それぞれのライトバルブが、原色のための少なくとも一つのエミッターに関連し、バルブの明度は調節できることと、
ライトバルブの着色されたフィルターの透過スペクトルは、エミッターの発光スペクトルだけでなく、少なくとも部分的に、少なくとも一つの他の原色の同じバックライト素子の少なくとも一つの他のエミッターの発光スペクトルも網羅することが望ましく、
バックライト付きグループのそれぞれのライトバルブの明度は、このライトバルブに関係する少なくとも一つのエミッターの調節の関数としてだけでなく、同じバックライト素子の少なくとも一つのほかのエミッターの調節の関数としても、同様に調節される。
Claims (10)
- 異なる原色とデバイスとを用いて少なくとも一つの画像を表示する方法であって、
該デバイスは、
それぞれが調節できる輝度とクロミナンスを有するバックライト素子(DR、DG)の回路を含むリアパネル(1)と、
それぞれが一つの原色の明度を調節でき、隣接したライトバルブの基本的なグループの形で区分されていて、それぞれの基本的なグループは前記原色のそれぞれに対し少なくとも一つのライトバルブを含む、ライトバルブの回路を含むフロントパネル(2)と、
前記リアパネル(1)のそれぞれのバックライト素子と、フロントパネル(2)のライトバルブの基本的なグループが複数集まったバックライト付きグループとを光学的に結合させる手段(3、4)と
を含み、表示されるこの画像のそれぞれのピクセルが前記フロントパネルのライトバルブの基本的なグループに対応し、
この方法では、
前記リアパネルのそれぞれのバックライト素子の輝度とクロミナンスの両方は前記バックライト素子と光学的に結合している前記フロントパネルの同じバックライト付きグループに属する基本的なグループに対応する前記画像のピクセルの表示データの関数として調節され、
前記バックライト付きグループのそれぞれのライトバルブの明度は、このバルブが属する基本的なグループに対応するピクセルの表示データの関数として調節される
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記バックライト付きグループのそれぞれのライトバルブの明度は同様に前記同じバックライト付きグループの他の基本的なグループに対応する前記ピクセルの前記表示データの関数として調節されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示方法。
- 請求項1または2に記載の表示方法であって、
それぞれのバックライト素子が前記原色のそれぞれのための少なくとも一つのエミッターを含み、それぞれのエミッターが発光スペクトルに関係していて、
それぞれのライトバルブがこのバルブの前記明度調節のための液晶セルと、前記原色を透過できる着色された光学フィルターとを含み、それぞれの着色された光学フィルターが透過スペクトルと関係していて、
それぞれのライトバルブが前記原色の少なくとも一つのエミッターと関係していて、前記バルブの前記明度は調節でき、
前記ライトバルブの着色されたフィルターの透過スペクトルが前記エミッターの前記発光スペクトルだけでなく、少なくとも部分的には、少なくとも一つのほかの原色の前記同じバックライト付きグループの少なくとも一つのほかのエミッターの発光スペクトルも網羅していて、
前記バックライト付きグループのそれぞれのライトバルブの明度は、同様にこのライトバルブに関係する少なくとも一つのエミッターの調節の関数としてだけでなく、前記同じバックライト素子の前記少なくとも一つの他のエミッターの前記調節の関数としても調節される
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一つに記載の方法を実行するために使用される画像表示デバイスであって、
それぞれが調節できる輝度とクロミナンスを有するバックライト素子(DR,DG)の回路を備えたリアパネル(1)と、
それぞれが一つの原色の明度を調節でき、近隣のライトバルブの基本のグループの形に区分されているライトバルブの回路を備えたフロントパネル(2)と、
前記リアパネル(1)のそれぞれのバックライト素子を、フロントパネル(2)のライトバルブの複数の基本のグループを集めたバックライト付きグループと光学的に結合させるための手段(3、4)と
を備え、
それぞれのバックライト素子がそれぞれの前記原色のためのエミッターを少なくとも一つ備え、それぞれのエミッターは発光スペクトルと関係していること
を特徴とするデバイス。 - それぞれのライトバルブはこのバルブの前記明度調節のための液晶セルと、前記原色を透過することができる着色された光学フィルターとを備え、このバルブの明度は調節でき、それぞれの着色されたフィルターは透過スペクトルと関係していることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の表示デバイス。
- それぞれのライトバルブは前記原色のための少なくとも一つと関係し、前記バルブの明度は調節でき、前期ライトバルブの前記着色されたフィルターの前記透過スペクトルは前記エミッターからの発光スペクトルだけでなく、少なくとも部分的には、他の原色のうちの少なくとも一つの前記同じバックライト素子のほかのエミッターのうちの少なくとも一つからの発光スペクトルも網羅することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の表示デバイス。
- 前記エミッターは発光ダイオードであることを特徴とする前請求項5から7のいずれか一つに記載の表示デバイス。
- 前記バックライト素子は、前記原色で囲まれた色の範囲の少なくとも全ての範囲で調節できるクロミナンスを有することを特徴とする請求項5から8のいずれか一つに記載の表示デバイス。
- 前記光学的結合の手法は、リア散乱層(41)、フロント散乱層(42)、および前記リア散乱層(41)と前記フロント散乱層(42)の間に挿入された透明な厚い層(43)を備えた光散乱パネル(4)を含むことを特徴とする請求項5から9のいずれか一つに記載の表示デバイス。
