Abstract
【解決手段】ラジエータからエンジンの冷却液流入部に向かう冷却液の戻り流路に配置されたハウジング11内にサーモエレメント組立体13と冷却液の温度を検出する温度センサー17とが収容されている。前記温度センサー17の先端感温部17aが、サーモエレメント組立体を構成する弁体23と、前記ハウジング11の流通孔12内に形成されたフレーム支持部との間におけるハウジングの流通孔12内に臨むように配置されている。

Claims (4)
- 内燃機関内に形成された流体通路とラジエータとの間で冷却液の循環流路を形成する内燃機関の冷却装置において用いられ、前記ラジエータから前記内燃機関の冷却液流入部に向かう冷却液の戻り流路に配置されたハウジング内にサーモエレメント組立体と冷却液の温度を検出する温度センサーとを収容した内燃機関の冷却装置であって、
前記サーモエレメント組立体には、冷却液の温度に反応して膨張・収縮する熱膨張体を内蔵するサーモエレメントと、前記サーモエレメントにおける熱膨張体の膨張・収縮に基づいて前記ハウジング内の流通孔を開閉する弁体と、前記弁体を閉弁する方向に付勢するばね部材と、前記ばね部材の端部を受けるばね受けフレームとが備えられ、
前記ばね受けフレームに形成された係止片が、前記ハウジングの流通孔内に形成されたフレーム支持部に係止することで、前記サーモエレメント組立体が前記ハウジング内に組み込まれた構成になされ、
前記温度センサーの先端感温部が、サーモエレメント組立体を構成する前記弁体と、前記ハウジングの流通孔内に形成されたフレーム支持部との間におけるハウジングの流通孔内に臨むように、かつ前記ばね受けフレームを避けるように配置されていることを特徴とする内燃機関の冷却装置。 - 前記温度センサーの先端感温部は、前記ハウジングに形成された前記ラジエータ側からの冷却液の流入口とは反対側の前記流通孔内に臨むように配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載された内燃機関の冷却装置。
- 前記温度センサーは、前記ハウジングに成形された支持管内に、当該支持管の軸方向に着脱可能に取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項1または請求項2に記載された内燃機関の冷却装置。
- 前記ラジエータを介さない前記内燃機関の冷却液流出部からの冷却液を導入する導入口が、前記弁体とフレーム支持部との間におけるハウジングの流通孔内に連通されていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか1項に記載された内燃機関の冷却装置。
