Abstract
Description
Claims (8)
- 対応する入力コンテンツ・ストリームから適応的にトランスコーディングされた出力コンテンツ・ストリームをストリーミングする方法であって、
クライアント機器による選択用に、前記出力コンテンツ・ストリームの多数の代替バージョンを前記クライアント機器に提示するステップと、
前記入力コンテンツ・ストリームを2つ以上のセグメントに分割するステップと、
前記提示するステップの前に、前記入力コンテンツ・ストリームの少なくとも第1のセグメントを、前記クライアント機器に提示される前記多数の代替バージョンのうちの少なくとも1つのバージョンに対応する出力コンテンツ・ストリームの少なくとも1つの対応するセグメントに、トランスコーディングして記憶するステップと、
前記出力コンテンツ・ストリームの選択されたバージョンのチャンクをストリーミングする要求を、前記クライアント機器から受信するステップと、
前記提示するステップの前にトランスコーディングされた、前記クライアント機器に提示される前記多数の代替バージョンのうちの少なくとも1つのバージョンに対応する出力コンテンツ・ストリームの前記少なくとも1つの対応するセグメントのうちの最初のものを用いてストリーミングを開始するステップと、
前記入力コンテンツ・ストリームの次のセグメントの、前記クライアント機器によって選択されたバージョンへのトランスコーディングを制御するトランスコーディング・パラメータを前記要求から抽出するステップと、
要求されたバージョンにトランスコーディングされた前記次のセグメントをストリーミングするステップと、
を含む前記方法。 - 前記入力コンテンツ・ストリームの前記少なくとも第1のセグメントが、前記クライアント機器に提示される前記多数の代替バージョンのうちの複数のバージョンの対応するセグメントに予めトランスコーディングされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記要求に応答して直ちにストリーミングされる前記少なくとも第1のセグメントに対応するセグメントが、クライアントの再生能力に適合するバージョンから選択される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記要求に応答して直ちにストリーミングされる前記少なくとも第1のセグメントに対応するセグメントが、前記クライアント機器から受信された前記要求から抽出されたトランスコーディング・パラメータに可能な限り近似して適合するトランスコーディング・パラメータを有するバージョンから選択される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- トランスコーディングは、フォーマット、空間又は時間解像度、データ・レート、及び、品質のうちの少なくとも1つが、それぞれの入力のフォーマット、空間又は時間解像度、データ・レート、及び、品質と異なる出力コンテンツ・ストリームを生成することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記入力コンテンツ・ストリームの次のセグメントのトランスコーディングを制御する前記トランスコーディング・パラメータは、前記入力コンテンツ・ストリームを提供するサーバと前記クライアント機器との間の接続のセグメントの容量についての情報に基づいて変更される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記提示するステップは次のセグメント毎に繰り返され、提示されるセグメントの少なくとも1つのバリアントが、現在供給されているセグメントを対象にする要求から抽出されるパラメータに従ってトランスコーディングされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に従う方法を行うように構成された装置。
