Abstract
【解決手段】可変データ平版印刷システム用の改善された作像部材12は、ポリマーを含む再作像可能表層を備え、この再作像可能面が頂部−谷部間で0.10〜4.0μmの範囲の表面粗さRaと、20μmよりも微細な頂部−谷部間最近接隣接部平均距離とを有する。再作像可能表層を取り付ける構造的装着層22を、直接にあるいはその間に中間層を設けるかのいずれかで配設することができる。比較的粗い面が、湿潤溶液の保持を促し、インク塗布均一性と転写を改善する。再作像可能表層20は、ポリジメチルシロキサン(シリコーン)で構成されてもよく、任意選択として、その中に分散され吸収と、したがって光源からの放熱を促進する粒状の放射線感応物質を有することもできる。

さらに、図11Aと図11Bを参照するに、ここではRSmは試料長L内で輪郭要素の幅X(s)の平均値として定義され、Raは試料長Lに対する平均基準線計測値に対する平均化ピークに関連付けられる。このようにして、RSmはピーク間隔の特性を示し、Raはピーク高さの特性を示す。この種の定義は、寸法A〜L2を有する特性サンプリング領域Aを用いて二次元に拡張することができる。
Claims (2)
- 可変データ平版印刷システムであって、
作像部材で、
随意再作像可能表層で、
0.1〜4.0マイクロメートル(μm)の範囲の表面粗さRaと、
20マイクロメートル(μm)を越えない側方空間規模平均距離RSmとを有する随意再作像可能表層を備える作像部材と、
前記随意再作像可能表層に湿潤溶液の層を塗布する湿潤溶液サブシステムと、
湿潤溶液層の一部を選択的に取り除き、湿潤溶液内に潜像を生成するパターン形成サブシステムと、
随意再作像可能表層上にインクを塗布し、該インクがパターン形成サブシステムにより湿潤溶液を除去した再作像可能表層の所定領域を選択的に占有するようにし、それによってインク塗布された潜像を生成するインク塗布サブシステムで、
インク塗布ローラで、インク貯槽から直接または間接にインクを受け取り、該インクを前記再作像可能表層に転写するよう配置され、該インク塗布ローラが該インク塗布ローラから前記再作像可能表層への前記分離に垂直な方向に比較的緩速の分離を呈するよう比較的大きな曲率半径を有する前記インク塗布ローラと、
前記再作像可能表層と前記下地との間に圧力を印加するよう配置した転写ニップローラで、前記インク塗布潜像を下地へ転写すべく前記再作像可能表層から前記下地へ前記分離に垂直な方向に比較的高速の分離を呈し、前記インク塗布ローラに比べ比較的小さな曲率半径を有する前記転写ニップローラとを備えるインク塗布サブシステムとを備える、システム。 - インク塗布ローラから再作像可能表層および再作像可能表層からインク塗布ローラへの改善されたインク転写のためのシステムであって、
インク貯槽から直接または間接にインクを受容するよう配置され、再作像可能表層にインクを転写するインク塗布ローラで、比較的大きな曲率半径を有し、インク塗布ローラから再作像可能表層への分離に垂直な方向に比較的緩速の分離を呈するインク塗布ローラと、
再作像可能表層と下地との間に圧力を印加するよう配置した転写ニップローラで、インク塗布ローラに比べ比較的小さな曲率半径を有し、再作像可能表層から下地への分離に垂直な方向に比較的高速の分離を呈する転写ニップローラとを備える、システム。
