Description

The present invention relates to a display panel, a method for assembling the display panel, and an electronic device having the display panel.

Various electric devices and electronic devices are provided with display panels for displaying information and images. In many cases, the display panel includes a plurality of light emitting units. In order to perform a clear display, it is necessary to prevent light from adjacent light emitting portions from interfering with each other. In addition, the electronic device is vulnerable to moisture, and it is desirable that the conductors and contacts are waterproof in order to obtain high reliability. Furthermore, in order to avoid problems such as short circuits, dust resistance is also required. In particular, in electronic devices used in harsh environments such as outdoors and undeveloped land, it is important to ensure waterproofness and dustproofness. For this reason, there is a need for a technique that achieves both interference suppression between adjacent light emitting portions, waterproofness, and dustproofness.

A technique for satisfying the above requirements is disclosed in Patent Document 1, for example. FIG. 13 is a cross-sectional view showing this technique. A substantially columnar LED lamp 402 is fitted into openings 401a provided in the panel 401 and arranged in a matrix, and a cylindrical portion 403a into which each LED lamp 402 is fitted is provided on the back side of the panel 401. A packing 403 made of a substantially box-shaped elastic material including a flat surface is provided. With this structure, the adjacent LED lamps 402 are shielded from light, and watertight contact is formed on the side surfaces of the LED lamps 402. A printed wiring board 404 is provided inside the box shape of the packing 403 and is connected to the LED lamp 402 via a lead 406. A packing 406 is provided on the back surface of the packing 403 to keep the inside watertight.

Patent Document 2 discloses a technique using an elastic body having another three-dimensional structure. FIG. 14 is a sectional view showing this technique. The panel 501 is provided with a plurality of openings. A light transmitting member 502 is fitted in each opening 501a. The light transmitting member 502 is held in a form that fits into the through hole 503a by an elastic holding member 503 made of an elastic body having a through hole 503a at a corresponding position. The elastic holding member 503 also has a light shielding portion 503b extending to the back side, and shields light between adjacent light transmission members 502. A mounting substrate 505 provided with a light emitting element 504 is provided at a position corresponding to the light transmitting member 502 on the back side of the light shielding portion 503. By setting it as such a structure, between adjacent light emitting elements and a light transmissive member is light-shielded. Further, since the light shielding portion 503b serves as a side wall, the space between the light emitting element 504 and the light transmitting member 502 is kept watertight.

However, the techniques of Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2 have a problem that the elastic body has to be formed into a complicated three-dimensional shape. Such a shape can be realized by using, for example, injection molding, but the yield is worse than a simple shape. In addition, because of the structure, the sealing structure is broken even with a slight molding error, so that defects are likely to occur in a display panel as a product. In addition, there is a problem that the assembly process becomes complicated, such as time-consuming positioning for fitting.

The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a method of improving the yield and simplifying the assembly process by using components having a simple structure.

In order to solve the above-described problems, the display panel of the present invention includes a plurality of panels having a plurality of openings, a panel fitting part that fits into the opening part, and a flange part that is locked to the opening part. Light guide means, a flat light-shielding elastic body having a through-hole having a smaller outer shape than the flange at a position corresponding to the opening, and mounting on a flat plate having a mechanism for supplying light to the light guide means A panel, and the panel and the mounting substrate sandwich the light-shielding elastic body.

The effect of the present invention is that a display panel having a clear separation between adjacent display elements and having excellent waterproofness and dustproofness can be formed with a high yield and a simple process.

It is sectional drawing which shows the technique of patent document 2. FIG.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
(First embodiment)
FIG. 1 is a sectional view showing a first embodiment of the present invention. The display panel 100 includes a panel 1 having a plurality of openings 1a, a plurality of light guides 2 having a panel fitting portion 2a fitted to the openings 1a and a flange portion 2b locked to the openings 1a. A flat light-shielding elastic body 3 having a through hole 3a having an outer shape smaller than the flange at a position corresponding to the opening 1a, and a flat mounting substrate 4 having a mechanism for supplying light to the light guide means 2; have. The panel 1 and the mounting substrate 4 sandwich the light-shielding elastic body 3.

By adopting the configuration as described above, using a simple light-blocking elastic body with only a through hole in a flat plate, it is dustproof and waterproof, and light emitted from each light guide means is mixed. A display panel having no display can be formed.
(Second Embodiment)
As an example, a case where a light emitting element having a bullet-shaped lens and incorporating a light source 5 is used as the light guide means 2 will be described. FIG. 2 is a sectional view showing this embodiment. The bullet-shaped light guide means 2 is a panel fitting portion 2a whose side is fitted to the panel 1, and a brim portion 2b is provided at a portion corresponding to the tail portion of the bullet. The flange 2b has a larger outer shape than the opening 1a, and is locked by the edge of the opening 1a when the light guide means 2 is inserted into the opening 1a. A lead 6 for supplying power to the light source 5 is extended from the tail part side of the shell, and is connected to a terminal 7 provided on the mounting substrate 4 through a through hole 3 a provided in the light-shielding elastic body 3. ing. For example, the connection is performed by passing the lead 6 through the through hole 4 a and soldering the terminal 7 with the solder 8. The mounting substrate 4 is fixed to the back surface of the panel 1 by a fixture 9, and the light-shielding elastic body 3 is compressed and sandwiched between the mounting substrate 4 and the panel 1. At this time, the light-shielding elastic body 3 presses the flange portion 2 b of the light guide means 2 against the back surface of the panel 1, thereby fixing the light guide means 2 to the panel 1. In a portion where the light guide means 2 is not provided, the light-shielding elastic body 3 is in close contact with the back surface of the panel 1 and the gap is sealed.

As the material of the panel 1, an opaque metal or resin is suitable. As the light-shielding elastic body 3, a light-shielding sponge, rubber, resin, or the like can be used. Among them, the self-foaming type sponge is particularly suitable because it has flexibility and does not allow water or dust to pass through by compression. As a material of the mounting substrate 4, glass epoxy, resin such as polyimide or polyester, ceramic, or the like can be used. As the light source, for example, an LED, an incandescent bulb, a fluorescent lamp, or the like can be used.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing a method for assembling the display panel of the present embodiment. Here, a case where a screw 9a is used as the fixture 9 will be described as an example. The panel 1 is provided with a receiving portion 1b for screwing a screw 9a, and the mounting substrate 4 is provided with a through hole 4b through which the screw 9a is passed.

Next, an assembly method will be described. First, the light guiding means 2 is fitted into the opening 1 a provided in the panel 1. At this time, the flange 1b is locked to the edge of the opening 1a. Next, the flange portion 2 b and the lead 6 are aligned with the through hole 3 a of the light shielding elastic body 3 and overlapped with the panel 1. Next, the through hole 4a and the lead 6 of the mounting substrate, the through hole 4b and the receiving portion 1b are aligned, and the mounting substrate 4 is superimposed on the light-shielding elastic body 3. Next, the screw 9a is passed through the through hole 4a and screwed into the receiving portion 1a, whereby the assembly of the panel display device 100 is completed.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to assemble a panel display device having dust resistance and waterproofness by a simple process.
(Third embodiment)
According to the first embodiment and the second embodiment, the front side of the panel 1 can be waterproofed and dustproof, but the mounting substrate 4 has an opening such as a through hole 4a as in the example of FIG. If there is, there is a possibility that water or dust may enter from the mounting substrate 4 side. The present embodiment provides a method suitable for such a case.

FIG. 4 is a sectional view showing a third embodiment of the present invention. A sealing member 10 is provided on the back side of the panel 1 so as to cover the light-shielding elastic body 3 and the mounting substrate 4. The seal member 10 is fixed to the back surface of the panel 1 by, for example, an adhesive layer 11.

According to the present embodiment, the display unit of panel display device 100 can be waterproof and dustproof from all directions.
(Fourth embodiment)
In the present embodiment, a columnar light guide 12 having a flange 12c provided near the center is used. FIG. 5 is a side view showing the light guiding means 12 used in the present embodiment. The upper part of the figure is a panel fitting part 12 a that fits into the opening 1 a of the panel 1, and the lower part of the figure is an elastic body fitting part 12 b that fits into the through hole 3 a of the light shielding elastic body 3. A flange portion 12c is provided between the panel fitting portion 12a and the elastic body fitting portion 12b. The elastic body fitting portion 12b is made slightly larger than the inner diameter of the corresponding through hole 3a. By doing so, the side surface of the through hole 3a and the side surface of the elastic body fitting portion 12b are brought into close contact with each other to form a sealing structure. The cross-sectional shape of the light guide means 12 is determined according to the opening 1a and the through hole 3a, and the shape is arbitrary. An example is shown in FIG. 6 (a) shows a circular cross section, FIG. 6 (b) shows a square cross section, FIG. 6 (c) shows a square cross section of the panel fitting portion 12a, a collar portion 12c, and an elastic body fitting portion 12b. In FIG. 6D, the panel fitting portion 12a is hexagonal, the brim portion 12c, and the elastic body fitting portion 12b are circular. In addition to this, arbitrary combinations are possible within a range in which the above-described fitting relationship is maintained.

FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view showing the display panel 100 of the present embodiment. A light source 13 is provided at a position corresponding to the through hole 3 a of the light-shielding elastic body 3. The light source 13 is a surface mount type light source. LED, organic EL, etc. are suitable, but other types of light sources such as lasers can also be used.

The panel fitting portions 12a of the light guide means 12 are inserted into the plurality of openings 1a of the panel 1, respectively. An elastic body fitting portion 12 b is fitted in the through hole 3 a of the light shielding elastic body 3. Since the elastic body fitting portion 12b has a slightly larger outer shape than the through hole 3a, the side surface of the elastic body fitting portion 12b and the side surface of the through hole 3a are in close contact with each other.

The mounting substrate 4 is provided with a light source 13 at a position corresponding to the through hole 3a. The mounting substrate 4 is fixed to the panel 1 by the fixture 9 and at the same time, the light-shielding elastic body 3 is compressed and fixed. With such a configuration, the optical paths of the adjacent light sources are separated, and the inside of the optical system is dustproofed and waterproofed. When the mounting substrate 4 is made of glass epoxy or ceramic, the waterproof property is not sufficient, but when a resin such as polyimide or polyester is used, it is possible to prevent moisture from entering from the mounting substrate side. That is, a waterproof structure on the mounting substrate 4 side can also be formed without providing a sealing means separately.

FIG. 8 is a side view showing a method for assembling the display panel of the present embodiment. First, the panel fitting portions 12a of the light guide member 12 are fitted into the plurality of openings 1a of the panel 1, respectively. Elastic body fitting portions 12b are inserted into the respective through holes 3a of the light-shielding elastic body 3. As is clear from the above description, the light guiding means 12 also plays a role of positioning the opening 1 a of the panel 1 and the through hole 3 a of the light-shielding elastic body 3. The mounting substrate 4 is fixed to the panel 1 by the fixture 9a after aligning the light source 13 and the through hole 3a. At this time, the light-shielding elastic body 3 is compressed, and the space between the light source 13 and the light guide means 12 is waterproof and dustproof.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, each component can be accurately aligned by a simple process, and a waterproof and dustproof structure can be formed with a small number of components.
(Fifth embodiment)
FIG. 9 is a cross-sectional view showing a fifth embodiment of the present invention. In the present embodiment, the light guiding means 12 forms a tapered flange portion 12d having a tapered shape that becomes thinner toward the outside on the elastic body fitting portion 12b side. When the light-shielding elastic body 3 presses the collar portion 12c toward the panel 1, a slight gap 14 is formed at the tip of the collar portion 12c. However, according to the present embodiment, this gap can be reduced. That is, by using this embodiment, the dustproof property and the waterproof property are improved. In addition, this embodiment is effective also in the shape where the light guide means 2 does not have an elastic body fitting part like the 1st, 2nd, 3rd embodiment.
(Sixth embodiment)
If the light-shielding elastic body 3 is a soft material such as a sponge, the followability to the outer shape of the flange portions 12c and 12d is good, but in the case of rubber or resin having a certain degree of hardness, the followability is poor. The gap 14 tends to increase. In order to prevent this, in the present embodiment, a counterbore 3b is provided on the side of the through hole 3a that contacts the flanges 12c and 12d. FIG. 10 shows a cross-sectional view. FIG. 10A shows an example of a shape suitable for the outer shape of the collar portion 12c, and FIG. 10B shows an example of a shape suitable for the tapered collar portion 12d. By providing the counterbore 3b, the gap 14 can be made smaller and the waterproofness and dustproofness can be improved. Further, the depth of the spot facing 3b is made slightly smaller than the thickness 15 of the brim portion indicated by the dotted line. By doing so, it is possible to ensure adhesion between the flange portions 12c and 12d and the light-shielding elastic body 3.

As mentioned above, according to this Embodiment, the space | gap of an adhesion part becomes small and it can improve dustproof property and waterproofness.
(Seventh embodiment)
The display panel of the present invention can be applied to various electronic devices and electric appliances. FIG. 11 is a perspective view showing an example applied to the electronic device 200. Specific examples include a server, a personal computer, a router, and a communication device. FIG. 12 is a perspective view showing an example applied to the display 300. For example, an outdoor large display is required to be waterproof and dustproof, and thus the present invention is preferably applied.

As described above, according to the present invention, a small number of parts having a simple shape and a simple construction method ensure a light shielding property between adjacent display units, and constitute a display panel excellent in dustproof and waterproof functions. be able to.
