Abstract
【解決手段】透光性表面層を有する回転部材を備え、この表面層上にインクジェットから材料が吐出される412。光源は、透光性表面層の縁部に光を当て、光学センサは、回転部材の表面層表面の画像データを生成する420。不動作インクジェットは、回転部材の表面層表面の画像データを参照して検出424する装置を備えたオブジェクトを印刷するプリンタ。

Claims (9)
- オブジェクト形成するプリンタであって、
表面層と前記表面層の周囲に沿った縁部とを有する回転体と、
前記回転部材の前記表面層上に材料を吐出するように構成されたプリントヘッドと、
前記回転部材の前記表面層の前記縁部に光を当てるように配置された光源と、
前記回転部材の前記表面層によって出射された光を受光するように配置され、前記回転部材の前記表面層に対応する画像データを生成するように構成された光学センサと、
前記プリントヘッド、前記光源、および前記光学センサに動作可能に接続され、所定のパターンを参照して前記回転部材の前記表面層に材料を吐出するように前記プリントヘッドを動作させ、前記光源が前記回転部材の前記縁部に光を当てている間に前記光学センサによって生成された画像データを受信するように前記光源を選択的に作動させ、前記受信した画像データと前記所定のパターンを参照して前記プリントヘッド内の不動作インクジェットを検出するように構成されたコントローラと、を備えるプリンタ。 - 前記光源は、赤外光源であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記光源は、紫外線光源であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記光源は、レーザダイオードであることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のプリンタ。
- 前記回転部材の前記表面層に離型剤を塗布し、前記回転部材の前記表面層の少なくとも一部から材料を除去するように構成されたドラムメンテナンスユニットをさらに備え、
前記コントローラは、前記ドラムメンテナンスユニットに動作可能に接続され、さらに、前記表面層の表面の少なくとも一部から材料を除去するように前記ドラムメンテナンスユニットを動作させるように構成されている、請求項1に記載のプリンタ。 - 前記回転部材の前記表面層は、屈折率が約1.4〜約1.8の範囲であり、前記プリントヘッドによって吐出される前記材料は、屈折率が約1.3〜約1.5の範囲である、請求項1記載のプリンタ。
- 前記ドラムメンテナンスユニットは、
前記回転部材の前記表面層の少なくとも一部に係合して前記回転部材の前記表面層の少なくとも一部に対して移動するように構成された部材と、
前記部材および前記コントローラに動作可能に接続されたアクチュエータであって、前記回転部材の前記表面層の少なくとも一部に対して前記部材を移動させるように前記コントローラに該アクチュエータを動作させることを可能にするアクチュエータとをさらに備える、請求項5に記載のプリンタ。 - 前記ドラムメンテナンスユニットは、
前記回転部材の前記表面層の少なくとも一部を加熱するために配置されたヒータをさらに備え、
前記コントローラは、前記回転部材の前記表面層の少なくとも一部を加熱して前記回転部材の前記表面層の少なくとも一部から材料を除去するように前記ヒータを動作させるように構成される、請求項5に記載のプリンタ。 - プリントヘッド内の不動作インクジェットを検出する装置であって、
表面層と前記表面層の周囲に沿った縁部とを有する回転体と、
前記回転部材の前記表面層の前記縁部に光を当てるように配置された光源と、
前記回転部材の前記表面層によって出射された光を受光するように配置され、前記回転部材の前記表面層に対応する画像データを生成するように構成された光学センサと、
前記光源および前記光学センサに動作可能に接続され、前記光源が前記回転部材の前記縁部に光を当てている間に前記光学センサによって生成された画像データを受信するように前記光源を選択的に作動させ、前記受信した画像データと所定のパターンを参照して、 上記回転部材の上記表面層に材料を吐出するプリントヘッド内の不動作インクジェットを検出するように構成されたコントローラと、を備える装置。
