Abstract
【解決手段】芳香環コアを有するジアミド化合物を含む結晶性成分、非晶質成分、および場合により色素、を含む相変化インク組成物であり、非晶質成分が、ジ−DL−メチルL−酒石酸、ジ−L−メチルL−酒石酸、ジ−L−メチルDL−酒石酸、ジ−DL−メチルDL−酒石酸またはこれらの立体異性体もしくは混合物からなる群から選択される相変化インク組成物。前記ジアミド化合物が、パラ位、メタ位にアミド基を2個有するベンゼン系化合物である相変化インク組成物。

インク試料をT3またはI9、非晶質材料(ジ−DL−メチルL−酒石酸)(DMT)および染料または顔料の濃縮液から配合した。この配合物を表4に示し、インク試料を、Ink1(実施例3)、Ink2(実施例4)およびInk3(実施例5)と名付けた。顔料濃縮液は、非晶質DMT、シアン顔料B4G、分散剤(Solsperse 32000)および相乗剤(SunFlo SFD−B124)を含有した。顔料濃縮液の顔料濃度は10重量%であった。その比は、得られたインクに2重量%の顔料添加をもたらした。
結晶化の速度は、作製したインクの特徴である。結晶化の速度は、印刷後インクが触れられる速度を決定し、この速度は印刷速度および普通紙に対する裏抜けに影響を与える。結晶化の速度が速いほど、高速の印刷が可能である。結晶化の速度は、時間分解光学顕微鏡法(Time−Resolved Optical Microscopy)(「TROM」)を使用して測定した。TROM法は、米国特許出願第13/456,847号明細書、2011年4月26日出願、発明者名Gabriel Iftimeら、表題Time Resolved Optical Microscopy(“TROM)Process for Measuring the Rate of Crystallization of Solid Inksに詳細に記載されており、当該特許の開示は、参照によりその全体が本明細書に組み込まれる。得られた結晶化データの速度を表5に示す。
Ink1、2および3を、Xerox(登録商標)Digital Color Elite Gloss、120gsm(DCEG)コート紙に、低圧に設定した加圧ロールを装備したK−prooferグラビア印刷プレートを使用して印刷した。グラビアプレートの温度は142℃に設定したが、実際のプレート温度は約134℃であった。K−proofer装置(RK Print Coat Instrument Ltd.,Litlington,Royston, Heris,SG8 0OZ, U.K.製)は、さまざまなインクを小規模で選別し、さまざまな基材上の画像品質を評価するために有用な印刷ツールである。該インクは、基材から容易に剥がすことができない堅牢な画像をもたらした。垂直から15°の角度で528gの重さをかけて、金属の湾曲した先端を、およそ13mm/sの速度で画像を横切らせても、、インクは目で見たところ画像から全く剥がれなかった。この先端は、およそ12mmの曲率半径を有する旋盤の先の丸い切削ビットと同様である。
Claims (10)
- 芳香環コアを有するジアミド化合物を含む結晶性成分、
非晶質成分、および
場合により色素、
を含む相変化インク組成物。 - 非晶質成分が、ジ−DL−メチルL−酒石酸、ジ−L−メチルL−酒石酸、ジ−L−メチルDL−酒石酸、ジ−DL−メチルDL−酒石酸またはこれらの立体異性体もしくは混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 相変化インク組成物を含むインクジェット印刷デバイスを提供するステップであり、該相変化インク組成物は、固体形態であり、(a)芳香環コアを有するジアミド化合物を含む結晶性成分、(b)非晶質成分、および(c)場合によって色素を含む、提供するステップ、
前記固体相変化インク組成物を、前記組成物の融点を超える温度に加熱し、前記インク組成物を液化するステップ、および
前記液化されたインク組成物を、インクジェット印刷デバイスから基材に噴射し、画像を形成するステップ、
を含む方法。
