Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflector capable of suppressing a traveling wind from having a turbulent flow compared with conventional technique while reducing resistance generated by the traveling wind, and smoothly changing the direction of the traveling wind.SOLUTION: The deflector 2a, since the traveling wind generated during traveling flows through a gap G1 between a back side 20d of a deflector mounting part 18 and an upper side 9b of a housing without being intercepted, can flow the traveling wind as it is from the front side of a vehicle to the back side of the vehicle, and thus can reduce the resistance generated by the traveling wind. Additionally, in the deflector 2a, the traveling wind having flowed along the surface 20c of the deflector mounting part 18 is guided to the back side of the vehicle also by the traveling wind passing the gap G1 and being rectified. For this reason, the deflector 2a, since the traveling wind having flowed along the surface 20c of the deflector mounting part 18 is unlikely to fall to the lower part of a vehicle body by the traveling wind having passed the gap G1, can suppress the traveling wind from having a turbulent flow compared with conventional technique and can change the direction of the traveling wind smoothly.

Description

The present invention relates to a deflector, and is suitable for application to, for example, a saddle-ride type motorcycle.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a motorcycle, a deflector is known that improves occupant comfort by preventing occupant fatigue or discomfort due to turbulence caused by direct driving wind, noise during traveling, and the like. In practice, as such a deflector, for example, a deflector made of a plate-like member and rotatably provided at the lower part of the rear-view mirror on the side surface of the vehicle body is considered (for example, see Patent Document 1).

In use, such a deflector is rotated and held so as to stand on the side surface of the vehicle body at the lower part of the rearview mirror, and is arranged in a wall shape protruding from the side surface of the vehicle body, so that it flows from the front of the vehicle body toward the rear of the vehicle body when traveling. It is considered that the traveling wind can be blocked and the traveling wind directly hitting the passenger can be suppressed.

European Patent No. EP0911250

However, the deflector configured as described above has a problem that, when used, the running wind flowing from the front of the vehicle body toward the rear of the vehicle body is blocked, and thus the resistance increases accordingly. In addition, in such a deflector, if the traveling wind that flows from the front of the vehicle body to the rear of the vehicle body is blocked during traveling, the traveling wind becomes turbulent, and it is difficult to rectify as predicted. There was a problem that it was difficult to change smoothly.

The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and provides a deflector that can suppress the turbulent flow of the traveling wind and reduce the direction of the traveling wind smoothly while reducing the resistance caused by the traveling wind. The purpose is to do.

In order to solve such a problem, in the present invention, in the invention according to claim 1, in a deflector that is attached to a saddle-ride type vehicle and changes the direction of traveling wind that flows from the front of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle, and suppresses the traveling wind that is an occupant. A plate-shaped deflector body is disposed on the back surface of the saddle-ride type vehicle with a gap. The deflector body also flows on the surface facing the back surface while the traveling wind flows through the gap. The traveling wind flows.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, the deflector body includes a deflector mounting portion that is attached to an upper surface of a rearview mirror that protrudes from a vehicle body side surface of the saddle-ride type vehicle, and an extension that is integrally formed with the deflector mounting portion. And the extension portion is formed to extend toward the cowling that covers the front surface of the vehicle body.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, it is possible to reduce the resistance caused by the traveling wind by flowing through the gap between the mounting portion and the back surface of the deflector body without blocking the traveling wind generated during traveling. It is possible to suppress the traveling wind flowing along the surface of the vehicle from dropping downward by the traveling wind that has passed through the gap, thus suppressing the turbulent flow of the traveling wind more than before and smoothing the direction of the traveling wind. Can change.

According to the second aspect of the present invention, even a saddle-ride type vehicle having a cowling shape that differs depending on the vehicle type can be easily attached, and the extension portion makes it difficult for running wind to pass between the rearview mirror and the cowling. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the traveling wind directly hitting the occupant.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

1 and 2, reference numeral 1 denotes a motorcycle to which deflectors 2a and 2b according to the present invention are attached. The deflectors 2a and 2b are respectively provided on rear-view mirrors 3a and 3b protruding from the side of the vehicle body. Like the rearview mirrors 3a and 3b provided on the side surfaces, they are formed symmetrically. These deflectors 2a and 2b rectify the traveling wind flowing from the front of the vehicle body to the rear of the vehicle body during traveling, and reduce the traveling wind directly hitting a passenger seated on the rear seat, not shown, on the rear seat, not shown. Has been made to get.

Incidentally, in the case of this embodiment, the motorcycle 1 provided with the deflectors 2a and 2b of the present invention is provided with a cowling 6 above the front wheel 5a as shown in FIG. Is provided on the cowling upper part 6a, and the shield 7 can suppress a traveling wind directly hitting a driver and a passenger (hereinafter collectively referred to as an occupant).

Further, the rearview mirrors 3a and 3b are respectively disposed on the cowling 6 so as to protrude from the cowling side portion 6b in the vehicle width direction x orthogonal to the vehicle vertical direction y. Here, as shown in FIG. 2, the rearview mirrors 3a and 3b have a U-shaped casing 9 having an opening 9a formed on the rear side of the vehicle body, and a mirror 10 is provided at the opening of the casing 9. The driver is seated on the front seat so that the driver can visually recognize the rear of the vehicle.

Further, the motorcycle 1 is provided with a trunk 11 above the rear wheel 5b, and a trunk cover 12 on the upper side of the trunk 11 functions as a backrest of the passenger. The rearview mirrors 3a and 3b are arranged at an approximate height, and are arranged at a height at which the driver sitting on the front seat can easily see the mirror 10.

The deflectors 2a and 2b of the present invention are provided on the upper portions of the rearview mirrors 3a and 3b arranged at such height positions, and when traveling wind flows from the front of the vehicle body toward the rear of the vehicle body during traveling, The trunk cover 12 is used as a backrest to suppress the turbulent flow around the arm portion of the passenger seated on the rear seat, and the traveling wind directly hitting the vicinity of the arm portion can be reduced.

In the case of this embodiment, the deflectors 2a and 2b provided on the respective rearview mirrors 3a and 3b on both sides of the vehicle body are formed symmetrically and have the same configuration. Focus on the explanation. In practice, the deflector 2a covers the upper part of the rearview mirror 3a, and has a deflector body 15 extending from the upper part of the rearview mirror 3a to the shield 7, and a plurality of the deflector body 15 for fixing the deflector body 15 to the upper part of the rearview mirror 3a. Leg portions 16a, 16b, and 16c (in FIG. 2, for convenience, they are shown on the deflector 2b side).

The deflector body 15 is made of a synthetic resin material such as a plastic material, for example, and is formed of a plate-like member having a predetermined thickness as a whole. The deflector body 15 is integrally formed with the deflector mounting portion 18 attached to the upper surface of the rear mirror 3a, and extends along the cowling 6 and the shield 7 from the upper surface of the rear mirror 3a. An extension part 19 is included.

As shown in FIG. 3, the deflector mounting portion 18 has an outer shape that matches the outer shape of the upper surface of the casing of the rearview mirror 3a, and is formed so as to cover the entire upper surface of the rearview mirror 3a. ing. In practice, the deflector mounting portion 18 has a rear edge portion 20a formed in a substantially straight line to match the shape of the housing 9 of the rearview mirror 3a, and a front edge portion 20b on the vehicle body outer side in the vehicle body width direction x. It has a shape that is smoothly curved so as to gradually approach the rear edge portion 20a as it goes on, and the front end portion that connects the front edge portion 20a and the rear edge portion 20b is formed in a rounded shape.

Further, the surface 20c exposed to the outside of the deflector mounting portion 18 has a smooth shape with no irregularities, and is formed to be slightly rounded along the shape of the upper surface of the housing of the rearview mirror 3a. Yes. In addition to this, as shown in FIG. 4, the deflector mounting portion 18 has a back surface 20d opposite to the front surface 20c having a smooth shape with no irregularities like the front surface 20c. They are formed in the same surface shape.

Further, the deflector mounting portion 18 has a rear surface 20d arranged at a predetermined distance from the housing upper surface 9b, and traveling wind flowing from the front of the vehicle body toward the rear of the vehicle body during traveling is between the upper surface 9b and the rear surface 20d. It is made to be able to pass through the gap G1 formed. Actually, the deflector mounting portion 18 is provided with a plurality of (in this case, three) leg portions 16a, 16b, 16c on the back surface 20d facing the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a, and these leg portions 16a. , 16b, 16c, the back surface 20d is disposed a predetermined distance away from the housing upper surface 9b.

In the case of this embodiment, the leg portions 16a, 16b, and 16c are made of elliptical column members and are erected on the back surface 20d of the deflector mounting portion 18, as shown in FIG. Further, these leg portions 16a, 16b, 16c are arranged such that the longitudinal direction of the ellipse is parallel to the vehicle body longitudinal direction z orthogonal to the vehicle body width direction x and the vehicle body vertical direction y. The traveling wind that flows toward the rear is formed so as to flow along the longitudinal direction (the vehicle body longitudinal direction z) without being blocked.

In the case of this embodiment, the front end 22 on the vehicle body front side of the leg portions 16a, 16b, 16c is formed in a rounded curved shape, and extends from the front end 22 to the side surface in the longitudinal direction. The running wind is flowing smoothly along. Further, the leg portions 16a, 16b, 16c are formed such that the rear end portion 23 on the vehicle body rear side is narrower than the front end portion 22, and the leg portion 16a is formed in the gap G1 between the deflector mounting portion 18 and the housing upper surface 9a. , 16b, 16c is designed to spread slightly in the vehicle body width direction x on the vehicle rear side.

Further, these leg portions 16a, 16b, 16c are formed in a hollow shape to reduce the weight, and the two leg portions 16a, 16c having a long longitudinal direction have a hollow region. A plurality of ribs 24 are formed in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and mechanical strength is improved by these ribs 24.

In the case of this embodiment, a mounting boss 25 is formed on the leg portion 16c arranged outside the vehicle body and the leg portion 16b arranged in the center of the three leg portions 16a, 16b, 16c. A tap screw (to be described later) can be screwed to these bosses 25 via a housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a.

In practice, when the deflector 2a is attached to the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a, first, as shown in FIG. 6, the mirror 10 is first removed from the housing 9 of the rearview mirror 3a, and the through hole 30 is placed at a predetermined position. Make a hole. The tip end of the tap screw 29 protruding from the through hole 30 is screwed to the boss 25 of the leg portions 16b and 16c of the deflector 2a. At this time, the double-sided tape 28 is bonded in advance to the region where the ribs 24 of the leg portions 16a and 16c are provided, and the bonding position is positioned by the tap screw 29. As described above, the deflector 2a is fixed to the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a by screwing the plurality of tap screws 29 to the bosses 25 of the leg portions 16b and 16c via the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a. obtain.

In this embodiment, a double-sided tape 28 is provided between the region where the ribs 24 of the leg portions 16a and 16c are provided and the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a. The generated vibration can be absorbed by the double-sided tape 28.

Further, as shown in FIG. 7, for example, the rib 24 of the leg portion 16c is formed slightly shorter than the frame portion 31 of the leg portion 16c by the thickness of the double-sided tape 28, and when the double-sided tape 28 is provided, In addition, the ribs 24 and the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a can be securely bonded without the frame portion 31 being lifted.

In addition, the leg portions 16a, 16b, 16c in the deflector mounting portion 18 have a gap height H1 between the front edge portion 20b and the housing upper surface 9b, and a gap height between the rear edge portion 20a and the housing upper surface 9b. The length is selected to be shorter than H2. Thus, when the deflector mounting portion 18 is mounted on the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a, the rear surface 20d of the deflector mounting portion 18 gradually moves away from the housing upper surface 9b as it moves from the front edge portion 20b to the rear edge portion 20a. Can be arranged.

In this way, the deflector mounting portion 18 has a narrow gap G1 on the front edge portion 20b side and a wide gap G1 on the rear edge portion 20a side. When flowing, the traveling wind can be easily discharged from the gap G1 on the rear edge 20a side. As a result, in the deflector mounting portion 18, the traveling wind that flows along the surface 20c is also caused to flow behind the vehicle by the traveling wind that has passed through the gap G1, and the downward movement of the traveling wind that flows along the surface 20c is suppressed downward. Can do.

In the case of this embodiment, the rearview mirror 3a to which the deflector 2a is attached is provided above the cowling side portion 6b as shown in FIG. Thus, the housing upper surface 9b can be arranged. As a result, the rear mirror 3a has a gap in which one side surface 9c of the housing connected to the cowling 6 is greatly inclined obliquely downward toward the cowling 6, and is greatly recessed downward from the shield 7 of the cowling upper portion 6a. G2 is formed.

Here, as shown in FIG. 9, the deflector 2a of the present invention has a gap G2 (FIG. 8) formed between the rearview mirror 3a and the shield 7 when the deflector mounting portion 18 is mounted on the housing upper surface 9b. The extension portion 19 is configured to be disposed, and is configured so that the traveling wind that flows from the front of the vehicle body to the rear of the vehicle body when traveling is guided obliquely rearward and upward by the extension portion 19 without passing through the gap G2. ing.

In practice, the extension portion 19 is formed so as to incline toward the upper side of the vehicle body as it goes from the front of the vehicle body to the rear of the vehicle body. The traveling wind is directed obliquely upward.

Further, in the case of this embodiment, the front edge 33 on the vehicle body front side of the extension 19 extends from the upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a to the vicinity of the cowling 6 obliquely downward along the one side surface 9c of the housing. After tilting, it is formed so as to be bent from the vicinity of the cowling 6 toward the shield 7 of the cowling upper portion 6a, and has a U-shaped front concave portion 34 that is greatly recessed below the vehicle body.

On the other hand, the rear edge 35 on the rear side of the vehicle body in the extension 19 has a rear concave portion 36 that is slightly recessed at a position on the vehicle outer side and the vehicle upper side with respect to the front concave portion 34 when viewed from the front of the vehicle body. The deflector mounting portion 18 is formed so as to extend from the rear edge 20 a to the shield 7 via the rear recess 36. Further, the rear edge 35 of the extension 19 has a rear recess 36, but is disposed at a height close to the height of the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a. From the rear to the rear of the vehicle body, it is formed so as to incline obliquely rearward and upward so that the extension 19 can be reliably disposed in the gap G2 between the rearview mirror 3a and the shield 7.

Further, the extension portion 19 is configured so that a slightly recessed area from the front concave portion 34 to the rear concave portion 36 when viewed from the front of the vehicle gradually increases from the front edge portion 34 toward the rear edge portion 35 side in the vehicle body width direction x. Thus, the traveling wind that flows from the front of the vehicle body toward the rear of the vehicle body during traveling is less likely to flow to the shield 7 side and easily flows to the outer side of the vehicle body.

In the above configuration, the deflector 2a includes the plate-like deflector body 15 in which the back surface 20d is disposed with a gap G1 with respect to the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a, and the gap G1 of the deflector mounting portion 18 in the deflector body 15 is provided. In addition, the traveling wind flows to the front surface 20c opposite to the back surface 20d.

Thereby, in the deflector 2a, the traveling wind generated during traveling is not blocked, and flows through the gap G1 between the rear surface 20d of the deflector mounting portion 18 and the housing upper surface 9b, and from the vehicle front to the vehicle rear as it is. Thus, the resistance caused by the traveling wind can be reduced. In the deflector 2a, the traveling wind that flows along the surface 20c of the deflector mounting portion 18 is also guided to the rear of the vehicle by the rectified traveling wind that passes through the gap G1. As a result, in the deflector 2a, the traveling wind that has flowed along the surface 20c of the deflector mounting portion 18 is less likely to fall down below the vehicle body due to the traveling wind that has passed through the gap G1, and thus the turbulent flow of the traveling wind is suppressed more than before. The direction of the driving wind can be changed smoothly.

Further, in the deflector 2a, the deflector mounting portion 18 is attached to the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a, and the extension portion 19 is formed to extend toward the cowling 6 side. Even if it is a different motorcycle, it can be easily attached. Also, just by attaching it to the upper surface 9b of the casing, it becomes difficult for the traveling wind to pass between the rearview mirror 3a and the cowling 6 by the extension 19, and the occupant accordingly. The traveling wind directly hitting can be suppressed.

Further, since the extension portion 19 is inclined obliquely rearward and upward so as to gradually move away from the vehicle body from the front of the vehicle body to the rear of the vehicle body, the direction of the traveling wind is changed to the upper side of the vehicle body. It is possible to reduce the resistance generated when the traveling wind is obstructed.

In the case of this embodiment, since the extension portion 19 is formed so as to extend not only on the cowling 6 side but also on the shield 7 side, traveling wind is generated in the gap G2 between the rearview mirror 3a and the shield 7. It becomes difficult to pass, and the traveling wind directly hitting the passenger can be further suppressed.

The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and various modifications can be made within the scope of the gist of the present invention. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the case where the extension portion 19 is formed so as to extend not only from the cowling 6 side but also from the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a to the shield 7 has been described. However, the extension may be formed so as to extend only from the housing upper surface 9a of the rearview mirror 3a toward the cowling 6 side. In this case, although there is a slight gap between the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a and the shield 7, the gap between the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a and the cowling 6 can be shielded by the extension. Accordingly, the traveling wind is less likely to pass than before, and the traveling wind directly hitting the passenger can be suppressed.

In the above-described embodiment, the motorcycle 1 is applied as the saddle-ride type vehicle. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and various other saddle-ride types such as an automatic tricycle or an automatic four-wheel vehicle. A vehicle may be applied.

Further, in the above-described embodiment, the case where the deflector mounting portion 18 is attached to the housing upper surface 9b of the rearview mirror 3a and the deflector 2a is attached to the motorcycle 1 has been described, but the present invention is not limited thereto. Instead, the extension 19 may be attached to the side surface 9c of the rear mirror 3a, or the extension 19 may be attached to the cowling 6 so that the deflector 2a is attached to the motorcycle 1.

Furthermore, in the case of the above-described embodiment, the case where the deflector 2a is attached to the rearview mirror 3a has been described, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the deflector of the present invention is provided at a predetermined attachment site other than the rearview mirror 3a. You may make it attach.
