Abstract
Description
一連のトリエステル、すなわち表1に示す実施例1〜9は、次の典型的手順を使用して合成した。プロポキシル化グリセロール(10.14wt%、35.47g、分子数(Mn)〜266、ウィスコンシン州ミルオーキーのシグマ−アルドリッチ・ファインケミカル社(Sigma-Aldrich Fine Chemical)から)、Unicid(登録商標)550(89.86wt%、314.35g、テキサス州シュガーランドのベーカー・ペトロライト社から入手できるカルボン酸)およびFascat(登録商標)4100(0.1wt%、0.35g、ペンシルバニア州フィラデルフィアのアルケマ(Arkema)社から入手できるブチル錫酸触媒)を、4Nの蓋を有し、機械式撹拌機、熱電対、ディーンスタークトラップを備えた1リットルの反応釜に不活性雰囲気下で仕込んだ。反応混合物を、すべての成分を溶融しながら100℃まで加熱し、撹拌を開始し、そして温度を180℃まで昇温した。混合物を180℃で5時間撹拌し、その間に若干の水を捕集した。真空を10分間印加し、すべての水を除去し、真空を止め、不活性雰囲気で置換し、加熱を停止した。生成物を、120℃まで冷却し、アルミニウム皿に注ぎ、室温まで冷却して灰白色の固体を得た。フーリエ変換赤外分光法(FT−IR)を使用して生成物を評価した。FT−IRは、エステルの存在を示す1738cm−1にピークを示した。複合粘度を、コーン−プレート形状(50mm)のRheometrics Fluid Spectrometer RFS3を用い、120℃で低から高の剪断速度を使用して測定し、結果を表1に報告する。
表2のインク組成物を、150mLガラスビーカーの2アリコート(2 aliquots)中で、インク実施例2について本明細書に重量部で記載した通りのそれぞれの成分量;すなわち、実施例2のトリエステル(55.58wt%、27.79g)、ベヘン酸ベヘニル(22.43wt%、11.21g、コネティカット州ウォータータウンのコスター・ケウネン社(Koster Keunen)から入手したKesterワックス)、ステアリルステアルアミド(9.75wt%、4.88g、ケムチュラ社(Chemtura)から入手できるS−180)、米国特許第6,860,930号の実施例IIに記載のように調製されたトリアミド樹脂(9.75wt%、4.88g)を添加することによって調製した。材料を、オーブン中、約120℃の温度で約1時間一緒に溶融し、120℃に設定されたTelemodel 40CTで制御された反応ブロック(ミュンヘンのハー・プルス・ペー・ラボアテヒニク社(H+P Labortechnik)製)に移した。混合物を、約300rpmで約2時間撹拌した。次いで、この混合物に、ソルベントレッド(Solvent Red)49(ビーエーエスエフ社)(2.5wt%、1.25g)を添加した。インクを、さらに3時間撹拌し、次いで、120℃で、6psig(ゲージ圧で6psi)に加圧した0.45μmのParker(登録商標)ディスクフィルターを通して濾過した。濾過した相変化インクを、アルミニウムの型に注いで固化させて、インクスティックを形成した。インクを、コーン−プレート形状(50mm)のRheometrics Fluid Spectrometer RFS3を用いてレオロジーを測定することによって特徴付けた。
Claims (4)
- 着色剤とインクキャリアとを含有する相変化インクであって、
前記インクキャリアが、下記に示す式のトリエステルを含む、相変化インク。
(上記式中、R1、R2およびR3は、それぞれ、他とは独立して、(a)直鎖および分枝のアルキル基などのアルキル基(ここで、該アルキル基、環式および非環式、置換および非置換のアルキル基中にはヘテロ原子が存在してもしなくてもよい)、(b)置換および非置換のアリール基などのアリール基(ここで、該アリール基中にはヘテロ原子が存在してもしなくてもよい)、(c)置換および非置換のアリールアルキル基などのアリールアルキル基(ここで、該アリールアルキル基のアルキル部分は、直鎖または分枝、環式または非環式、置換または非置換であることができ、かつ該アリールアルキル基のアリール部分またはアルキル部分のどちらかにはヘテロ原子が存在してもしなくてもよい)、あるいは(d)置換および非置換のアルキルアリール基などのアルキルアリール基(ここで、該アルキルアリール基のアルキル部分は、直鎖または分枝、環式または非環式、置換または非置換であることができ、かつ該アルキルアリール基のアリール部分またはアルキル部分のどちらかにはヘテロ原子が存在してもしなくてもよい)であり、nは約1〜約50の整数である。) - 請求項1に記載の相変化インクであって、トリエステルが、再生可能な資源から誘導される少なくとも1種の成分を含む、相変化インク。
- 請求項1に記載の相変化インクであって、トリエステルが、植物油のエステル交換によるバイオディーゼル製造の副産物であるプロポキシル化グリセロール出発原料を用いて調製される、相変化インク。
