Claims (14)
- 第1の基板、第2の基板、および前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板の間に配置された液晶層を含み、前記第1の基板が、Oプレートとして構成されかつ薄膜トランジスタ層を支持する第1の高次波長板を含む液晶マイクロディスプレイ・パネルと、
前記第1の基板のスペクトルおよび角度の線形リターダンス分散を補償するための、Oプレートとして構成された第2の高次波長板を含み、前記第2の高次波長板が、前記第1の高次波長板の複屈折と符号が反対の複屈折を有するリターダ補償器と、
を備える液晶マイクロディスプレイ。 - 前記第2の高次波長板の厚さおよびC軸の傾斜角が、前記第2の高次波長板のスペクトルおよび角度の線形リターダンス分散が前記第1の高次波長板の前記スペクトルおよび角度の分散を実質的に打ち消すように選択される請求項1に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の高次波長板の前記C軸が、前記第2の高次波長板のC軸と同一の傾斜面で配向される請求項2に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記液晶マイクロディスプレイ・パネルが偏光子と検光子の間に配置され、前記傾斜面が前記偏光子の透過軸および前記検光子の透過軸のうちの1つと実質的に平行である請求項3に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の高次波長板の前記C軸が、前記第2の高次波長板のC軸と同一の傾斜面で配向される請求項1に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の高次波長板が高次サファイア波長板を備える請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記第2の高次波長板が高次石英波長板を備える請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記第2の高次波長板が高次石英波長板を備える請求項6に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の高次波長板の厚さが少なくとも200マイクロメートルであり、前記第2の高次波長板の厚さが少なくとも200マイクロメートルである請求項8に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記リターダ補償器が前記第2の高次波長板に結合されたトリム・リターダを備える請求項1から5のいずれか一項に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記トリム・リターダが、前記第2の高次波長板上に堆積された薄膜複屈折層および薄膜構造複屈折層のうち少なくとも1つを備える請求項10に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記薄膜複屈折層および前記薄膜構造複屈折層が、Aプレート、Cプレート、およびOプレートのうちの1つとして構成される請求項11に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記薄膜複屈折層および前記薄膜構造複屈折層が、単一層のAプレートとして構成される請求項11に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
- 前記リターダ補償器が前記第2の高次波長板に結合されたトリム・リターダを備える請求項8に記載の液晶マイクロディスプレイ。
