Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a liquid discharge head that discharges liquid.
As an inkjet head for ejecting ink droplets onto a recording medium such as printing paper, a reservoir unit in which a reservoir for storing ink is formed, a common ink chamber into which ink from the reservoir flows, and a pressure chamber from an outlet of the common ink chamber are provided. A flow path unit in which a large number of individual ink flow paths leading to the nozzles are formed, and an actuator that adds ejection energy to the ink in the pressure chambers by changing the volume of each pressure chamber while being fixed to the flow path unit. Some have (for example, refer to Patent Document 1).
As the environmental temperature decreases, the viscosity of the ink in the inkjet head increases. When the viscosity of the ink increases, it is necessary to increase the driving force of the actuator in order to eject a desired volume of ink droplets from the nozzle. In this case, the power consumption increases as the drive voltage of the actuator increases. Therefore, it is conceivable to warm the ink in the inkjet head so that the viscosity of the ink does not increase even when the environmental temperature is lowered. In the above-described inkjet head, an actuator is provided between the reservoir unit and the flow path unit. Since the arranged gap is formed, even if the reservoir unit is heated, the heat of the reservoir unit is not easily transmitted to the flow path unit, and it is difficult to efficiently heat the ink in the flow path unit. On the other hand, in order to individually warm the reservoir unit and the flow path unit, it is necessary to prepare two heaters, which increases the cost of the inkjet head.
An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid discharge head capable of achieving cost reduction and power saving while maintaining temperature characteristics.
The liquid discharge head according to the present invention includes a reservoir unit in which a reservoir for storing the liquid and outflowing the stored liquid from the outlet is formed, an inlet connected to the outlet of the reservoir unit, and the inlet A common liquid chamber to which the inflowed liquid is supplied, a flow path unit in which a plurality of individual liquid flow paths from the outlet of the common liquid chamber to the nozzle through the pressure chamber are formed, the reservoir unit, and the flow path unit A gap formed between the actuator unit, an actuator unit that is joined to the flow path unit in the gap, and applies discharge energy to the liquid in the plurality of pressure chambers, and a driver IC that drives the actuator unit A flat flexible cable for supplying a drive signal from the driver IC to the actuator unit. It is provided. The driver IC is thermally coupled to the outer wall surface of the reservoir unit, and at least in the gap, the region has a thermal conductivity from air in a region extending from the surface of the reservoir unit facing the actuator unit to the actuator unit. Is continuously filled with a high thermal conductive resin.
According to the present invention, since the reservoir unit and the flow path unit are efficiently thermally coupled by the thermally conductive resin via the actuator unit, the heat from the driver IC is transferred from the reservoir unit to the thermally conductive resin and the actuator. It is efficiently transmitted to the flow path unit via the unit. Therefore, the liquid in the reservoir unit and the flow path unit can be efficiently warmed without preparing a separate heater, and it is not necessary to increase the driving force of the actuator unit even when the environmental temperature is low. Thereby, it is possible to achieve power saving and cost reduction of the liquid discharge head while maintaining the temperature characteristics.
In the present invention, a region from the surface of the reservoir unit facing the actuator unit to the flow path unit in the gap is continuously filled with the thermally conductive resin via the flat flexible cable. May be.
Moreover, in this invention, it is preferable that the said heat conductive resin is filled in the whole region of the said space | gap. According to this, the heat from the driver IC is more efficiently transmitted from the reservoir unit to the flow path unit via the heat conductive resin.
Furthermore, in the present invention, it is preferable to further include a metallic housing that surrounds the reservoir unit and the driver IC and is thermally coupled to the driver IC. According to this, since the driver IC is surrounded by the housing, heat from the driver IC is not radiated to the outside. Further, heat from the driver IC is further transmitted to the reservoir unit through the housing.
At this time, it is preferable that the housing further surrounds the flow path unit. According to this, the heat from the reservoir unit is efficiently transmitted to the flow path unit.
Furthermore, at this time, it is more preferable that the casing is in contact with the peripheral edge of the ejection surface where the nozzle opens. According to this, the discharge surface can be protected.
At this time, it is preferable that the thermally conductive resin is interposed between a peripheral edge of the ejection surface and the housing. According to this, the housing and the vicinity of the discharge surface of the flow path unit can be surely thermally joined, and the liquid in the nozzle can be warmed efficiently.
In the present invention, it is preferable that the thermally conductive resin is filled between the housing and the driver IC. According to this, the heat from the driver IC is more efficiently transmitted to the reservoir unit via the heat conductive resin.
At this time, the laminate composed of the reservoir unit and the flow path unit stacked with the gap interposed therebetween has a rectangular shape with one direction as a longitudinal direction in a plan view as viewed from the stacking direction, In the gap, a plurality of the actuator units are arranged at equal intervals along a center line extending in the longitudinal direction of the reservoir unit, and the thermally conductive resin filled in the gap is along the longitudinal direction. And in contact with the housing through a plurality of openings formed in the side surface of the laminate so as to be alternately arranged across the center line, on the surface of the reservoir unit opposite to the gap A plurality of driver ICs respectively corresponding to the actuator units are arranged along the center line at the same interval as the actuator units, Wherein the thermally conductive resin filled between the body and the driver IC so as to connect each other over a plurality of driver IC, it is preferably disposed along said center line. According to this, since the opening of the air gap, the arrangement of the actuator unit, and the driver IC are regular, heat from the driver IC is uniformly transmitted to the entire reservoir unit and the flow path unit.
At this time, the heat conductive resin may be interposed at least between the side surface of the laminate and the housing. According to this, the heat from the driver IC is efficiently transmitted to the reservoir unit and the flow path unit.
In the present invention, it is preferable that a through hole extending from the outer wall surface to the gap is formed. According to this, the heat conductive resin can be efficiently filled into the gap.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

As shown in FIG. 1, the

The upper surface of the platen 19 is in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the upper loop of the conveyor belt 8 and supports it from the inner peripheral side of the conveyor belt 8. Thereby, the outer peripheral surface 8a of the upper loop of the conveying belt 8 and the lower surface of the inkjet head 1, that is, the

Next, the inkjet head 1 will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view along the sub-scanning direction that is the width direction of the inkjet head 1. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the ink-jet head 1 taken along the line III-III shown in FIG. In FIG. 3, the
As shown in FIG. 2, the inkjet head 1 includes a
The
As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, a
In addition, a thermal
Thus, the lower surface of the
Further, the lower surface of the
One end of the
As shown in FIG. 4, four
Further, the inner wall surface of the

As shown in FIG. 3, the

In the present embodiment, 16 rows of
As shown in FIG. 6, the
The ink flow in the
Next, the
As shown in FIG. 7A, the
The
Here, a driving method of the
In the present embodiment, a predetermined potential is applied to the
As described above, according to the ink jet head 1 according to the present embodiment, the
Further, the
Furthermore, since the lower end of the
Since the opening 90 a of the
Since the
The preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described above. However, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made as long as they are described in the claims. In the above-described embodiment, the side surfaces of the

In the above-described embodiment, the
Furthermore, in the embodiment described above, the
In the embodiment described above, the
In the above-described embodiment, the
