Abstract
Description
Claims (12)
- 光源からの光をコリメートする光学要素であって、
当該光学要素は、
前記光を受けるように構成された内部結合面と、
コリメートされた光の放射を可能にするように構成された外部結合面と、
前記内部結合面から前記外部結合面まで延在する要素本体部とを有し、
前記要素本体部は、互いに直交するx軸及びy軸により規定された光学軸zと直角をなす断面をもち、
当該光学要素は、前記x軸に沿ったx曲率と前記y軸に沿ったy曲率とをもち、前記y曲率は、前記x曲率よりも大きく、これにより、前記外部結合面から放射された前記コリメートされた光の光分布が、前記光学軸zと直角をなす非対称形状の断面をもつことを可能にする、光学要素。 - 前記外部結合面から放射された前記コリメートされた光の光分布は、前記光学軸と直角をなす楕円形状の断面をもつ、請求項1に記載の光学要素。
- 前記光学要素は、前記形状が、前記y軸に沿った幅よりも大きい前記x軸に沿った幅をもつことを可能にするように構成される、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の光学要素。
- 互いに関連する前記x曲率及び前記y曲率は、前記x軸に沿った光ビームの最大分散角度が、前記y軸に沿った対応する最大分散角度よりも、少なくとも15度、及び好ましくは少なくとも30度大きくなるように規定される、請求項1〜3のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素。
- 当該光学要素は、コリメータである、請求項1〜4のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素。
- 当該光学要素は、固体であり透明である、請求項1〜5のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素。
- 当該光学要素は、ポリカーボネート(PC)若しくはポリメタクリル酸メチル(PMMA)又はこれらの組み合わせを有する、請求項1〜6のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素。
- 前記外部結合面は平坦である、請求項1〜7のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素。
- 前記外部結合面はレンズ構造体を有する、請求項1〜8のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素。
- 当該光学要素は、マトリクス照明システムに含まれる、請求項1〜9のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素。
- 請求項1〜10のうちいずれか一項に記載の光学要素と光源とを有する照明システムであって、
前記光学要素の内部結合面は、前記光源により放射された光を受ける、照明システム。 - 前記光源は、発光ダイオード(LED)を有する、請求項11に記載の照明システム。
