Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ink jet recording sheet excellent in ink absorbability and coating layer strength.
Inkjet recording devices are rapidly spreading in a wide range of fields, such as computer printers and color copiers, due to the advantages that high-quality full-color images can be easily obtained, speeding up is easy, and running costs are low. I am doing. For this reason, with respect to the inkjet recording sheet used in the inkjet recording apparatus, in recent years, in particular, a higher level of standards has been adopted according to the spread of applications such as printing of fine photographic images and use as outdoor posters. Quality is required. As such an ink jet recording sheet, an ink jet recording sheet in which an ink receiving layer is provided on the surface of a substrate is used. As an ink receiving layer, a layer containing a crosslinking agent, a binder, and an inorganic pigment is known (see, for example, Patent Document 1). However, when the coating liquid contains a crosslinking agent and a binder, the viscosity tends to increase. A good coated surface cannot be obtained.
As an inkjet recording sheet that solves this problem, an inkjet in which a first layer containing a binder and a crosslinking agent is provided on a substrate, and a second layer containing a binder and an inorganic pigment is provided on the first layer. A recording sheet is known (for example, see Patent Document 2). The first layer includes a crosslinking agent capable of forming a covalent bond with acetoacetyl-modified polyvinyl alcohol. The second layer contains a white pigment and acetoacetyl-modified polyvinyl alcohol. However, this inkjet recording sheet has room for improvement in coating layer strength.
The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an ink jet recording sheet excellent in ink absorbability and coating layer strength.
In order to solve the above problems, an ink jet recording sheet according to the present invention is an ink jet recording sheet in which an ink receiving layer is provided on at least one side of a base material. The ink receiving layer includes an acetoacetyl-modified polyvinyl as a binder. An alcohol, a basic aluminum salt, and a filler are contained, and an undercoat layer containing adipic acid dihydrazide as a cross-linking agent is provided between the substrate and the ink receiving layer.
As described above, the ink receiving layer contains acetoacetyl-modified polyvinyl alcohol as a binder, a basic aluminum salt, and a filler, and the undercoat layer contains adipic acid dihydrazide as a cross-linking agent. An ink jet recording sheet having excellent coating layer strength can be obtained.
In this case, the ink receiving layer can further contain a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride.
According to the present invention, an ink jet recording sheet excellent in ink absorptivity and coating layer strength can be obtained.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of an ink jet recording sheet according to the present invention will be described. The ink jet recording sheet of this embodiment is obtained by sequentially providing an undercoat layer and an ink receiving layer on at least one surface of a substrate. That is, in the ink jet recording sheet of the present embodiment, an undercoat layer and an ink receiving layer may be sequentially provided on one side of the substrate, or an undercoat layer and an ink receiving layer may be provided on both sides. Further, when an undercoat layer and an ink receiving layer are sequentially provided on one side of the substrate, one or more layers such as an ink receiving layer and an undercoat layer other than the present embodiment are provided on the remaining one side. It may be.
Although it will not specifically limit as a base material if it is used for conventional inkjet recording sheets, such as paper, a plastic film, and a nonwoven fabric, From a water-resistant viewpoint, a plastic film is especially suitable. Plastic film materials include general thermoplastic resins such as vinyl chloride, polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, polystyrene, and polycarbonate, or inorganic powders such as calcium carbonate, organic pigments, etc. It is possible to select from.
The undercoat layer contains a binder and adipic acid dihydrazide as a crosslinking agent.
The binder of the undercoat layer is not particularly limited as long as it is used for a layer such as an ink receiving layer or an undercoat layer provided on the base material of the inkjet recording sheet. For example, a polyvinyl alcohol resin or a polyvinyl acetal resin , Polyvinyl pyrrolidone resin, gelatin, methylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose, polyester, acrylic, urethane, chlorinated polypropylene, vinyl versatate and copolymers thereof, styrene-acrylic copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, styrene-butadiene Examples thereof include rubber and copolymers thereof, and these may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among these, a room temperature crosslinking acrylic resin is particularly preferable.
Adipic acid dihydrazide (hereinafter referred to as “ADH”) is used as a crosslinking agent for the undercoat layer. As the cross-linking agent, it is preferable to use ADH alone, but other cross-linking agents may be contained within a range that does not impair the effect of containing ADH. Other crosslinking agents are not particularly limited as long as they crosslink with acetoacetyl-modified polyvinyl alcohol. The content of the crosslinking agent in the undercoat layer is preferably from 0.3 to 2.0% by weight, more preferably from 0.7 to 1.7% by weight, particularly preferably 0, based on the total amount of the undercoat layer in terms of solid content. .8 to 1.1% by weight is preferred. If the content of the cross-linking agent in the undercoat layer is less than 0.3% by weight in terms of solid content, the improvement in the coating layer strength is small, and if it exceeds 2.0% by weight, ink bleeding increases. is there.
The undercoat layer may contain an additive as required in addition to the binder and the crosslinking agent. As additives, for example, pigments, curing agents, surfactants, dispersants, thickeners, water retention agents, antifoaming agents, water resistance agents, colorants, preservatives and the like are added in appropriate combinations. Can be used.
The undercoat layer is prepared by dispersing or dissolving a crosslinking agent, a binder, and an additive in water or other appropriate solvent, and applying the coating liquid to the surface of the substrate and drying it. Formed on the surface. As a device for coating the coating liquid, known devices used for coated paper can be used. For example, air knife coater, gravure coater, blade coater, roll coater, reverse roll coater, bar coater, curtain coater, die A slot coater, a champlex coater, a size press coater, a gate roll coater, or a bill blade coater can be used, and an undercoat layer is formed on a substrate by an on-machine coater or an off-machine coater having one or more of these coaters. Can be provided separately in one layer or multiple layers.
The coating amount for forming the undercoat layer is not particularly limited. For example, from the viewpoint of the strength of the coating layer and ink bleeding, the solid content per side is preferably 2 to 8 g / m 2 , particularly 3 ˜8 g / m 2 is preferred. This is because if the coating amount is less than 2 g / m 2 in terms of solid content on one side, the ADH content is small and the coating layer strength cannot be obtained, and if it exceeds 8 g / m 2 , ink bleeding occurs. .
The ink receiving layer contains acetoacetyl-modified polyvinyl alcohol (hereinafter referred to as “acetoacetyl-modified PVA”), a basic aluminum salt, and a filler as a binder.
Silica is preferably used as a filler for the ink receiving layer. Silica is preferably a gel type by a wet method. As the filler, silica is preferably used alone, but a filler other than silica may be contained. Other fillers are not particularly limited as long as they are used for ink jet recording sheets. For example, there are no organic or inorganic limitations, such as talc, clay, diatomaceous earth, polystyrene, polymethacrylate, titanium oxide, calcined kaolin. And hydrous magnesium silicate. These may be used alone or in combination of two or more.
As a binder for the ink receiving layer, acetoacetyl-modified PVA is used. As the binder, it is preferable to use acetoacetyl-modified PVA alone, but other binders may be contained as long as the effect of containing acetoacetyl-modified PVA is not impaired. Other binders are not particularly limited as long as they are used for inkjet recording sheets. Polyvinyl alcohol resin, polyvinyl acetal resin, polyvinyl pyrrolidone resin, gelatin, methyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, polyester, acrylic, urethane, chlorinated polypropylene , Vinyl versatate and copolymers thereof, styrene-acrylic copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, styrene-butadiene rubber and copolymers thereof, and the like. You may use together.
The solid content mass ratio between the binder and the filler in the ink receiving layer is such that the mass ratio (F / R) is 2.0 to 5.0 when the mass of the filler is F and the mass of the binder is R. It is preferable. This is because if the mass ratio (F / R) is less than 2.0, the ink absorptivity decreases, and if it exceeds 5.0, the coating layer strength becomes weak.
Examples of the basic aluminum salt in the ink receiving layer include basic aluminum chloride, basic aluminum sulfate, basic aluminum lactate, basic aluminum nitrate, basic aluminum sulfamate, basic aluminum formate, and basic aluminum acetate. In particular, basic aluminum lactate is preferable.
0.03-0.09 is preferable with respect to a filler, and, as for content of a basic aluminum salt, 0.05-0.07 is more preferable. This is because if the content of the basic aluminum salt relative to the filler exceeds 0.09, the ink absorbability deteriorates, and if it is less than 0.03, the coating layer strength does not improve.
The ink receiving layer preferably further contains a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride. This is because a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride further improves the coating layer strength. The content of the polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or the polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride is preferably 0.05 to 0.21 and more preferably 0.10 to 0.16 with respect to the filler. If the content of the polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or the polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride with respect to the filler exceeds 0.21, the ink absorbability deteriorates, and if it is less than 0.05, the coating layer strength does not improve. Because.
The ink receiving layer preferably has a pH of 3.0 to 5.5 from the viewpoint of coating layer strength. In addition, pH as used in the field of this invention is with respect to the coating liquid of an ink receiving layer.
The ink receiving layer may contain additives as required in addition to a binder, a basic aluminum salt, a filler, a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin, and a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride. Examples of additives include antifoaming agents, wettability improvers, dispersants, pigments, curing agents, surfactants, thickeners, water retention agents, antistatic agents, ultraviolet absorbers, water resistance agents, colorants, What added the antiseptic | preservative etc. combining suitably can be used.
The ink receiving layer is prepared by dispersing or dissolving a binder, a basic aluminum salt, a filler, a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin, a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride, and an additive in water or other appropriate solvent. The coating liquid is prepared, applied to the surface of the base material, and dried to be formed on the surface of the base material. As a device for coating the coating liquid, known devices used for coated paper can be used. For example, air knife coater, gravure coater, blade coater, roll coater, reverse roll coater, bar coater, curtain coater, die A slot coater, a champlex coater, a size press coater, a gate roll coater, or a bill blade coater can be used, and an ink receiving layer is formed on a substrate by an on-machine coater or an off-machine coater having one or more of these coaters. Can be provided separately in one layer or multiple layers.
The coating amount for forming the ink receiving layer is not particularly limited, for example, preferably 10~22g / m 2 in terms of solid per side content, especially 12~22g / m 2 is preferred. This is because when the coating amount is 22 g / m 2 or less, the coating layer strength can be maintained, and when the coating amount is 10 g / m 2 or more, the ink absorbency becomes excellent.
As described above, the ink jet recording sheet of the present embodiment has an ink receiving layer in which an acetoacetyl-modified PVA as a binder, a basic aluminum salt, a filler, a polymer of these compounds, dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin, or diallyldimethylammonium chloride. When the undercoat layer contains ADH as a cross-linking agent, the ink absorbability and the coating layer strength are excellent. That is, the coating layer strength is improved by the cross-linking reaction between acetoacetyl-modified PVA and ADH, and the addition of a basic aluminum salt, a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin, or a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride is added. It is estimated that the layer strength is further improved. By improving the coating layer strength in this way, the content of silica as a filler can be increased, the ink absorbency is improved, and further, a basic aluminum salt or a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin, The addition of diallyldimethylammonium chloride polymer further improved the coating layer strength. Therefore, the ink jet recording sheet of the present embodiment is excellent in coating layer strength and wet rubbing property despite being a porous structure having a high ink absorption capacity, and is a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin. In addition, since the ink is fixed because the polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride is a cationic compound, the water-resistance of the ink receiving layer which is the printing portion is excellent.
The ink jet recording sheet of the present embodiment does not contain a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride, that is, the ink receiving layer has an acetoacetyl-modified PVA as a binder and a basic When the aluminum salt and filler are included and the undercoat layer includes ADH as a crosslinking agent, the mass ratio (F / R) of the ink receiving layer may be in the range of 2.0 to 3.0. Further, the content of the basic aluminum salt with respect to the filler is preferably 0.03 to 0.09.
In addition, the inkjet recording sheet of the present embodiment includes a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride, i.e., an acetoacetyl-modified PVA as a binder and a base in the ink receiving layer. Ratio of the ink-receiving layer when the undercoat layer contains ADH as a cross-linking agent, and a base aluminum salt, a filler, a polymer of dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin or a polymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride (F / R) is preferably in the range of 2.0 to 5.0. Furthermore, the basic aluminum salt content relative to the filler is 0.03 to 0.09, and dimethylamine and epichlorohydrin relative to the filler Polymer or diallyldimethylammoni It is preferable that the content of polymer of Mukuroraido is 0.05 to 0.21.
