Description
The present invention smoothly shifts to a steady welding state in two-electrode arc welding in which a consumable electrode arc and a non-consumable electrode arc are generated using a welding torch having a consumable electrode and a non-consumable electrode arranged in a shield gas nozzle. In addition, the present invention relates to an arc start control method of two-electrode arc welding for forming a good weld bead.
FIG. 4 shows an example of a two-electrode arc welding apparatus. In the figure, the consumable electrode arc is a MIG arc, and the non-consumable electrode arc is a plasma arc. This welding apparatus includes a welding torch WT surrounded by a broken line, a consumable electrode arc welding power source (MIG arc welding power source) PSM, and a non-consumable electrode arc welding power source (plasma arc welding power source) PSP. The welding torch WT has a structure in which a

The welding start circuit ST outputs a welding start signal St to the consumable electrode arc welding power source PSM and the non-consumable electrode arc welding power source PSP. When this welding start signal St is input, both welding power sources are activated. The welding start circuit ST is provided in the robot controller for robot welding.
FIG. 5 is a timing chart showing an arc start control method of two-electrode arc welding when the above-described welding apparatus is used. (A) shows the welding start signal St, (B) shows the feeding speed Fw of the welding wire, (C) shows the consumable electrode arc welding voltage Vwa, and (D) shows the figure. Fig. 5E shows the consumable electrode arc welding current Iwa, Fig. 8E shows the non-consumable electrode arc welding voltage Vwb, Fig. F shows the non-consumable electrode arc welding current Iwb, and Figs. These are the schematic diagrams which show the arc generation state in each time. Hereinafter, a description will be given with reference to FIG.
(1) Forward feeding period (slow-down feeding period) at times t1 to t2
At time t1, as shown in FIG. 4A, when the welding start signal St becomes High level, the consumable electrode arc welding power source PSM and the non-consumable electrode arc welding power source PSP in FIG. 4 are activated. For this reason, as shown in FIGS. 5B and 5G, the feeding speed Fw changes to a small positive value, and the
(2) Reverse feed short circuit period from time t2 to t3 When the
(3) Backward feeding arc period from time t3 to t4 At time t3, as shown in FIG. 3G3, when the wire tip is separated from the
(4) Re-forward feeding period from time t4 to t5 When the backward feeding arc period Td elapses at time t4, the feeding motor WM in FIG. 4 is switched to forward rotation again. As a result, the feed speed Fw changes to a positive value and the
(5) Steady welding period after time t5 At time t5, as shown in FIG. 5E, no-load voltage is applied between the
In the two-electrode arc welding, by performing the arc start control as described above, it is possible to obtain a reliable arc start property with less spattering (for example, see Patent Document 1).
By the arc start control method of the two-electrode arc welding described above, a consumable electrode arc and a non-consumable electrode arc can be reliably generated. However, since the heat input to the base material is not sufficient at the time of the arc start, the arc start portion is less melted and the bead cross-sectional shape is also convex. When the bead cross-sectional shape is a convex shape, the conformity of the bead toe portion is poor, so that the mechanical characteristics of the welded portion are deteriorated. Furthermore, the bead appearance also lacks beauty. In addition, since two-electrode arc welding has two heat sources, it is often used at a relatively high welding speed. In such high-speed welding, the above problem becomes more prominent.
Therefore, the present invention provides an arc start control method for two-electrode arc welding that can optimize the melting of the arc start portion and can improve that the bead cross-sectional shape becomes a convex shape. Objective.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the first invention uses a welding torch having a consumable electrode and a non-consumable electrode disposed in a shield gas nozzle, and generates a consumable electrode arc and a non-consumable electrode arc. In the arc start control method of two-electrode arc welding,
Generating the consumable electrode arc between the consumable electrode and the base material, and after the consumable electrode arc is generated, feeding the consumable electrode at a steady feeding speed;
The non-consumable electrode arc is generated between the non-consumable electrode and the base material, and after the non-consumable electrode arc is generated, the non-consumable electrode arc is larger than a steady-state current value during a predetermined remaining heat period. Energizing a residual heat current of a value, and switching the supply speed of the consumable electrode to a residual heat supply speed faster than the steady supply speed according to the value of the residual heat current;
When the remaining heat period ends, the supply speed of the consumable electrode is switched from the remaining heat supply speed to the steady supply speed to shift the consumable electrode arc to a steady welding state and energize the non-consumable electrode arc. Switching the current value from the value of the residual heat current to the steady current value to shift the non-consumable electrode arc to a steady welding state;
An arc start control method for two-electrode arc welding characterized by comprising:
The second invention is provided with a slope at the time of switching from the residual heat supply speed to the steady supply speed and at the time of switching from the value of the residual heat current to the steady current value.
An arc start control method for two-electrode arc welding according to the first aspect of the present invention.
According to the present invention, sufficient heat input can be supplied to the base material at the time of arc start by energizing the residual heat current. Moreover, the arc length of the consumable electrode arc can be maintained at an appropriate value by increasing the feeding speed in accordance with the magnitude of the remaining heat current. For this reason, the melting of the arc start portion and the bead cross-sectional shape can be optimized, and a stable welding state can be maintained.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.
[Embodiment 1]
FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram of a welding apparatus for carrying out an arc start control method for two-electrode arc welding according to
The current detection circuit ID detects the non-consumable electrode arc welding current Iwb and inputs a current detection signal Id to the consumable electrode arc welding power source PSM. The reason for this is to synchronize the non-consumable electrode arc welding current Iwb and the feeding speed Fw of the
FIG. 2 is a timing chart showing an arc start control method for two-electrode arc welding according to
(5) Residual heat period Th at times t5 to t6
At time t5, as shown in FIG. 5E, no-load voltage is applied between the
Tdw
(6) Down slope period Tdw from time t6 to t7
When the remaining heat period Th ends at time t6, a predetermined downslope period Tdw is entered. During the downslope period Tdw, as shown in FIG. 4F, the non-consumable electrode arc welding current Iwb decreases from the residual heat current value Ih to the steady current value Ipc with a slope. Similarly, as shown in FIG. 5E, the non-consumable electrode arc welding voltage Vwb also has a slope and decreases to a steady voltage value. Further, as shown in FIG. 5B, the feeding speed Fw decreases from the residual heat feeding speed Fh to the steady feeding speed Fwc with an inclination. The reason why the down slope period Tdw is provided is to smoothly shift from the preheating period Th to the steady welding state.
(7) Steady welding period after time t7 At the time t7, when the down slope period Tdw is completed, a steady welding state is entered. That is, as shown in FIG. 5F, the non-consumable electrode arc welding current Iwb becomes a steady current value Ipc, and as shown in FIG. 5B, the feeding speed Fw becomes a steady feeding speed Fwc. Thereby, the arc start is completed.
The preheat current value Ih and preheat period Th are set in advance by experiments so that the melting of the arc start portion and the bead cross-sectional shape are optimized according to the material of the base material, the plate thickness, the joint, and the like. The above-described remaining heat feed rate Fh is set so that the arc length of the consumable electrode arc during the remaining heat period Th is maintained at an appropriate value in accordance with the remaining heat current value Ih. Since the remaining heat current value Ih is set to a value larger than the steady current value Ipc, the remaining heat supply speed Fh is faster than the steady supply speed Fwc. The down slope period Tdw is set so that the welding state smoothly transitions from the state of the remaining heat period to the steady state at the time of switching from the remaining heat current value Ih to the steady current value Ipc. Therefore, if the transition of the welding state is smooth even if the downslope period Tdw is removed, it is not necessary to provide the downslope period Tdw. In this case, at the time when the remaining heat period Th ends, the remaining heat current value Ih is immediately switched to the steady current value Ipc, and the remaining heat supply speed Fh is immediately switched to the steady feeding speed Fwc. For example, to give a numerical example of each of the above parameters, in the range of the steady current value Ipc = 50 to 150A, the remaining heat current Ih = 200 to 300A, the remaining heat period Th = 200 to 1000 ms, and the down slope period Tdw = 50 to 300 ms. Is set in the range.
In order to improve the penetration of the arc start portion, it is conceivable to adopt a so-called hot start method in which the consumable electrode arc welding current Iwa is initially increased. However, the consumable electrode arc welding current Iwa varies depending on the protrusion length, the arc load state, and the like. For this reason, there is a problem that it is difficult to supply stable heat input to the base material. On the other hand, since the residual heat current Ih is a constant value regardless of the distance between the electrode and the base material, the arc load state, etc., stable heat input can be supplied to the base material.
According to the first embodiment described above, sufficient heat input can be supplied to the base material at the time of arc start by energizing the residual heat current.
[Embodiment 2]
The second embodiment of the present invention differs from the first embodiment in the method of generating a consumable electrode arc. That is, in the first embodiment, the consumable electrode arc is generated by moving the welding wire backward as in the period from time t2 to t4 in FIG. On the other hand, in the second embodiment, similarly to a normal arc start method in consumable electrode arc welding, only the welding wire is fed forward to generate an arc. Hereinafter, the arc start control method of the two-electrode arc welding according to the second embodiment will be described.
The welding apparatus for carrying out the arc start control method for two-electrode arc welding according to the second embodiment is the same as that shown in FIG. However, the sequence control of the consumable electrode arc welding power source PSM and the non-consumable electrode arc welding power source PSP is different from that of the first embodiment, and this sequence control will be described later with reference to FIG.
FIG. 3 is a timing chart showing an arc start control method for two-electrode arc welding according to
(1) Forward feeding period (slow-down feeding period) at times t1 to t2
At time t1, as shown in FIG. 5A, when the welding start signal St becomes High level, the consumable electrode arc welding power source PSM and the non-consumable electrode arc welding power source PSP in FIG. 1 are activated. For this reason, as shown in FIGS. 5B and 5G, the feeding speed Fw changes to a small positive value, and the
(2) Period for Increasing Arc Length at Times t2 to t3 At time t2, as shown in FIG. 5G2, when the
The subsequent operation is basically the same as the operation after time t5 in FIG. That is, the period from time t3 to t4 in the figure corresponds to the period from time t5 to t6 in FIG. 2, the period from time t4 to t5 in FIG. 2 corresponds to time t6 to t7 in FIG. The period after t5 corresponds to the period after time t7 in FIG. Hereinafter, the operation after time t3 will be described.
(3) Residual heat period Th at times t3 to t4
At time t3, as shown in FIG. 5E, no-load voltage is applied between the
Tdw
(4) Down slope period Tdw from time t4 to t5
When the remaining heat period Th ends at time t4, a predetermined down slope period Tdw is entered.
(5) Steady welding period after time t5 At the time t5, when the down slope period Tdw is completed, the steady welding state is entered. That is, as shown in FIG. 5F, the non-consumable electrode arc welding current Iwb becomes a steady current value Ipc, and as shown in FIG. 5B, the feeding speed Fw becomes a steady feeding speed Fwc. Thereby, the arc start is completed.
The method for setting each parameter in the second embodiment described above is the same as that in the first embodiment. The effects of the second embodiment are the same as those of the first embodiment.
