Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an inkjet head and an inkjet recording apparatus that perform recording by discharging ink from an inkjet head to a recording medium.
As an image forming unit, an ink jet head is mounted on a carriage, and an ink pattern is formed by ejecting ink droplets from the ink jet head and landing on a recording medium while reciprocating the carriage in the main scanning direction. There is.
An ink jet printer is an apparatus that records an image by ejecting ink droplets onto a recording medium such as paper from an ink jet head. Among them, the on-demand method, which ejects minute ink droplets only when recording is necessary, is currently mainstream. In the on-demand method, the pressure generating source provided in the liquid chamber for discharging the fine droplets increases the pressure in the pressure chamber by the displacement of the piezoelectric element, and the liquid is discharged by the heater and the piezoelectric type. A distinction is made between the thermal method in which bubbles are generated in the ink in the room and the ink is ejected. In either method, a pressure generation source is activated by a drive signal from a drive IC chip for driving an inkjet head, and ink droplets are ejected from nozzles to land on a recording medium.
In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for miniaturization and cost reduction in inkjet heads. In response, the drive IC chip is about to be inserted into the inkjet head. In view of the problem related to miniaturization of the ink jet head, a configuration in which a driving IC chip is flip-chip bonded to the ink jet head has been proposed. For example, a configuration in which a drive IC chip is flip-chip bonded between subframes on an actuator substrate to reduce the size of an inkjet head has been proposed.
On the other hand, since a large current flows through the drive IC chip when a drive signal is output to the inkjet head, the drive IC chip generates heat and the temperature rises. When the heat generated from the driving IC chip is transmitted to the ink through the common liquid chamber forming substrate or the individual liquid chamber forming substrate, the viscosity of the ink changes and the ejection behavior from the nozzle changes.
In addition, when the heat is transferred along the ink flow in the common liquid chamber, the temperature of the ink increases as it goes downstream of the common liquid chamber. Therefore, the temperature of the ink is determined for each individual liquid chamber arranged along the common liquid chamber. However, the discharge behavior from the nozzle changes for each individual liquid chamber. As a result, problems such as printing unevenness may occur. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures to reduce the temperature difference of the ink due to the heat generated by the driving IC chip inserted into the ink jet head.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. H10-228688 proposes reducing the ink temperature difference in the individual liquid chambers caused by the heat generated by the driving IC chip. According to this, the individual liquid chambers belonging to the same individual liquid chamber row are arranged in a curved shape with respect to the drive IC chip. Thereby, the difference in the distance between the drive IC chip and each individual liquid chamber is reduced, and the difference in the amount of heat transmitted to the individual liquid chamber is reduced.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2004-228620 proposes that the common liquid chamber forming member is provided with a cooling channel to make the ink temperature in the common liquid chamber uniform. According to this, a temperature uniformizing member such as a heat pipe or a cooling channel is provided in the common liquid chamber forming member in which a plurality of ink common liquid chambers are formed. As a result, the heat generated from the pressure generating member for discharging the ink is received and discharged to the cooling liquid in the heat pipe or the cooling channel via the common liquid chamber forming member, and temperature unevenness in the ink in the common liquid chamber is generated. It is suppressed. In this configuration, by disposing the heat pipe and the cooling flow path between the common liquid chamber and the pressure generating member, it becomes possible to appropriately suppress heat from the pressure generating member, It is possible to efficiently reduce temperature unevenness in the ink.
However, in the configuration in which the driving IC chip is flip-chip bonded between the sub frames on the actuator substrate, the common liquid chamber forming substrate is provided in the upper surface direction of the driving IC chip, and the driving IC chip and the common liquid chamber are provided. Since there is a gap in the formation substrate, the effect of suppressing the temperature rise in the drive IC chip is limited.
Further, in the configuration described in Patent Document 1, since the individual liquid chambers must be arranged in a curved shape so that the temperature difference is small, there is a limit to downsizing the inkjet head.
Further, in the configuration described in
The present invention is for solving the above-mentioned problems, and an object of the present invention is to achieve the temperature of the ink in the individual liquid chamber caused by the heat generated by the driving IC chip inserted into the inkjet head. To provide an ink jet head capable of reducing the difference.
In order to achieve this object, the present invention has the following features.
An ink jet head according to the present invention includes a nozzle plate provided with nozzles, a channel plate that forms an individual liquid chamber partitioned by a channel partition wall in the first direction, and a part of the individual liquid chamber. , A pressure generating element formed on the diaphragm, an actuator substrate having a drive circuit wiring for driving the pressure generating element, and a subframe for protecting the pressure generating element And a common liquid chamber forming substrate in which a common liquid chamber is formed to supply liquid to the individual liquid chamber and extend in the first direction, and a supply hole for supplying liquid to the common liquid chamber is formed. The manifolds are stacked in order, and are in contact with the drive circuit wiring in the vicinity of the subframe and send a drive signal to the drive circuit wiring, and heat generated from the drive IC chip. Dissipating heat dissipation part And a housing, wherein a through hole is formed in the common liquid chamber forming substrate and the manifold in the vicinity of a terminal portion of the common liquid chamber from the drive IC chip toward the housing. The heat dissipation member in contact with at least one surface of the drive IC chip is in contact with the housing through the through hole.
According to the present invention, the temperature downstream of the common liquid chamber in the drive IC chip integrated in the ink jet head can be lowered, so that the heat transferred from the IC to the common liquid chamber is small downstream of the common liquid chamber. Thus, the temperature difference in the common liquid chamber can be suppressed.
Hereinafter, the present embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view of an ink jet head for explaining the first embodiment. FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line A-A ′ of FIG. 1.
Referring to FIG. 1, the inkjet head includes a
The through

In the present embodiment, the heat generated from the
At this time, the heat generated from the

In the present embodiment, since the first

In the present embodiment, the portion of the first
