Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric vibrating piece, a piezoelectric vibrator, an oscillator, an electronic device, and a radio timepiece.
In cellular phones and portable information terminal devices, piezoelectric vibrators using quartz or the like are used as time sources, timing sources of control signals, reference signal sources, and the like. Various piezoelectric vibrators of this type are provided, and one of them is a piezoelectric vibrator having a so-called tuning fork type piezoelectric vibrating piece.
By the way, in recent years, with the downsizing of devices to be mounted, further downsizing of the piezoelectric vibrating piece is desired. As a method of reducing the size of the piezoelectric vibrating piece while keeping the CI value (Crystal Impedance) of the piezoelectric vibrator low, a method of forming grooves on both main surfaces of the vibrating arm portion of the piezoelectric vibrating piece is known ( For example, see Patent Document 1).
FIG. 14 is an explanatory diagram of the prior art, and is a cross-sectional view along a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the vibrating
In general, it is known that the CI value of the piezoelectric vibrating piece in which the
In addition, to improve the performance of the piezoelectric vibrating piece, it is important to suppress vibration leakage and ensure good drive level characteristics.
Here, the vibration leakage means leakage of vibration energy in which the vibration of the piezoelectric vibrating piece leaks to the outside when the piezoelectric vibrating piece is operated. Since this vibration leakage leads to deterioration of the efficiency of the piezoelectric vibrating piece, it is necessary to suppress the vibration leakage as much as possible.
The drive level characteristic is a fluctuation characteristic of the vibration frequency of the piezoelectric vibrating piece with respect to a fluctuation of the drive voltage. It can be said that the smaller the variation Δf of the vibration frequency, the better the drive level characteristic and the higher the performance of the piezoelectric vibrating piece.
In general, it is known that vibration leakage and drive level characteristics of a piezoelectric vibrating piece depend on the rigidity of the vibrating
By the way, the piezoelectric vibrating piece of Patent Document 1 includes a base portion on which a base electrode portion (corresponding to the “mount electrode” of the present application) is formed, and a vibration thin rod formed by projecting from the base portion (“vibrating arm portion of the present application”). ”), A groove portion having a groove electrode portion (corresponding to“ excitation electrode ”of the present application) formed on the front surface and / or back surface of the vibrating rod, and the base electrode portion and the groove electrode portion are connected to each other. And a connection electrode portion (corresponding to “extraction electrode” in the present application). The width of the base end side of the groove portion is narrower than other portions, and a wide region for forming the connection electrode portion is secured. In Patent Document 1, since the cross-sectional area S on the base end side of the vibrating
However, in Patent Document 1, since only the base end side of the vibrating arm portion is rigid, securing of the entire vibrating
Accordingly, the present invention provides a piezoelectric vibrating piece that can suppress vibration leakage and secure a good drive level characteristic while suppressing a CI value low, and a piezoelectric vibrator, an oscillator, an electronic device, and a radio timepiece using the piezoelectric vibrating piece. The issue is to provide
In order to solve the above-described problem, a piezoelectric vibrating piece according to the present invention is formed on a pair of vibrating arm portions arranged side by side and both main surfaces of the vibrating arm portion, along the longitudinal direction of the vibrating arm portion. A piezoelectric vibrating piece provided with a base part to which the pair of vibrating arm parts are connected, and a plurality of the groove parts arranged side by side in the lateral direction of the vibrating arm part, and The width of the wall portion formed between the groove portions is larger in the width of the wall portion on the base end side of the vibrating arm portion than the width of the wall portion on the distal end side of the vibrating arm portion. It is formed as follows.
According to the present invention, a plurality of groove portions are formed side by side in the width direction of the vibrating arm portion, and the width of the wall portion formed between the groove portions is closer to the proximal end side than the distal end side of the vibrating arm portion. By forming the wall portion so as to have a larger width, the rigidity of the entire vibrating arm can be improved as compared with the conventional technique. Therefore, vibration leakage can be suppressed and good drive level characteristics can be secured. Furthermore, since the width of the wall on the proximal end side is larger than the distal end side of the vibrating arm, it is possible to increase the rigidity of the proximal end of the vibrating arm while increasing the rigidity of the entire vibrating arm. become.
Further, since the rigidity of the vibrating arm portion is increased without reducing the width of the base end side of the groove portion as in Patent Document 1, the width between the side surface of the vibrating arm portion and the side surface of the groove portion is increased over the entire area where the groove portion is formed. The CI value can be suppressed low.
Moreover, the said groove part may be formed three per said vibration arm part.
According to the present invention, better drive level characteristics can be secured as compared with the conventional example. As a result, the balance between the vibration leakage and drive level characteristics and the CI value can be adjusted to a desired state.
The width of the groove on the base end side of the vibrating arm may be narrower than the width of the groove on the distal end of the vibrating arm.
According to the present invention, the width between the side surface of the vibrating arm portion and the side surface of the groove portion is formed wide on the base end side of the vibrating arm portion, and the interval between adjacent groove portions is formed wide on the base end side of the vibrating arm portion. The cross-sectional area on the proximal end side of the vibrating arm portion can be made larger than the cross-sectional area on the distal end side of the vibrating arm portion. Thereby, since the rigidity of the base end side of a vibrating arm part can be improved, a vibration leak is further suppressed and a favorable drive level characteristic is securable. As a result, the balance between the vibration leakage and drive level characteristics and the CI value can be adjusted to a desired state.
In addition, a side base that extends from the base toward the distal end of the vibrating arm may be formed outside the vibrating arm.
According to this configuration, by mounting the piezoelectric vibrating piece on the side base portion, the distance from the vibrating arm portion to the mounting portion can be increased, that is, the vibration generated in the vibrating arm portion can be sufficiently attenuated. . Therefore, good drive level characteristics can be ensured.

According to the present invention, a wall is formed between each groove portion by forming a plurality of groove portions aligned in the width direction of the vibration arm portion, so that the cross-sectional area of the vibration arm portion in the entire region where the groove portion is formed. Can be widened. As a result, the rigidity of the vibrating arm portion can be increased in the entire region where the groove portion is formed, compared to the case where the width of the base end side of one groove portion is narrowed as in Patent Document 1, so that vibration leakage is suppressed and good. Secure drive level characteristics.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
(Piezoelectric vibrating piece)
First, a piezoelectric vibrating piece according to an embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a plan view of the piezoelectric vibrating piece 1.
2 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA in FIG.
As shown in FIG. 1, the piezoelectric vibrating reed 1 of this embodiment includes a pair of vibrating
The piezoelectric vibrating piece 1 of the present embodiment is a tuning fork type vibrating piece formed of a piezoelectric material such as quartz, lithium tantalate, or lithium niobate, and vibrates when a predetermined voltage is applied.
The pair of vibrating
(Groove)
As shown in FIG. 1, the vibrating
The outer groove
The
An
The
A
As shown in FIG. 1, the
The pair of
Specifically, as shown in FIG. 2, the

As shown in FIG. 1, weights including a

As shown in FIG. 1, the piezoelectric vibrating reed 1 according to the present embodiment includes a base 4 to which a pair of vibrating
By connecting the −Y side of the vibrating

(Effect of embodiment)
According to the present embodiment, by forming the
Further, according to the present embodiment, on the −Y side of the vibrating

(First Modification of Embodiment)
Next, a first modification of the embodiment will be described.

The vibrating

(Second Modification of Embodiment)
Next, a second modification of the embodiment will be described.
FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram of the piezoelectric vibrating piece 1 according to the first modification of the embodiment.
In the above-described embodiment, the
On the other hand, in the second modification of the embodiment, the
In the above points, the second modification of the present embodiment is different from the embodiment. In addition, description is abbreviate | omitted about the component similar to embodiment.
As shown in FIG. 5, the
Further, the
As described above, by forming the

As shown in FIG. 8, the

As shown in FIG. 9, on the first surface U side of the

Next, an embodiment of an oscillator according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
As shown in FIG. 10, the

Next, an embodiment of an electronic apparatus according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. Note that a
First, the
Next, the configuration of the
The
The
The
The
In addition, the

(Radio watch)
Next, an embodiment of a radio timepiece according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.
As shown in FIG. 12, the radio-controlled
In Japan, there are transmitting stations (transmitting stations) that transmit standard radio waves in Fukushima Prefecture (40 kHz) and Saga Prefecture (60 kHz), each transmitting standard radio waves. Long waves such as 40 kHz or 60 kHz have both the property of propagating the ground surface and the property of propagating while reflecting the ionosphere and the ground surface, so the propagation range is wide, and the above two transmitting stations cover all of Japan. doing.

In addition, although the above-mentioned description was shown in the example in Japan, the frequency of the long standard wave is different overseas. For example, in Germany, a standard radio wave of 77.5 KHz is used. Therefore, when the

The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above.
In the present embodiment, the piezoelectric vibrating piece 1 of the present invention is used for the surface-mount type
In the present embodiment, two groove portions are formed in the vibrating
In the present embodiment and the second modification of the present embodiment, the groove portion is formed so as to become narrower in a tapered shape from the + Y side toward the −Y side. However, for example, the groove portion may be formed so as to be narrowed stepwise.
