Claims (5)

  1. 光学的に透明な色素増感された半導体層を担持して光発電能力をもつ光電極と、これに電荷輸送層を介して電気的に接合する光学的に透明な内部対極と、該内部対極にイオン性電解質層を介して電気的に接合する光学的に透明な外部対極が順次積層されて構成されて一体となった平板状の電気化学キャパシタであって、
    前記内部対極がその両面の1つの面において電荷輸送層に接し、他の1つの面において光学的に透明な蓄電活物質を担持してイオン性電解質層に接し、
    前記外部対極が光学的に透明な蓄電活物質を担持してイオン性電解質層に接し、
    前記電気化学キャパシタが可視光の波長領域での光透過率が16%以上であり、
    機械的特性においてフレキシブルであり、
    前記光電極と前記外部対極とを外部回路で連結して前記光電極を光照射することにより前記内部対極の蓄電活物質に正電荷を、前記外部対極の蓄電活物質に負電荷をそれぞれ蓄積して充電が行われる電気化学キャパシタ。
  2. 前記蓄電活物質が金属酸化物の粒子である請求項1に記載の電気化学キャパシタ。
  3. 前記蓄電活物質が、導電性ポリマーである請求項1に記載の電気化学キャパシタ。
  4. 前記金属酸化物の粒子が酸化ルテニウム、酸化マンガンから選ばれる酸化還元物質のナノ粒子であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の電気化学キャパシタ。
  5. 前記光電極、前記内部対極、及び前記外部対極が、それぞれ透明導電基板を構成要素として含み、かかる透明導電基板がいずれも光学的に透明な導電性プラスチックフィルムである請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の電気化学キャパシタ。
