Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe gauze whose insertion into or removal from human bodies is easy and in which in operation, there are cases where it is difficult to insert a gauze into blooding body positions, or it is left within the body after an operation because it is hardly discovered, and though a gauze or absorbent cotton is used for the disposal of blooding within the mouth of a patient treated by a dentist for the removal of saliva, body fluid, etc., infants, children or old patients have the danger of swallowing them by mistake and getting them clogged in their throats.SOLUTION: The insertion of a gauze becomes easy by sewing and fixing the gauze center wound into a roll with a thread. A thread extending from the roll end is useful to prevent misplacement or swallowing by mistake, or making the gauze taken out of the body easy. Moreover, the use of a high molecular water absorption material allows the gauze to enhance the water absorbability and retentivity.

Description

The present invention relates to a gauze with a medical thread for use in surgery, oral cavity, dentistry and the like.

In surgery, gauze is used to absorb bleeding blood, but the gauze that has absorbed blood is difficult to distinguish and may remain in the body after surgery. For example, in Patent Document 1, Patent Document 2, and Patent Document 3, a medical gauze including an X-ray contrast fiber for preventing being left in the body after surgery has been developed. Further, Patent Document 4 describes a gauze that is easy to insert when performing an endoscopic operation.

Test Example 1 Water absorption test In accordance with the water absorption test method of JIS L1912 6.12.3, the gauze used in Examples 1 to 3 was compared with a commercial product (white cotton, roll cotton) and evaluated.
Method: Five test pieces (100 × 100 mm) are collected, and if one test piece weighs less than 1 g, the test pieces are stacked until 1 g is reached. The weight of this test piece with a cover having an accuracy of 0.01 g was measured. The test piece is clipped to the edge of the stainless steel wire mesh and placed in a room temperature water tank at an angle of 20 mm below the surface of the water so as not to generate bubbles. After 1 minute, take out the test piece and the wire mesh, remove the other clip except for one end of the clip, hang it vertically for 2 minutes, remove moisture, remove the test piece from the wire mesh, put in a weighing glass and weigh. This was repeated 5 times, and the average value was calculated. 2.45 g for the test piece (30 × 150 mm) used in Example 1, 4.09 g for the test piece of Example 2 (30 × 250 mm), and 4.91 g for the test piece of Example 3 (30 × 300 mm). It was the amount of water absorption. The water absorption per g was 11.14 g, 11.05 g, and 11.41 g, respectively, and the water absorption per g was superior to 3.36 g of a commercially available product (white cotton, roll cotton).

Test Example 2 Dissolution test The gauze with thread of Example 10 and Example 11 was immersed in physiological saline, and the dissolution after 24 hours was examined. The dissolution of the polymer water-absorbing material was not observed.
