Description
前記少なくとも1つの経路は、(i)上方傾斜部と、(ii)外部の部分を有する下方傾斜部と、(iii)落とし罠領域とを備え、
前記上方傾斜部および前記下方傾斜部の少なくとも外部の部分は、少なくとも約2.5マイクロメーターの平均表面粗さを有することを特徴とする。
Trece Inc. によって販売され、grain beetle、cigarette beetleおよびflour beetleのような貯穀害虫を捕獲する産業において使用されているThe Dome(登録商標)Trapを落とし罠とし、Climex lectularius種の南京虫を誘い出す実験を試みた。この罠は、でこぼこの外側の表面を有する硬いプラスチックから製造され構成されているが、南京虫の罠として作用するには不十分な粗さであったことがわかった。この罠の外表面を、120から320グリットのサンドペーパーを使用し粗くした時は、滑りすぎるので、南京虫はその表面を登ることを避けてしまうという事は、もはや観察されなかった。
タングルフットの直径25mmの塗抹罠(ハエのような虫の罠のために使用される粘着表面)にヘキセナールおよびオクテナールのそれぞれを4マイクログラムずつ染み込ませた。食物を与えていない25匹の成虫のClimex lectularius種の南京虫を、直接罠の上に配置した。その結果、南京虫は誘引されてその表面に止まってはいるのだが、何れの南京虫も粘着表面によって罠に掛かっていない事が観察された。
重量比率で20%のガラス繊維を含むポリプロピレン(“PP−G”)を作ることによって、1.5インチ×2.0インチの寸法である平面サンプル片を準備した。そのサンプル片の平均表面粗さは、Mahr Pocket Surf(登録商標)portable roughness gageを使用して測定した。当該サンプル片を、約70度の角度で傾斜させた台上に配置した。成虫の南京虫(Climex lectularius)を当該サンプル片の中央上に配置し、南京虫が表面を歩行したり登ったりすることが可能か、または表面上につかまっているのが不可能で落ちてしまうかどうかを観察するため、約5分間視覚によって監視した。
Claims (17)
- (a)南京虫の誘引要素、および、(b)少なくとも1つの経路を含む落とし罠捕獲要素を備え、
前記少なくとも1つの経路は、(i)上方傾斜部と、(ii)外部の部分を有する下方傾斜部と、(iii)落とし罠領域とを備え、
前記上方傾斜部および前記下方傾斜部の少なくとも外部の部分は、少なくとも約2.5マイクロメーターの平均表面粗さを有することを特徴とする、南京虫捕獲装置。 - 前記上方傾斜部、および、内部への傾斜部の少なくとも外部の部分は、少なくとも約3.0マイクロメーターの平均表面粗さを有することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 内部への傾斜部は、水平な外部の部分および下方傾斜の内側の部分を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記上方傾斜部の内側の部分および前記下方傾斜部は、つながった曲線を形成していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記誘引要素は、アルデヒドおよび有機酸から構成される群の少なくとも1つのものを含有していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記誘引要素は、ヘキセナール、オクテナールおよびブチル酸から構成される群の少なくとも1つのものを含有していることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記誘引要素は、約5ml/cm2/min.と約50ml/cm2/min.との間の空気の流れを作る手段を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記空気の流れを作る手段は、ファンであることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の装置。
- 前記誘引要素は、約5ml/cm2/min.と約505ml/cm2/min.との間の空気の流れを作る手段を備えていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記空気の流れを作る手段は、ファンであることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記上方傾斜部および/または前記下方傾斜部の内部の部分の少なくとも一部は、ガラス充填ポリマーから構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ガラス充填ポリマーは、重量において、約10%から約30%のガラス充填材を含有していることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 前記ガラス充填材は、ガラス粒子から構成されていることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の装置。
- さらに、少なくとも1つの誘引物質受容要素を備えることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の装置。
- さらに、前記少なくとも1つの誘引物質受容要素内の開口の中に大きさが合う、少なくとも1つのポリマーバイアルを備えることを特徴とする、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つのポリマーバイアルは、さらに、金属の薄片上部を備えることを特徴とする、請求項15に記載の装置。
- さらに、少なくとも1つの穿孔部を有する回転可能上部アクチュエーターを備え、
前記少なくとも1つの穿孔部は、前記回転可能上部アクチュエーターが回転している場合、前記ポリマーバイアルの前記金属の薄片上部に穴を開けるよう、配置されていることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の装置。
