Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus for continuously surface-treating a strip-shaped sheet.
2. Description of the Related Art Atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatuses that irradiate a surface of a material with plasma for modification of surface properties such as improvement of wettability of a plastic film, etching, or fine processing are known. When the surface material is efficiently surface-treated with the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus, the belt-shaped sheet is continuously supplied to the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus, and the sheet is continuously irradiated with plasma.
For example, the plasma processing apparatus of Patent Document 1 generates plasma between a rotating roller-shaped electrode and a plurality of second electrodes, and wraps the sheet around the roller-shaped electrode and conveys it to the sheet. On the other hand, plasma processing is continuously performed. A plurality of second electrodes are surrounded by a container, and a sheet entering the container is sandwiched between a roller-shaped electrode and a sealing roller so that outside air does not enter the plasma discharge portion.
In another plasma processing apparatus, the plasma excitation gas is generated by a nozzle from the upstream side in the sheet conveyance direction toward the plasma discharge portion between the roller-shaped electrode and the second electrode without surrounding the second electrode with a container. It is configured to spray.
However, as in Patent Document 1, when the sheet is sandwiched between two rollers to block outside air, the peripheral speed of the sealing roller does not completely match the sheet conveyance speed, and the sheet and the sealing roller rub against each other. There is a risk of damaging the surface of the sheet. In particular, when a sheet is to be conveyed at a high speed to improve productivity, it is very difficult to solve this problem.
On the other hand, when the plasma excitation gas is blown by the nozzle without surrounding the second electrode with the container, there is no problem of damage to the sheet. However, if the sheet conveyance speed is increased, the air accompanying the sheet is near the surface of the sheet. There is a problem that turbulent flow occurs and the surface treatment cannot be uniformly performed on the entire surface of the sheet.
In view of the above, an object of the present invention is to provide an atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus for uniformly surface-treating a belt-like sheet continuously and at high speed.
The present invention that solves the above-described problems is an atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus for continuously surface-treating a belt-like sheet, and the first roller-shaped device is configured such that the sheet is wound around the outer peripheral surface and rotated. An electrode, a second electrode facing the first electrode, a barrier made of a dielectric provided in contact with the second electrode between the first electrode and the second electrode, and plasma excitation between the first electrode and the barrier A gas supply device for supplying gas. The gas supply device is provided in the chamber continuously provided with the barrier on the upstream side in the sheet conveyance direction of the second electrode, a gas supply source for supplying plasma excitation gas, and the gas supply source is connected to the chamber. A supply port, a slit-like delivery port extending in the direction of the rotation axis of the first electrode for delivering plasma excitation gas from the chamber toward the sheet, and the first electrode from the chamber upstream of the delivery port in the transport direction And an upstream seal portion facing the sheet via a gap.
According to such a configuration, the upstream seal portion faces the sheet with a gap therebetween, so there is no possibility of damaging the sheet at the upstream seal portion, and plasma processing is performed while the sheet is conveyed at high speed. be able to. In addition, the gas supply device receives the plasma excitation gas from the gas supply source through the supply port into the chamber, and after the flow velocity is reduced in the chamber, the gas supply device sends it out in layers from the slit-like delivery port. A plasma excitation gas can be supplied. Furthermore, since this apparatus eliminates air accompanying the sheet as much as possible by the upstream side seal part, even if the sheet is conveyed at high speed, the air is less likely to be turbulent near the sheet surface, and the plasma is discharged to the plasma discharge part. The excitation gas can be supplied uniformly. For this reason, according to the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus of the present invention, it is possible to uniformly treat the belt-like sheet continuously and at high speed.
In the above-described device, the gas supply device can be configured to have a side seal portion that extends from the chamber toward the first electrode on the outer side in the rotational axis direction than the delivery port and faces the sheet via a gap. .
According to such a configuration, since it is difficult for air to enter the space between the chamber and the first electrode from the outside in the rotation axis direction of the first electrode, the plasma excitation gas is uniformly supplied near the surface of the sheet, Can be surface treated.
In the above-described apparatus, it is desirable that the distance between the upstream seal portion and the sheet is smaller than the distance between the barrier and the sheet.
According to such a configuration, the plasma excitation gas easily flows between the barrier and the first electrode, and stable plasma can be generated.
In the above-described apparatus, the size of the delivery port in the transport direction can be made smaller than the size of the space in the chamber in the transport direction.
According to such a configuration, since the plasma excitation gas can be sent out after being retained in the chamber, the flow of the plasma excitation gas sent out from the outlet can be stabilized.
In the above-described apparatus, the delivery port can be formed as a gap between the wall surface on the upstream side in the transport direction of the chamber and the partition wall extending from the second electrode side toward the upstream side in the transport direction.
According to such a configuration, since the outlet is arranged at the upstream end of the chamber, the plasma excitation gas can be immediately supplied to the sheet that has passed through the upstream seal portion, and the sheet is accompanied by the sheet. Air turbulence can be suppressed and uniform surface treatment can be realized.
In the above-described apparatus, the partition wall can be constituted by a barrier.
According to such a structure, a chamber can be comprised compactly using a barrier.
In the above-described apparatus, it is preferable that the supply port faces the inner wall surface of the chamber.
According to such a configuration, the plasma excitation gas that has entered the chamber from the supply port can be easily retained in the chamber, and the flow of the plasma excitation gas that is delivered from the delivery port can be stabilized.
In the above-described apparatus, the gap between the upstream seal portion and the sheet can be 0.05 to 5 mm.
In this way, by setting the space between the upstream seal portion and the seat small, air accompanying the seat can be effectively eliminated.
In the above-described apparatus, the size of the supply port in the transport direction can be smaller than the size of the space in the chamber in the transport direction.
In the above-described apparatus, the distance between the barrier and the sheet can be 0.1 to 5 mm.
In the apparatus described above, the flow rate of the plasma excitation gas in the plasma discharge part between the barrier and the first electrode can be 1 to 5 m / s.
In the above-described apparatus, it is preferable that the gas supply pressure of the gas supply source is adjusted so that the plasma excitation gas leaks from the space between the upstream seal portion and the sheet to the upstream side in the transport direction.
According to this configuration, air accompanying the sheet from between the upstream seal portion and the sheet is less likely to enter the space between the chamber and the first electrode, and the plasma excitation gas is uniformly supplied near the surface of the sheet. And uniform surface treatment.
In the above-described apparatus, the distance between the delivery port and the second electrode in the transport direction can be 20 to 60 mm.
In the above-described apparatus, the size of the second electrode in the transport direction can be 10 to 30 mm.
In the above-described apparatus, the first electrode can be configured to rotate at a peripheral speed of 50 m / min or more.
According to the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus of the present invention, a belt-like sheet can be subjected to surface treatment uniformly at a high speed.
Next, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings as appropriate.
As shown in FIG. 1, the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus 1 is an apparatus for continuously surface-treating a strip-shaped sheet S, and includes a
The
The
The
The
The
As shown in FIG. 3, the
As shown in FIG. 2, two
As shown in FIG. 3, the upstream end of the
The
The
As shown in FIG. 1, the
The gas supply pressure of the
As shown in FIG. 3, the
The
On the other hand, the distance between the
The distance D1 between the
The size D3 of the space in the chamber C (chamber inner space 25) in the transport direction is larger than the size D4 of the
The size D5 of the
The size D6 in the transport direction of the
As shown in FIG. 2, the size of the chamber constituent member 20 (chamber C) in the direction of the rotation axis A1 is smaller than the width of the sheet S (size in the direction of the rotation axis A1). The relationship may be reversed.
The effect of the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus 1 configured as described above will be described.
As shown in FIG. 1, a long sheet S to be processed is wound around the
At this time, most of the air entrained on the surface of the sheet S is scraped off by the
In addition, the plasma excitation gas that has entered the chamber C from the
Furthermore, since the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus 1 has the
In this way, in the
In the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus 1, since the distance between the
Although one embodiment of the present invention has been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment and can be appropriately modified and implemented.
For example, as in the atmospheric pressure
In the above embodiment, the chamber C is provided in contact with the
In the above embodiment, the chamber C is configured using the
In the above-described embodiment, the atmospheric pressure plasma processing apparatus 1 includes the

The measurement results of the oxygen concentration and the water contact angle in each example and comparative example are collectively shown in FIG. N in the table is the number of experiments.
As shown in FIG. 6, the oxygen concentration in Examples 1 to 4 was lower than that in Comparative Examples 1 and 2 in both cases where the processing speed was 20 m / min and 50 m / min. The water contact angle has a large variation (standard deviation) in Comparative Examples 1 and 2 regardless of whether the processing speed is 20 m / min or 50 m / min, whereas the variation in Examples 1 to 4 varies. It was small. That is, it was confirmed that the surface treatment can be performed relatively uniformly over the entire surface of the example. In particular, when the treatment speed was as high as 50 m / min, the variation in the water contact angle in Comparative Example 2 was large. Further, in Examples 1 and 3 where the seal gap was 0.3 mm, it was confirmed that the variation in water contact angle was smaller than in Examples 2 and 4 where the seal gap was 11 mm, and the surface treatment could be performed uniformly. .
