Claims (6)
- 투과영역과 반사영역이 동일한 셀갭의 싱글 셀갭 구조를 가지는 반투과형 프린지 필드 스위칭 모드 액정표시장치로서,상대전극 및 화소전극이 구비된 하부기판이 액정층의 개재하에 상부기판과 대향 배치되고, 상기 상부기판의 외측에 상부 편광판이 배치되며, 상기 하부기판의 외측에 하부 편광판이 배치되고, 상기 반사영역의 하부기판의 내측에는 반사판이 구비되며, 상기 반사판을 구비한 하부기판과 액정층 사이에 상측 λ/4 플레이트가 구비되고, 상기 하부기판과 하부 편광판 사이에 하측 λ/4 플레이트가 구비되며, 상기 상대전극과 화소전극 사이에 제 1 보호막이 구비되고, 상기 반사영역의 화소전극 상에 제 2 보호막이 구비된 구조로 이루어지되, 상기 투과영역의 상대전극과 화소전극 사이에 구비되는 제 1 보호막의 두께가 상기 반사영역의 반사판과 화소전극 사이에 구비되는 제 1 보호막의 두께와 반사영역의 화소전극 상에 구비되는 제 2 보호막의 두께를 합한 것과 같고, 상기 반사영역의 액정층의 위상지연치는 0 또는 λ/2로 스위칭되고 상기 투과영역 액정층의 위상지연치는 0 또는 λ/2로 스위칭되며, 상기 하부 편광판의 투과축은 액정층의 초기 러빙방향과 일치하고, 상기 상부 편광판의 투과축은 상기 하부 편광관의 투과축과 직교하며, 상기 하측 λ/4 플레이트와 상측 λ/4 플레이트의 광축은 서로 직교하고, 상기 하측 λ/4 플레이트의 광축은 초기 액정층의 러빙방향과 135˚를 이루며, 상기 상측 λ/4 플레이트의 광축은 초기 액정층의 러빙방향과 45˚를 이루는 것을 특징으로 하는 반투과형 프린지 필드 스위칭 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 제 2 보호막의 유전율은 2~7인 것을 특징으로 하는 반투과형 프린지 필드 스위칭 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 투과영역의 상대전극과 화소전극 사이에 형성되는 제 1 보호막의 두께는 3,500~10,000 Å인 것을 특징으로 하는 반투과형 프린지 필드 스위칭 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 상측 λ/4 플레이트는 100~200 ㎚의 위상지연치 값을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 반투과형 프린지 필드 스위칭 모드 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 반사영역 및 투과영역의 액정층은 250~400 ㎚의 위상지연치를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 반투과형 프린지 필드 스위칭 모드 액정표시장치.
