Abstract
【解決手段】宇宙または高高度用途に用いる耐放射線シールドであって、前記シールドは、可撓性ポリマー材料の層状の基材内に保持される複数の重なり合った平面ガラス断片を備え、前記断片のそれぞれは、宇宙または高高度用途における使用に好適な耐放射線ガラスから形成され、前記基材の層状方向に整列して配置される。

Claims (19)
- 宇宙または高高度用途に用いる耐放射線シールドであって、
前記シールドは、可撓性ポリマー材料の層状の基材内に保持される複数の重なり合った平面ガラス断片を備え、前記断片のそれぞれは、宇宙または高高度用途における使用に好適な耐放射線ガラスから形成され、前記基材の層の方向に整列して配置されるシールド。 - 前記断片が少なくとも0.5μm厚である請求項1に記載のシールド。
- 前記断片が3μmから10μmの間の厚さである請求項1または2に記載のシールド。
- 前記断片の長さ及び幅の少なくとも一方が0.5mmから1mmの間である請求項1から3のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記耐放射線ガラスはセリウムドープガラスである請求項1から4のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記耐放射線ガラスは酸化セリウムを含有する請求項1から5のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記耐放射線ガラスはホウケイ酸ガラスである請求項1から6のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記耐放射線ガラスはCMXガラスである請求項1から7のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記耐放射線ガラスはCMGガラスである請求項1から7のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記耐放射線ガラスはCMOガラスである請求項1から7のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記基材はシリコン樹脂を含む請求項1から10のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記基材はフッ化エチレンプロピレンを含む請求項1から11のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記基材はポリイミドを含む請求項1から12のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記断片は前記基材全体にわたって積層構成となっている請求項1から13のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 複数の前記重なり合った断片のそれぞれが前記ポリマー材料を実質的に含まない露出面を形成し、それにより、全体として、この層の外表面を画定する層を形成する請求項1から14のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記シールドは、宇宙船への適用に好適なシートまたはフィルムの形で提供される請求項1から15のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記シールドは、宇宙船の表面に適用される被覆の形で提供される請求項1から15のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 前記シールドは、太陽電池アレイ上の保護層として提供される請求項1から17のいずれか一つに記載のシールド。
- 宇宙または高高度用途に用いる耐放射線シールドであって、実質的には、添付の図面の図3から図5に関連して記載され、図3から図5に示されているシールド。
