Abstract
Description
本出願は、2008年2月25日出願の米国特許仮出願第61/031,145号の優先権の恩典を主張する。
本文献は、体内脈管(たとえば血管)中の狭窄部位を治療するための材料および方法に関する。
血管形成術とは、狭まった血管またはたとえばアテローム硬化症のせいで閉塞した血管の機械的拡張である。語「血管形成」は、通常は最小侵襲的または「経皮的」方法で実施されるすべてのやり方の脈管介入を含むようになった。
本文献は、一部に、流体物質を狭窄部位に注入し、その物質を硬化させることによって血管中でステントを形成することができるという発見に基づく。したがって、本文献は、狭まった、または閉塞した脈管(たとえば血管)中、狭窄部位でステントを製造し、配置するための材料および方法を提供する。本明細書に提供される方法によって製造されるステントは、脈管内の狭窄または閉塞部位の不規則な形状の区域に形状適合することができる。そのようなステントは、たとえば、脈管が不均一な直径を有する部位で特に有用である。そのようなステントはまた、二つの脈管の間の分枝で狭窄または閉塞が起こる分岐部で特に有用である。
本明細書においては、形状適合性ステントを製造するための材料および方法が提供される。形状適合性ステントは、たとえば、流体物質(たとえば液体またはゼラチン状物質)を脈管中の狭窄または閉塞の部位に注入し、その流体を硬化させ、脈管を開通状態に維持することができる硬い型を生じさせることによって生成することができる。図1Aに示すように、たとえば、脈管10は、プラーク20によって生じた狭窄の区域を有することができる。図1Bに示すステント30をプラーク20の部位に配置すると、脈管10を開通状態に保持し、それにより、血流を促進することができる。

Claims (14)
- a)ステントのための足場を形成するように構成された一つまたは複数の溝を画定する外面を有するバルーンを体内脈管に挿入する工程;
b)該脈管内の狭窄部位で該バルーンを膨らませる工程;
c)流体物質を該一つまたは複数の溝に注入する工程;
d)該流体物質を硬化させる工程;および
e)該バルーンをしぼませ、該脈管から取り出す工程
を含む、ステントを製造する方法。 - 一つまたは複数の溝が、ステントのためのメッシュパターンの足場を形成するように構成されている、請求項1記載の方法。
- 一つまたは複数の溝が、ステントのためのらせん状またはコイル状の足場を形成するように構成されている、請求項1記載の方法。
- 一つまたは複数の溝が、ステントのための接続されたロッド状の足場を形成するように構成されている、請求項1記載の方法。
- 一つまたは複数の溝が、バルーンの壁の中に完全に収容される管腔を画定する、請求項1記載の方法。
- バルーンの外面および一つまたは複数の溝の表面が、バルーン壁から切り離されたカバーを有する、請求項1記載の方法。
- バルーン壁とカバーが別々の材料を含む、請求項6記載の方法。
- バルーン壁とカバーが同じ材料を含む、請求項6記載の方法。
- 一つまたは複数の溝それぞれが別個のカバーを有し、該別個のカバーそれぞれが、バルーンの外面に沿って延びる管腔を画定する、請求項1記載の方法。

- 注入される物質が、修飾セルロース、セルロース誘導体、ならびに、ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート、グリシジルメタクリレート、グリシジルメタクリレート/N-ビニルピロリドン/ヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート、2-ポリヒドロキシエチルメタクリレート、n-ブチルシアノアクリレート、ポリ(ε-カプロラクトン)とポリ(エチレンオキシド)との共押出し物、酢酸セルロース、エチレンビニルアルコールコポリマー、アクリル樹脂、ポリアクリロニトリル、ヒドロキシアルキルアクリレート、ヒドロキシアルキルメタクリレート、エポキシアクリレート、エポキシメタクリレート、アミノアルキルアクリレート、アミノアルキルメタクリレート、N-ビニル化合物、アミノスチレン、ポリビニルアルコール、ポリビニルアミン、ポリアクリルアミド、多糖類、修飾多糖類、ポリエチレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール、ビニルピリジン、スルホン酸ビニル、ポリ硫酸ビニル、炭酸ビニレン、ビニル酢酸、ビニルクロトン酸、アリルアミン、アリルアルコール、ビニルグリシジルエーテルおよびアリルグリシジルエーテルのポリマーからなる群より選択される、請求項1記載の方法。
- 注入される物質が体温で硬化する、請求項1記載の方法。
