it is also possible to bind and bind a cover sheet by bonding a cover sheet to a bundle of plain sheets that are not printed. Is possible.
In this case, the bookbinding system (not shown) includes a sheet supply device (not shown) for supplying one sheet of paper and a cover sheet, and a bookbinding device (the same configuration as the
Then, when the bookbinding system has reached the initial state, the bookbinding control unit calculates the thickness of one sheet bundle and applies it to the back of one sheet bundle corresponding to the thickness of the sheet bundle. To determine the amount of adhesive used, and to determine the warm-up time for the adhesive application part required to melt the hot melt adhesive by the amount of the adhesive used. During the up time, the hot melt adhesive is melted by the amount of adhesive used, and the hot melt adhesive that has adhered to the outer peripheral surface of the adhesive application roller in a molten state is used for the first bundle of sheets to be bound from the initial state of the bookbinding system. What is necessary is just to control to start application | coating to a back part.
