Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a fragrance composition for modulating odor of fatty acids having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, particularly isovaleric acid, and a deodorant composition using the same.
Deodorization methods are broadly divided into sensory methods, chemical methods, biological methods, and physical methods. For sensory deodorization, (1) a method using a masking action, (2) a neutralization action is used. And (3) a method using a modulation action. The masking action is an action that masks the bad odor with a scent stronger than the bad odor, the neutralization action is an action that reduces the odor intensity by using a small amount of the fragrance than the masking, and the modulation action is the use of the scent to reduce the bad odor. This is an action that changes the impression of quality (Non-patent Document 1).
In recent years, consumers have a keen sense of odor, and consumer demand for odor that adheres to the room and clothing has changed from the conventional one. Fatty acids with 2 to 6 carbon atoms such as acetic acid, butyric acid, isobutyric acid, normal valeric acid, isovaleric acid, hexanoic acid derived from sweat and sebum generated from human bodies and pets as a bad odor often seen in living spaces and clothing Odor may be mentioned, but the level of fatty acid odor adhering to the room and clothes is decreasing as the frequency of washing increases and awareness of cleanliness increases. Therefore, as a new demand for the effects of deodorants used in the deodorization of fatty acid odors present in the home, if a weak fatty acid odor is completely deodorized or cannot be completely deodorized, use a deodorant. There is a need to improve the overall odor of the odor to be equal to or less than that of the odor before use.
Conventionally, as a technique for masking a fatty acid odor by a fragrance, there are mainly (1) a method of using a fragrance in excess of bad odor, and (2) a method of using a strong fragrance having characteristics different from the bad odor, which are used directly on the human body. A masking agent for body odor is disclosed in Patent Document 1. However, when this masking technology is applied to the low odor level described above, the fragrance of the fragrance is too strong, or even if the fragrance is very slight, the characteristic fragrance and the bad odor can be felt separately, resulting in a sense of incongruity. There was a problem.
Among fatty acids having 2 to 6 carbon atoms such as butyric acid, isovaleric acid and hexanoic acid derived from sweat, sebum, protein, etc. generated from the human body or pet, carbon number 4 to 5, particularly isovaleric acid (carbon number 5 ) Is considered the most important measure from the viewpoint of low threshold (0.078ppb).
Therefore, in order to meet the consumer's demand for the above-mentioned fatty acid odor having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, especially the odor-eliminating agent of isovaleric acid, deodorization using techniques other than masking, particularly utilizing a modulating action. Technology development is desired.
