Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a recording apparatus and a recording method for recording on a fabric as a recording medium.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a recording apparatus that records on a fabric as a recording medium has been used. Since there are various ground colors for the fabric as the recording medium, such a recording apparatus is equipped with white ink for recording in a desired color without being affected by the ground color. There are many. This is because it is possible to form an image with color inks after applying white ink to suppress the influence of the ground color of the fabric.
For example,
On the other hand, the white ink as described above is intended to suppress the influence of the ground color of the fabric. For this reason, in order to make a lot of white color material exist on the surface of the fabric, it may be necessary to increase the amount of white ink applied to the fabric. This is because if the amount of white ink applied to the fabric is small, an image may be formed in a color different from the desired color due to the influence of the ground color of the fabric.
However, when the amount of white ink applied to the fabric is increased, the white ink may overflow and the quality of the recorded image may deteriorate.
When the white ink is overlapped and recorded a plurality of times as in the image forming method of
On the other hand, the image forming method disclosed in
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to make it possible to increase the amount of white ink applied to a fabric without deteriorating the quality of a recorded image.
A recording apparatus according to a first aspect of the present invention for solving the above-described problem includes a support unit that supports a fabric as a recording medium, and a recording that uses white ink for the recording medium that is supported by the support unit. And a moving mechanism for moving the support portion relative to the recording head, and performing the relative movement by the moving mechanism a plurality of times, so that recording is performed in the previous relative movement of the relative movement. When the white ink is wet, the white ink is overlapped so as to at least partially overlap the wet white ink in a later relative movement.
Here, the “moving mechanism for moving the support portion relative to the recording head” moves the support portion relative to the recording head (conveys the recording medium supported by the support portion). ) Meaning not limited to the configuration. That is, it also includes a configuration in which the recording head is moved relative to the support portion and a configuration in which both are moved relative to each other.
In addition, the “moist state” means that it is included unless it is in a dry state.
According to this aspect, in the state in which the white ink recorded in the previous relative movement among the relative movements is wet, at least a part of the white ink in the wet state is overlapped in the subsequent relative movement. To record. In this way, the white ink is recorded divided into the plurality of times. For this reason, it is possible to increase the amount of white ink applied to the fabric as a recording medium without causing a decrease in smoothness of the recorded image and band unevenness.
The recording apparatus according to a second aspect of the present invention is the recording apparatus according to the first aspect, wherein the amount of the white ink applied per unit area when recording with the white ink is determined in advance by the plurality of times of recording. It is characterized in that it becomes a coating amount.
Here, “the predetermined application amount is obtained by the plurality of times of recording” means that the predetermined amount of white ink is not applied by the recording by the relative movement of one time, but the relative amount of times of the plurality of times. This means that a predetermined amount of white ink is applied divided into recording by movement. For example, when coating a predetermined amount of it is the coating amount when recording once with a resolution of 2880 dpi × 1440 dpi, 1inch 2 around the number of dots becomes 4,147,200. This total number of dots of 1inch 2 around when recording twice with a resolution of 1440 dpi × 1440 dpi is the same number of dots becomes 4,147,200 against. Therefore, when the amount of ink forming one dot (drop volume) is the same, ink is applied per unit area when recording once at a resolution of 2880 dpi × 1440 dpi and when recording twice at a resolution of 1440 dpi × 1440 dpi. The amount will be the same.
When recording at a resolution of 1440 dpi × 1440 dpi, recording at the same drive frequency (ejection frequency) can be performed at a higher recording speed per scan of the recording head than when recording at a resolution of 2880 dpi × 1440 dpi. For this reason, according to this aspect, it is possible to suppress a decrease in recording speed due to recording divided into a plurality of times.
The recording apparatus according to a third aspect of the present invention is the recording apparatus according to the first or second aspect, wherein the plurality of times are two times, and the second relative time is the time of recording by the first relative movement by the moving mechanism. The recording is performed so that the amount of the white ink applied is larger than that in the recording by movement.
According to this aspect, recording is performed such that the amount of application when the white ink is applied on a recording medium that is not wet is larger than that when the white ink is applied on a wet recording medium. The ink spreading on the wet recording medium can be suppressed more than the ink on the recording medium not wet. By applying a large amount of ink at the time of recording by the first relative movement capable of suppressing the spread of ink, the amount of ink applied at the time of recording by the second relative movement in which the ink is likely to spread is reduced. Can do. In this way, it is possible to suppress the spread (overflow) of the total ink of the recording by the first relative movement and the recording by the second relative movement. For this reason, the overflow of the white ink on the recording medium can be effectively suppressed. In particular, when the recording medium is pre-processed, the pre-treatment agent can infiltrate more into the white ink during the first relative movement recording. Ink overflow can be suppressed.
In the recording apparatus according to the fourth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to third aspects, the total amount of the white ink applied can be recorded at 200 mg / inch 2 or more by the plurality of times of recording. It is characterized by being.
According to this aspect, by dividing and recording in the plurality of times, it is possible to record the total amount of the white ink applied in the plurality of times of recording at 200 mg / inch 2 or more. That is, it is possible to sufficiently increase the amount of white ink applied to the fabric as a recording medium.
A recording apparatus according to a fifth aspect of the present invention is the recording apparatus according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, wherein an ink other than the white ink is mounted, and the resolution at the time of recording with the white ink is the white ink. Recording is performed so as to be higher than the resolution at the time of recording with other ink.
According to this aspect, the resolution at the time of recording with the white ink is higher than the resolution at the time of recording with an ink other than the white ink. That is, with the same drop volume, it is possible to increase the amount of white ink applied compared to ink other than white ink such as color ink. As described above, the white ink has to be applied in a large amount, whereas the color ink or the like does not have to be applied as much as the white ink.
In particular, when the recording medium is preprocessed, the white ink recorded directly on the preprocessed recording medium is fixed without overflowing to the recording medium due to the effect of the pretreatment agent even if the amount of application is large. Is possible. On the other hand, since the color ink is recorded on the white ink, the effect of the pretreatment agent does not reach, and if the application amount is the same as that of the white ink, overflow may occur and the quality of the recorded image may be lowered. According to this aspect, such a case can be suppressed.
In the recording apparatus according to a sixth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to fifth aspects, the resolution in the direction intersecting the fiber direction of the recording medium is higher than the resolution in the direction along the fiber direction. It is characterized by recording so as to be higher.
In general, a fabric has a fiber direction, and ink applied to the fabric tends to be fixed after the ink flows along the fiber direction. That is, the ink tends to spread in the direction along the fiber direction, and unevenness in the direction along the fiber direction tends to occur. According to this aspect, since the recording is performed such that the resolution in the direction intersecting the fiber direction is higher than the resolution in the direction along the fiber direction, such unevenness can be suppressed.
Here, “recording so that the resolution in the direction intersecting the fiber direction of the recording medium is higher than the resolution in the direction along the fiber direction” specifically means intersecting with the fiber direction of the recording medium. This means that the recording direction is such that the dots of white ink formed on the recording medium are denser than the direction along the fiber direction. The “fiber direction” means not only the direction of the fiber itself constituting the recording medium but also the direction along the groove-shaped concave portion appearing on the surface of the recording medium formed by knitting the fiber. It is.
The fiber direction of the recording medium is generally the same depending on the type of fabric as the recording medium. For this reason, for example, the recording medium to be used and the setting direction of the recording medium can be set, and the resolution in the direction along the fiber direction of the recording medium and the direction intersecting the fiber direction corresponding to the setting direction This mode can be implemented by adopting a configuration in which the setting can be made. In addition, the present embodiment can also be configured by notifying the user of the set direction of the recording medium by a recording apparatus or another means, and recording at a desired resolution in both directions corresponding to the set direction. It can be implemented.
A recording method according to a seventh aspect of the present invention for solving the above-described problem includes a support unit that supports a fabric as a recording medium, and recording using white ink for the recording medium that is supported by the support unit. Is a recording method that includes a recording head and a moving mechanism that moves the support unit relative to the recording head, and performs a relative movement by the moving mechanism a plurality of times. In the state where the white ink recorded in the previous relative movement of the relative movement is moist, the white ink is overlapped so as to at least partially overlap the moist white ink in the subsequent relative movement. It is characterized by that.

Further, the
Due to such a configuration, it is possible to suppress a decrease in recording speed due to recording divided into a plurality of times, and to sufficiently increase the amount of white ink applied to the fabric as a recording medium. Is possible.
The decrease in the recording speed can be suppressed when the recording is performed at the resolution of 1440 dpi × 1440 dpi rather than the recording at the resolution of 2880 dpi × 1440 dpi. This is because the recording speed can be increased.
In the
However, depending on the type of white ink to be used, etc., at least a part of the application position of the white ink overlaps between the recording by the first relative movement and the recording by the second relative movement. Alternatively, the coating may be performed so as to shift.
Further, the
In this recording mode, recording is performed such that the coating amount when white ink is applied on a recording medium that is not wet is larger than that when white ink is applied on a wet recording medium. Overflow of white ink on the recording medium can be suppressed. In particular, when the recording medium is preprocessed, the pretreatment agent can infiltrate more into the white ink during the first relative movement recording, and the effect of the pretreatment agent becomes significant. The overflow of the white ink on the recording medium can be suppressed more effectively.
Each recording mode is a recording mode in which the relative movement is performed twice and recording is performed twice in the same recording area. However, the
Note that the

First, the user selects the type of recording medium on which recording is to be performed using the control panel 9 from the plurality of recording media displayed on the
Next, the setting direction of the recording medium is displayed on the
Next, after setting the recording medium in the setting direction, the user issues a recording execution command using the control panel 9.
Then, the
When the recording medium is a fabric, the fiber direction is generally determined depending on the type. For example, in general, the fiber direction in a T-shirt is the length direction. Since the ink applied to the fabric tends to be fixed after the ink flows along the fiber direction, the ink tends to spread in the direction along the fiber direction, and unevenness in the direction along the fiber direction tends to occur. That is, when recording on a T-shirt, unevenness is likely to occur in the length direction.
For this reason, for example, when a T-shirt is selected by the user as the recording medium, the
That is, in the
