Abstract
【解決手段】液晶表示パネルは、アレイ基板、対向基板、及び液晶層を含む。アレイ基板は、画素領域を反射領域と透過領域で定義する反射電極と、透過領域に配置され複数の第1スリット電極を含む透過電極を含む。対向基板は反射領域に対応して配置され、第1スリット電極の幅より広い幅を有する複数の第2スリット電極を含む第1共通電極を含む。液晶層は、アレイ基板と前記対向基板との間に介在される。スリット電極の長軸方向に配向される特性を用いて高透過及び高反射特性を得ることができ、また、広視野角特性を得ることができる。

Description
なお、異なるものとして定義しない限り、技術的であるか科学的な用語を含めてここで用いられる全ての用語は、本発明が属する技術分野において通常の知識を有する者によって一般的に理解されるものと同一の意味を有している。一般的に用いられる辞典に定義されているもののような用語は、関連技術の文脈上で有する意味と一致する意味を有することと解釈すべきであり、本出願で明白に定義されない限り、異常的であるか過度に形式的な意味に解釈されない。
図1は、本発明の実施例1による液晶表示パネルの断面図である。図2は、図1に図示されたアレイ基板の平面図である。図3は、図1に図示された対向基板の平面図である。
図15は、本発明の実施例2による液晶表示パネルの断面図である。図16は、図15に図示されたアレイ基板の平面図である。図17は、図15に図示された対向基板の平面図である。前記実施例2の液晶表示パネルは、前記実施例1の液晶表示パネルと比較して反射領域に配置された第2共通電極を除いては実質的に同じである。以下では、前記実施例1の液晶表示パネルと同じ構成要素には同じ参照符号を付与して、反復される詳細な説明は省略する。
図21は、本発明の実施例3による液晶表示パネルの断面図である。前記実施例3の液晶表示パネルは、前記実施例1の液晶表示パネルと比較して対向基板に配置された共通電極とアレイ基板に配置された画素電極を除いては実質的に同じである。以下では、前記実施例1の液晶表示パネルと同じ構成要素には同じ参照符号を付与して、反復される詳細な説明は省略する。
図22は、本発明の実施例4による液晶表示パネルの断面図である。図23は、図22に図示されたアレイ基板の平面図である。図24は、図22に図示された対向基板の平面図である。以下では、前記実施例1の液晶表示パネルと同じ構成要素には同じ参照符号を付与し、反復された詳細な説明は省略する。

Claims (9)
- 画素領域に配置された画素電極を含み、前記画素電極は前記画素領域の反射領域に配置された反射電極と前記画素領域の透過領域に配置され複数の第1スリット電極を含む透明電極を含むアレイ基板と、
前記反射領域に対応して配置され、前記第1スリット電極の幅より広い幅を有する複数の第2スリット電極を含む第1共通電極を含む対向基板と、
前記アレイ基板と前記対向基板との間に介在された液晶層と、を含む液晶表示パネル。 - 前記第1スリット電極の幅と、隣接した前記第1スリット電極間の間隔はそれぞれ0μm超過10μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第1及び第2スリット電極は、複数の長軸方向を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第1共通電極と離隔して前記透過領域に対応して配置された第2共通電極を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記第2共通電極は、板構造であることを特徴とする請求項4記載の液晶表示パネル。
- 前記液晶層は、
前記アレイ基板の第1配向膜に反応性メソゲンモノマーが硬化された第1硬化層と、
前記対向基板の第2配向膜に反応性メソゲンモノマーが硬化された第2硬化層と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示パネル。 - 前記第1硬化層は、前記反射領域に対応して形成された第1プレチルト角と前記透過領域に対応して形成された第2プレチルト角を有し、
前記第2硬化層は前記反射領域に対応して形成された第3プレチルト角と前記透過領域に対応して形成された第4プレチルト角を有することを特徴とする請求項6記載の液晶表示パネル。 - 前記第1スリット電極の幅が1μmである場合、前記第2スリット電極の幅は0.5μm乃至2μmであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の液晶表示パネル。
- アレイ基板を提供する段階と、
対向基板を提供する段階と、
前記アレイ基板と前記対向基板との間に反応性メソゲンモノマーを含む液晶層を形成する段階と、
第1共通電極に第1電圧を印加して前記液晶層を駆動させた状態で光を照射して前記アレイ基板及び前記対向基板のそれぞれの配向膜上に反射モードのプレチルト角を有する硬化層を形成する段階と、
第2共通電極に第2電圧を印加して前記液晶層を駆動させた状態で光を照射して前記アレイ基板及び前記対向基板のそれぞれの配向膜上に透過モードのプレチルト角を有する硬化層を形成する段階と、を含む液晶表示パネルの製造方法。
