Claims (30)
- 一酸化二窒素と燃料との混合物の分解および燃焼から仕事を取り出す機関であって、
前記混合物内の前記一酸化二窒素は、窒素と酸素とに、窒素は2、酸素は1となる割合で分解し、
前記混合物の燃焼および分解から発生した使用済ガスは、1kWhの仕事量当たり0.7kg以下の二酸化炭素を含有する機関。 - 前記混合物は、前記一酸化二窒素を、質量で表現すると、燃料1ごとに、一酸化二窒素が10より大きくなる割合で含有する請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記混合物内の前記燃料の燃焼は、前記一酸化窒素が窒素と酸素とに分解することを助ける請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素の、前記燃料に対する質量比は、燃料1につき、一酸化二窒素が10より大きくなる割合である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素の、前記燃料に対する質量比は、燃料1につき、一酸化二窒素が9より大きくなる割合である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素の、前記燃料に対する質量比は、燃料1につき、一酸化二窒素が8より大きくなる割合である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素の、前記燃料に対する質量比は、燃料1につき、一酸化二窒素が7より大きくなる割合である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素の、前記燃料に対する質量比は、燃料1につき、一酸化二窒素が6より大きくなる割合である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素の、前記燃料に対する質量比は、燃料1につき、一酸化二窒素が5より大きくなる割合である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素の、前記燃料に対する質量比は、燃料1につき、一酸化二窒素が4より大きくなる割合である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 当該機関は、それの動力のうちの50%より多い部分を、前記一酸化二窒素の分解から取り出す請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記燃料は、炭化水素である請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記混合物は、さらに、水を、質量で表現すると、一酸化二窒素100ごとに、水が30未満となる割合で含有し、
前記水は、当該機関の作動温度を低下させる請求項1に記載の機関。 - 前記一酸化二窒素および前記燃料は、互いに異なるコンテナ内に貯蔵されるとともに、当該機関へのインジェクションに先立って混合される請求項1に記載の機関。
- 前記一酸化二窒素および前記燃料は、別々に当該機関内にインジェクトされる請求項1に記載の機関。
- 自動車に組み込まれる請求項1に記載の機関。
- 回転シャフトの仕事を発生させる発電所に組み込まれる請求項1に記載の機関。
- 一酸化二窒素と燃料との混合物である一酸化二窒素混合燃料であって、
前記一酸化二窒素を、質量で表現すると、燃料1ごとに、一酸化二窒素が9より大きくなる割合で含有し、
前記混合物内の前記一酸化二窒素は、窒素と酸素とに、窒素は2、酸素は1となる割合で分解するとともに、エネルギーを放出するように構成される一酸化二窒素混合燃料。 - 前記混合物内の前記燃料の燃焼および前記一酸化二窒素の分解により、1kWhの仕事量当たり0.7kg未満の二酸化炭素が発生する請求項18に記載の一酸化二窒素混合燃料。
- 前記混合物内の前記燃料の燃焼が、前記一酸化二窒素が窒素と酸素とに分解するための触媒として作用する請求項18に記載の一酸化二窒素混合燃料。
- 前記燃料は、炭化水素である請求項18に記載の一酸化二窒素混合燃料。
- さらに、水を、質量で表現すると、一酸化二窒素100ごとに、水が30未満となる割合で含有する請求項18に記載の一酸化二窒素混合燃料。
- 一酸化二窒素と燃料との混合物を機関に供給する供給工程と、
前記燃料を前記機関内において点火して燃焼させる点火/燃焼工程と、
前記一酸化二窒素を前記機関内において分解する分解工程と、
前記分解する一酸化二窒素と前記燃焼する燃料から仕事を取り出す取出し工程と、
1kWhの仕事量当たり0.7kg以下の二酸化炭素を含有する使用済ガスを排出する排出工程と
を含む方法。 - さらに、窒素分子および酸素分子を含有する使用済ガスを排出する排出工程を含む請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記一酸化二窒素は、窒素と酸素とに、窒素は2、酸素は1となる割合で分解する請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記燃料の燃焼は、前記一酸化窒素が窒素と酸素とに分解することを助ける請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記燃料は、炭化水素である請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記混合物は、前記一酸化二窒素を、質量で表現すると、燃料1ごとに、一酸化二窒素が9より大きくなる割合で含有する請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記供給工程は、前記機関へのインジェクションに先立ち、前記一酸化二窒素と前記燃料とを混合する混合工程を含む請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記供給工程は、前記一酸化二窒素と前記燃料とを前記機関内に別々にインジェクトするインジェクション工程を含む請求項23に記載の方法。
