Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electronic component such as a coil component.
With the miniaturization of coil components, the use of Mn—Zn cores from conventional Ni—Zn cores has been studied in order to obtain necessary characteristics. However, since the Mn—Zn core is conductive, an electrode cannot be provided directly on the surface of the core, and thus an insulating film needs to be provided on the surface of the core.
In
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and an object of the present invention is to provide an electronic component that can suppress the occurrence and progress of cracks and is excellent in durability and reliability.
In order to achieve the above object, an electronic component according to the present invention includes:
An element body;
A glass film covering at least a part of the element body;
The glass film is characterized in that pores exist inside.
In the present invention, holes exist in the glass film covering the element body. It has been newly found by the present inventors that the presence of pores inside can greatly reduce the progress of cracks even when a physical impact or thermal shock is applied to the glass film. Further, the present inventors have confirmed that the surface hardness of the glass film is not significantly reduced within the porosity range characterized by the present invention even if pores are present inside. Therefore, in this invention, while ensuring sufficient intensity | strength of a glass film, it becomes possible to suppress generation | occurrence | production and progress of a crack, and to improve the durability and reliability of a glass film.
Preferably, the hole has a diameter of 0.1 to 10.6 μm. Preferably, when the glass film is viewed in at least one cross section perpendicular to the interface with the flat portion of the element body, the area occupied by the area of the holes with respect to the area of the cross section When the ratio is a porosity, the porosity is 0.1 to 15.1%.
When the porosity is less than 0.1%, a relatively large crack tends to occur in the glass film when a physical shock or thermal shock is applied to the glass film. On the other hand, if the porosity is higher than 15.1%, the strength of the glass film tends to decrease. Therefore, by setting the porosity in the range of 0.1 to 15.1%, it is possible to suppress the size of the cracks while improving the strength of the glass film.
More preferably, the porosity is 0.6 to 6%. When the porosity is in the range of 0.6 to 6%, it is possible to further reduce the size of the cracks while further improving the strength of the glass film.
Preferably, when the glass film is observed separately in a first layer in contact with the surface and a second layer in contact with the interface, the second layer is more vacant than the first layer. The rate is large.
By reducing the porosity of the first layer in contact with the surface as compared with the second layer, in particular, the hardness of the surface of the glass film can be improved, and sufficient strength of the glass film can be ensured.
Preferably, the surface of the glass film is a smooth surface. By increasing the surface smoothness, printing on the surface becomes easy.
The element body may have conductivity.
First Embodiment As shown in FIG. 1, an
The
In the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 1, the surface of the

As shown in FIG. 2, the
In this embodiment, the core diameter of the

As shown in FIG. 4,
FIG. 4 schematically shows a state in which the

As the glass powder used when the
Next, the method for forming the coating of the
As shown in FIG. 5, the

The
The wall of the
Next, a method for manufacturing the
A large number of
The
In addition, in this specification, unless there is particular notice, content (binder density | concentration) of binder resin is a content rate (weight%) with respect to glass powder. For example, the binder resin content of 10% means that the glass powder is 100 g and the binder resin is 10 g.
The binder resin contained in the
The softening temperature of the glass powder is preferably 800 ° C. or lower. The glass powder is not particularly limited, but those having an average particle diameter (median diameter) peak of preferably 0.75 to 1.5 μm, more preferably 1.0 to 1.5 μm are used.
The particle size distribution of the glass powder is preferably such that the peak of the average particle size is sharp, and the glass powder in the range of the average particle size ± 0.2 μm is preferably 70% by weight or more of the entire glass powder. . Examples of the glass powder include those already described.
The solvent preferably contains water. The solvent may be 100% water, but when the contact angle between the surface of the glass powder and water is large, water-soluble alcohol such as ethanol, isopropyl alcohol (IPA), IBA (isobutyl alcohol), etc. is mixed in a certain ratio. Thus, it is preferable to suppress sedimentation and aggregation of the glass powder.
The softening point of the glass powder is preferably 300 ° C or higher and 800 ° C or lower. Thus, by using glass powder having a softening point of 800 ° C. or less, it becomes possible to narrow or eliminate the temperature range from the thermal decomposition temperature of the binder resin to the softening point of the glass. Therefore, it is preferable because the shape of the glass powder layer can be maintained while the temperature is raised to the softening point of the glass in the firing step. The reason why it is defined as 300 ° C. or higher is that the softening point of many glass powders is 300 ° C. or higher.
While rotating the
The temperature of the

The glass coating is simultaneously dried while spraying the slurry. A drying gas is poured into the casing 20 a from the
The peripheral speed Vs1 when the
As shown in FIG. 3, a
After the drying process, the
Thereafter, the
Firing is performed in a nitrogen gas atmosphere with an oxygen partial pressure of 0.1% or less. By reducing the oxygen partial pressure, for example, oxidation of core components such as Mn—Zn ferrite can be prevented. When Mn—Zn-based ferrite is oxidized, hematite is formed, which causes characteristic deterioration. In addition, Ni—Zn ferrite also has a problem of oxidation depending on the composition.
The oxygen partial pressure may be lowered until the
Through the steps described above, the
In this embodiment, the average particle diameter of the glass powder is set to a specific range, the content of the binder resin is set to a specific range, and the content is changed to change the
In the present embodiment, the
Second embodiment
In this embodiment, when the
In this embodiment, the content of the binder resin with respect to the glass powder in the
Further, the content of the binder resin with respect to the glass powder in the
As shown in FIG. 7, in this embodiment, a
Thus, by changing the content of the binder resin with respect to the glass powder in the
In the present embodiment, the diameter φ of the
The method for switching the content of the binder resin contained in the
About the timing which switches content of binder resin contained in the
In the present embodiment, the porosity P of the first layer 6b1 shown in FIG. 8 can be made smaller than that of the second layer 6b2, and in particular, the hardness of the
Third embodiment
In this embodiment, in order to make the porosity P of the first layer 6b1 of the
In this embodiment, for example, by reducing the particle size of the glass particles contained in the second glass coating film 6a2 as compared with the particle size of the glass particles contained in the first glass coating film 6a1, the first shown in FIG. The porosity P of the first layer 6b1 can be made smaller than that of the second layer 6b2.
For example, the particle size of the glass particles contained in the first glass coating film 6a1 is 1.0 to 3.0 μm, and the particle size of the glass particles contained in the second glass coating film 6a2 is 0.3 to 1.0 μm. Thus, the porosity P of the first layer 6b1 shown in FIG. 8 can be made smaller than that of the second layer 6b2.
Fourth embodiment
In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 9, when the
The
In the present embodiment, at the end of the coating process, for example, the type of other additives contained in the
Specifically, the softening point of the outer glass coating film component is preferably set 30 to 100 ° C., more preferably 50 to 80 ° C. higher than the softening point of the inner glass coating film component. If the difference between the softening points of the outer glass coating component and the inner glass coating component is too small, the softening of the outer glass coating component proceeds too much, and if the difference is too large, the outer glass coating component is vitrified. This is because more heat than necessary must be applied to the inner glass coating film component. In addition, the softening point of a glass coating-film component is measured, for example by differential thermal analysis.
As a method for setting the softening point of the outer glass coating film component positioned on the surface layer 6a5 to be high, glass can be used in addition to changing the type of other additives contained in the
The method for switching the glass coating component in the
As shown in FIG. 9, first, a first base film 6a3 formed at the initial stage of application is formed with a
The timing of switching the glass coating component in the
The softening point of the glass powder contained in the first base film 6a3 and the second base film 6a4 is preferably 300 ° C. or higher and 800 ° C. or lower. Moreover, it is preferable that the softening point of the glass powder contained in the surface layer 6a5 is 300 degreeC or more and 920 degrees C or less. By using glass powder having such a softening point, the temperature range from the thermal decomposition temperature of the binder resin to the softening point of the glass can be narrowed or eliminated. Therefore, it is preferable because the shape of the glass powder layer can be maintained while the temperature is raised to the softening point of the glass in the firing step. The reason why it is defined as 300 ° C. or higher is that the softening point of many glass powders is 300 ° C. or higher.
In the present embodiment, the softening point of the glass powder included in the surface layer 6a5 may be the same as the softening point of the glass powder included in the first base film 6a3 and the second base film 6a4, but preferably 30 to 100. It is preferable that the temperature is high. The softening point of the glass powder itself is measured, for example, by differential thermal analysis.
Also in the present embodiment, the porosity P of the first layer 6b1 shown in FIG. 8 can be made smaller than that of the second layer 6b2. In the present embodiment, the glass film portion corresponding to the surface layer 6a5 can make the porosity P zero, and the surface is particularly smooth.
In particular, in this embodiment, the entire surface layer 6a5 of the glass coating film or at least the surface of the surface layer 6a5 is not softened because the softening point is higher than the firing temperature in the firing process, or the initial stage of softening is in a low viscosity state. For this reason, it is possible to effectively prevent chipping of the
Fifth embodiment
In this embodiment, by adding a foaming agent to the
As the foaming agent, for example, carbonates such as BaCO 3 , CaCO 3 , NaHCO 3 , limestone, talc, and the like are preferably used. A foaming agent foams in the baking process of a glass coating film, and a void | hole is formed in a glass coating film.
In addition, in order to make the porosity P of the first layer 6b1 of the
The means for forming the holes in the
In addition, you may form a void | hole using another method.

As a result, the porosity P shown in Table 1 was 0.9%. In Example 4, the binder resin content was 12% by weight. As a result, the porosity P shown in Table 1 was 3.0%. In Example 5, the binder resin content was 15% by weight. As a result, the porosity P shown in Table 1 was 5.0%. In Example 6, the binder resin content was 17% by weight, and as a result, the porosity P shown in Table 1 was 6.1%. In Example 7, the binder resin content was 20% by weight.

From FIG. 11 and Table 1, it was confirmed that the presence of vacancies in the glass film can greatly reduce the progress of cracks even when a physical impact or thermal shock is applied to the glass film. In addition, it was newly confirmed that the surface hardness of the glass film does not significantly decrease even if pores are present inside. In particular, it was confirmed that by setting the porosity P to 0.1% or more, cracks generated in the

Next, in Example 5 described above, in the manufacturing process of the
The core part 10 (samples 5a to 5c shown in Table 2) was manufactured under the above conditions, and the crack length and Vickers hardness were measured under the same conditions as in the above-described example. The results are shown below.
