Description
Claims (10)
- 基板内に疎水性材料を分散させるための装置であって、
第1のローラと、
前記第1のローラに係合してニップを形成するように構成されている第2のローラと、
前記第1のローラに動作可能に接続されており、前記第1のローラを、前記第2のローラの第2の温度よりも高い第1の温度まで加熱するように構成されている第1のヒータと、
前記第1のローラが基板の第1の面に係合することを可能にし、前記第2のローラが前記基板の第2の面に係合することを可能にするために、所定の速度において前記ニップを通じて基板を移動させるように構成されている基板搬送装置であって、前記基板の前記第2の面は、前記第1のローラと前記第2のローラとの間の前記ニップにおける温度勾配に応答して前記基板内に浸透する前記疎水性材料を有する、基板搬送装置と
を備える、装置。 - 前記疎水性材料はワックスを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記疎水性材料は相変化インクを含む、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記基板搬送装置上で前記ニップの前に位置付けられ、前記基板を所定の温度まで加熱するように構成されている第2のヒータをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記基板搬送装置は、前記第1のローラおよび前記第2のローラを前記所定の速度において回転させるように構成されているアクチュエータをさらに備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記第1の温度は約70℃〜140℃の範囲内である、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記所定の速度は、前記基板の所定の部分が、約0.1秒〜10秒の範囲内でニップ内に残ることを可能にする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記第2のローラは、所定の圧力で前記第1のローラに係合して、前記ニップが、前記疎水性材料に強制的に前記基板内に入るようにすることを可能にするように構成されている、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記所定の圧力は、約800ポンド毎平方インチ(PSI)〜3,000PSIの範囲内である、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 基板内に疎水性材料を分散させるための方法であって、
ニップを形成するために第1のローラを第2のローラと係合させるステップと、
前記第1のローラを、前記第2のローラの第2の温度よりも高い第1の温度まで加熱するために、前記第1のローラに動作可能に接続されている第1のヒータを用いて前記第1のローラを加熱するステップと、
第1の面および第2の面を有する基板を、前記第1のローラが前記基板の前記第1の面に係合することを可能にし、前記第2のローラが前記基板の前記第2の面に係合することを可能にするために、基板搬送装置を用いて所定の速度において前記ニップを通じて移動させるステップであって、前記基板の前記第2の面は、前記第1のローラと前記第2のローラとの間の前記ニップにおける温度勾配に応答して前記基板内に浸透する前記疎水性材料を有する、移動させるステップと
を含む、方法。
