Abstract
Description
有利には、しかしながら、第1および第2部分が作られる材料は、生ずる摩耗破片の量および摩耗率が、アセタールまたは超高分子量ポリエチレンのような他のポリマー材料から作られた対応する部位に対するより著しく小さいようなものであり得る。
また、それは単一タイプだけの炭素繊維、−例えば、PANベースの、またはピッチベースだけの、しかし2つのタイプの混合物ではない、炭素繊維を含んでよい。

UHMWPE −DuPuy Orthopaedics(整形外科)から得られた超高分子量ポリエチレンを指す。
ピンはすべて射出成型されたプラークから機械加工された。プラークはすべて、標準条件、例えばInvibio社から入手可能な一般的な文献に記載されていた条件を用いて製造された。機械加工されたピンは約1ミクロンの表面粗さ(Sa)を与えるように磨かれた。ピンはすべて水性のエタノールおよび脱塩水で洗浄され、Invibio社から入手可能な一般的な文献に記載されているように例えば一般的なアニーリング手順を用いてアニールされた。ピンはすべて、ポリマー流れの方向によってもたらされるいかなるファイバー整列も往復運動と平行になるように機械加工された。明示された以外は、ピンはすべて50 kGyのガンマー線照射量で殺菌された。
すべてのプレートは射出成型されたプラークから機械加工された。プラークはすべて標準条件を用いて製造された。機械加工されたプレートは射出成型表面が仕上がり(約0.1ミクロンのSa)を維持するように機械加工された。すべてのプレートは、水性エタノールおよび脱塩水で洗浄され、一般的なアニーリング手順を用いてアニールされた。すべてのプレートは、ポリマー流れの方向によってもたらされたいかなるファイバー整列も往復運動と平行となるように機械加工された。
ピン−オン−プレート機械が用いられた。機械は、往復運動と回転運動の両方を適用した4ステーションのピン−オン−プレート機械であった。往復運動は2つの固定した平行な硬化スチールバーに従って移動するそりによって適用され、ならびに熱したベッド、潤滑性のトレーおよびプレート保持具が、このそりの上に置かれた。回転運動は小さなモーターを用いて、各ピンに適用された。往復運動および回転の両方のサイクル周波数は、約1 Hzにセットされた。プレート保持具は、プレート試料が係留された4つのウェルから成っていた。潤滑剤は潤滑性のトレー内に含まれており、ベッド内の抵抗器によって37 ℃の温度に加熱された。これは熱電対によって制御された。負荷(20 Nまたは40 Nのいずれか)が、レバーアーム機構によって各ステーションに適用された。潤滑剤がほとんど一定のレベルに維持されることを可能にするために、白金ワイヤから作られた潤滑剤レベルセンサーが、潤滑剤トレーに付けられた。これは蒸留水溜めからの水でレベル回復された。電子計数器が往復運動するそりに接続された。ストローク長さは25 mmにセットされた。大気からのほこり汚染を防ぐために、カバーが全装備上に設けられた。
実施例1および2に記載された手順を用いて、ピンおよびプレートが作成され、およびその組み合わせが実施例3に記載された一般的な手順を用いて、特定負荷の下でテストされた。使用された材料、適用された負荷、計算された摩耗因子が、表1に提供される。表2は、選択された実施例についての体積摩耗について記述する。
上述されたプロセスと類似のプロセスによって、互いに対して支え合うPEEK-OPTIMA LT1およびPAN炭素繊維ピンおよびプレートの摩耗性能は、互いに対して支え合うPEEK-OPTIMA LT1およびピッチ系炭素繊維ピンおよびプレートの摩耗パフォーマンスと比較された。
表1を見ると、未殺菌PEEK連結の全摩耗が、殺菌PEEK連結の全摩耗に類似していることが理解できる。
Claims (23)
- 前記第1部分および前記第2部分は互いに動き得る、請求項1に記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1および第2部分は使用時に潤滑化される、請求項1または請求項2に記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記アセンブリーは人体の構造要素を交換するような人体における移植用である、請求項1〜3のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記アセンブリーが、脊椎の中またはその周囲での使用、もしくは人工関節での使用のためのものである、請求項1〜4のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1または第2部分の1つはオス要素を含み、および前記第1または第2部分の他の1つはメス要素を含み、該オスおよびメス要素は互いに対して支え合うものである、請求項1〜5のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1複合材料を含む前記第1部分の支持表面は、前記第2複合材料を含む前記第2部分の支持表面と接触する、請求項1〜6のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1部分は、実質的に全体的に前記第1複合材料で作られ;
または、前記第1部分は前記第1複合材料以外の材料を含むが、しかし、前記第1部分の支持表面は前記複合材料によって規定され;
および、前記第2部分は実質的に全体的に前記第2複合材料で作られ;
または、前記第2部分は前記第2複合材料以外の材料を含むが、しかし、前記第2部分の支持表面は前記第2複合材料によって規定される、請求項1〜7のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。 - 前記アセンブリーの第1または第2部分の1つがヘッドを規定し、および他の部分が、旋回できるソケットを規定する、請求項1〜8のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記アセンブリーが人工股関節置換のためのものである、請求項1〜9のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記ポリマー材料は一般式Iであって、t=1およびv=0である、請求項1〜10のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1ポリマー材料は式Iの反復単位を少なくとも60モル% 含む、請求項1〜11のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1ポリマー材料はt=1およびv=0である式Iの反復単位から本質的に成り、ならびに前記第2ポリマー材料はt=1およびv=0である式Iの反復単位から本質的に成る、請求項1〜12のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1ポリマー材料および前記第2ポリマー材料は同様である、請求項1〜13のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1複合材料は、前記第1ポリマー材料を少なくとも30 wt%、および炭素繊維を70 wt% まで含む、請求項1〜14のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1複合材料は、式Iのポリマー材料を60 〜80 wt%、および炭素繊維を20 〜40 wt% 含む、請求項1〜15のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第2複合材料は、式Iのポリマー材料を60 〜80 wt%、および炭素繊維を20 〜40 wt% 含む、請求項1〜16のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1部分は、前記第1ポリマー材料とPANベースの炭素繊維とを含む第1複合材料を含み、ならびに前記第2部分は前記第2ポリマー材料とPANベースの炭素繊維とを含む前記第2複合材料を含む、請求項1〜17のいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリー。
- 前記第1要旨のアセンブリーを提供するキットであって、
(c)請求項1〜18のうちのいずれか1つに記述されるような第1部分;および
(d)請求項1〜18のうちのいずれか1つに記載されるような第2部分を含み;
前記第1部分および前記第2部分は、第1および第2部分を互いに対して支え合うアセンブリーを規定するために協働可能である、キット。 - 請求項1〜19のうちのいずれか1つに記載されるアセンブリーまたはキットを含む、パッケージ。
- 請求項1〜18のいずれか1つに記載の第1部分および第2部分を製造する方法であって、前記第1および第2それぞれの支持表面を、第1複合材料および第2複合材料からそれぞれ形成することを含む方法。
- (a)請求項1〜18のうちのいずれか1つに記載されているような第1部分を選択すること;
(b)請求項1〜18のうちのいずれか1つに記載されているような第2部分を選択すること;および
(c)部分が互いに他を支え合い、および前記アセンブリーを規定するように、第1および第2部分を接触させること、を含む、
請求項1〜18のうちいずれか1つに記載のアセンブリーを作る方法。 - 前記第1および第2部分が互いに対して支え合うことを含むアセンブリーの製造において、請求項1〜18のいずれか1つに記載の第1部分および請求項1〜18のいずれか1つに記載の第2部分の、人体移植への使用。
