Abstract

本発明は、概して、特に、微少流体用途において、流体導管をともに接続することに関する。
微少流体用途は、多くの場合、2つの元々別個の導管間に液密接続が生成されることを要求する。導管を接続するための従来の技法は、フェルールおよび他のタイプの機械加工された接手と、UV硬化性接着剤等のある接着剤との使用を含む。多くの問題が、特に、微少流体用途における、従来の流体接続に随伴する。フェルール等の機械加工された接手は、嵩張る傾向があり、したがって、多くの場合、狭い空間内への取付を要求する用途に好適ではない。機械加工された接手および接着剤は、典型的には、HPLC(高性能液体クロマトグラフィ)等の超高流体圧力を伴う微少流体用途では、容認可能なほど十分に長い耐用年数を提供しない。機械加工された接手および接着剤は、典型的には、異なる材料から作製される2つの導管または異なるサイズの2つの導管間に頑強な接続を提供することができない。

Claims (22)
- 密閉された微少流体導管アセンブリを加工するための方法であって、前記方法は、
第1の導管の第1の軸方向端区画を第2の導管の第2の軸方向端区画と接触させることによって前記第1の導管が前記第2の導管と流動的に連通する、継手を形成することであって、可鍛性材料の層が、前記第1の軸方向端区画を同軸方向に囲繞し、外被が、前記可鍛性材料の層、前記第1の軸方向端区画、および前記第2の軸方向端区画を同軸方向に囲繞し、前記可鍛性材料の層は、前記第1の導管、前記第2の導管、および前記外被より低い硬度を有する、ことと、
前記継手からある軸方向距離において半径方向力を前記外被の外側表面に印加することによって、前記可鍛性材料の層を前記継手に対して圧縮し、前記継手を流動的に密閉することであって、前記可鍛性材料の層は、流体密閉を形成する、ことと
を含む、方法。 - 前記第1の導管および前記第2の導管は、異なる材料から成る、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の導管および前記第2の導管の一方は、電気伝導性材料から成り、他方は、電気絶縁材料から成る、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 前記可鍛性材料の層を圧縮することは、前記軸方向距離において、前記半径方向力を前記外側表面の周囲の複数の円周方向点に印加することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記継手を形成することは、前記第1の軸方向端区画をフィルタの第1の側と接触させることと、前記第2の軸方向端区画を前記フィルタの反対の第2の側と接触させることとを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項9に記載の方法に従って加工される密閉された微少流体導管アセンブリ。
- 前記第1の導管および前記第2の導管は、実質的に、同一の外径を有し、前記可鍛性材料の層は、前記第2の軸方向端区画を同軸方向に囲繞し、前記可鍛性材料の層を圧縮することは、前記外被の第1の端部に向かって第1の軸方向に、かつ前記外被の第2の端部に向かって反対の第2の軸方向に前記層を押出す、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記半径方向力を印加することは、前記継手から第1の軸方向距離において、第1の半径方向力を前記外側表面に印加することと、前記第1の軸方向距離に対して前記継手の反対側に、前記継手から第2の軸方向距離において、第2の半径方向力を前記外側表面に印加することとを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記可鍛性材料の層を圧縮することは、前記可鍛性材料の個別の部分を前記第1の端部および前記第2の端部から押出し、前記押出された部分を除去することをさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記可鍛性材料の層は、外筒であり、前記継手を形成することは、前記第1の軸方向端区画および前記第2の軸方向端区画を前記外筒の両端内に挿入することを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記可鍛性材料の層は、前記第1の軸方向端区画をコーティングする第1の部分と、前記第2の軸方向端区画をコーティングする第2の部分とを備え、前記継手を形成することは、前記第1の部分でコーティングされた前記第1の軸方向端区画と、および前記第2の部分でコーティングされた前記第2の軸方向端区画とを前記外被の両端内に挿入することを含み、前記可鍛性材料の層を圧縮することは、前記第1の部分および前記第2の部分を相互に接触させるように押出す、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の導管は、前記第2の導管より小さい外径を有し、前記可鍛性材料の層は、前記第2の導管の端面に接触し、前記第1の導管と前記外被との間に介在され、前記可鍛性材料の層を圧縮することは、前記第1の軸方向端区画と半径方向に整合する場所において、前記外側表面に前記半径方向力を印加することを含み、前記可鍛性材料の層は、前記端面に対して圧縮される、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記可鍛性材料の層は、外筒であり、前記継手を形成することは、前記第1の軸方向端区画を前記外筒内に挿入することを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記可鍛性材料の層は、前記第1の軸方向端区画上にコーティングを備え、前記継手を形成することは、前記コーティングを伴う前記第1の軸方向端区画を前記外被の第1の端部内に挿入することと、前記第2の軸方向端区画を前記外被の反対の第2の端部内に挿入することとを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の導管と前記第2の導管との間に形成された前記継手は、第1の継手であり、前記第1の導管と、前記第2の導管と軸方向に反対の第3の導管との間に第2の継手を形成することと、前記第2の継手からある軸方向距離において半径方向力を前記外被の外側表面に印加することによって、前記第2の継手に対して前記可鍛性材料の層を圧縮することとをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項19に記載の方法に従って加工される密閉された微少流体導管アセンブリと、前記密閉された微少流体導管アセンブリと流動的に連通する圧力センサとを備える流動モジュールであって、前記第1の導管の内径は、前記第2の導管および前記第3の導管の内径より小さい、流動モジュール。
- 請求項1に記載の方法に従って加工される密閉された微少流体導管アセンブリ。
- 請求項1に記載の方法に従って加工される密閉された微少流体導管アセンブリを備える電気スプレープローブであって、前記第1の導管は、電気伝導性材料から成る、電気スプレープローブ。
