Claims (18)
- ディスプレイを背面照明するように構成された異なる色の発光ダイオード(LED)のアレイ(24)と、
第1の動作モードで動作して、橙色LED(40)と、緑色LED(38)と、青色LED(36)とを含む多色LEDを一緒に点灯するように構成されたコントローラ(58)と
を備え、
前記第1の動作モードで前記コントローラにより動作された時のバックライトの照明強度および波長が、(NVIS)規格準拠システム用の最大レベルを超えない、暗視撮像システム(NVIS)適合ディスプレイ(12)用背面照明システム(16)。 - 前記LEDアレイ内に赤色LED(34)をさらに備え、
前記コントローラが、前記第1の動作モードで動作して前記橙色LEDを点灯するとともに前記赤色LEDを点灯せず、さらに第2の動作モードで動作して前記赤色LEDを点灯するように構成された請求項1に記載の背面照明システム。 - 前記第1の動作モードと前記第2の動作モードとを切り替えるように構成されたユーザコントロール(56)をさらに備える請求項2に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記コントローラがバックライト照明の実質的に連続制御を提供するとともに、前記コントローラがさらに、前記LEDの強度が前記ユーザコントロールを用いて連続的に変更されると、所与の強度において前記第2の動作モードから前記第1の動作モードに自動的に切り替わるように構成された請求項3に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記第2の動作モードが、暗視撮像システム(NVIS)規格準拠システム用の最大レベルを超える照明強度および波長を含まない請求項3に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記LEDアレイ内の少なくとも1色のLED上に配置された遠赤外線フィルタ(52、54)をさらに備える請求項1に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記LEDのアレイ内の少なくとも1色のLEDに配置された少なくとも1つのフィルタ(52、54)をさらに備え、低NVIS域および高NVIS域のうちの少なくとも一方内の放射線を低減する請求項1に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記ディスプレイが液晶ディスプレイである請求項1に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記LEDアレイと前記ディスプレイとの間に配置された拡散層(18)および混合層(20)のうちの少なくとも一方をさらに備え、前記拡散層が、前記LEDアレイにより生成された光を拡散するように構成されるとともに、前記混合層が、前記LEDアレイにより生成された光をほぼ均等に分散するように構成された請求項1に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記第2の動作モードで生成される照明が、昼光で前記ディスプレイを視認するために設計されるとともに、前記第1の動作モードで生成される照明が、非昼光で前記ディスプレイを視認するために設計される請求項2に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記第1の動作モードで生成される照明が、MIL−STD−3009に準拠している請求項2に記載の背面照明システム。
- 低NVIS域および高NVIS域のうちの少なくとも一方で生成された光の強度を低減するように構成された、LEDの各集合内の複数のLEDのうちの少なくとも1つ上に位置決めされたフィルタ(52、54)をさらに備える請求項2に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記LEDの各々が薄膜LEDである請求項2に記載の背面照明システム。
- 前記複数のLEDがコックピットディスプレイ用のコックピット照明システムを形成する請求項2に記載の背面照明システム。
- NVISに準拠しない第1の動作状態(70)時に赤色LED(34)を含む異なる色の複数のLED(26)を作動するステップと、
第2の動作状態(72)時に橙色LED(40)を含む異なる色の複数のLEDを作動する一方で前記赤色LEDを停止するとともに、前記LCDディスプレイを暗視機器で視認するステップと
を含み、
前記第2の動作状態時に放出される光の強度が、前記LCDディスプレイを暗視撮像システム(NVIS)で視認するための暗視規格に準拠する、NVISシステムと共に用いるLCDディスプレイ(12)の背面照明方法。 - 前記暗視規格がNVIS、タイプクラスB規格を含む請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の動作状態が前記ディスプレイの非暗視であるとともに、前記第2の動作状態が前記ディスプレイの暗視である請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記複数のLED内の少なくとも第1の有色LEDの強度を調整して、所望の比率による前記複数のLEDのスペクトル成分を提供するステップをさらに含む請求項15に記載の方法。
