Claims (31)

交感神経の興奮と交感神経の抑制のため、前記交感神経刺激パルスの前記送出を制御するようにされた交感神経刺激制御器と、
副交感神経の興奮と副交感神経の抑制のため、前記副交感神経刺激パルスの前記送出を制御するようにされた副交感神経刺激制御器とを含む、刺激制御回路と
を含む、神経刺激システム。 - 前記刺激制御回路は、前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の信号に基づき、前記交感神経刺激パルスと前記副交感神経刺激パルスの前記送出を制御する複数の刺激パラメータを調整するようにされた刺激パラメータ調整回路を含む請求項1に記載のシステム。
- 前記刺激パラメータ調整回路は、プログラム可能で、前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の信号を前記刺激パラメータにマッピングするプログラム可能なパラメータを使用して、前記複数の刺激パラメータを調整するようにされた請求項2に記載のシステム。
- 前記刺激パラメータ調整回路は、
前記複数の刺激パラメータの1つまたは複数の交感神経刺激パラメータを調整するようにされた交感神経刺激パラメータ調整モジュールと、
前記複数の刺激パラメータの1つまたは複数の副交感神経刺激パラメータを調整するようにされた副交感神経刺激パラメータ調整モジュールとを含み、
前記交感神経刺激制御器は、前記1つまたは複数の交感神経刺激パラメータを使用して、前記交感神経の興奮と前記交感神経の抑制のため、前記交感神経刺激パルスの前記送出を制御するようになされ、
前記副交感神経刺激制御器は、前記1つまたは複数の副交感神経刺激パラメータを使用して、前記副交感神経の興奮と前記副交感神経の抑制のため、前記副交感神経刺激パルスの前記送出を制御するようにされた請求項2または3に記載のシステム。 - 前記刺激パラメータ調整回路は、前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の信号を含む1つまたは複数の入力によるフィードバック制御をダイナミックに使用して、前記複数の刺激パラメータを動的に調整するようにされた請求項2から4のいずれかに記載のシステム。
- 前記刺激パラメータ調整回路は、所定の時間表に基づき、前記複数の刺激パラメータをさらに調整するようにされた請求項2から5のいずれかに記載のシステム。
- 前記自律神経平衡監視回路は、前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の神経信号を検知するようにされた神経連絡検知回路を含み、
前記刺激パラメータ調整回路は、前記1つまたは複数の神経信号に基づき、前記複数の刺激パラメータを調整するようにされた請求項2から6のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記神経連絡検知回路は、
交感神経連絡を表す少なくとも1つの交感神経信号を検知するようにされた交感神経連絡検知回路と、
副交感神経連絡を表す少なくとも1つの副交感神経信号を検知するようにされた副交感神経連絡検知回路とを含む請求項7に記載のシステム。 - 前記自律神経平衡監視回路は、前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の代理信号を検知するようにされた代理信号検知回路を含み、
前記刺激パラメータ調整回路は、前記1つまたは複数の代理信号に基づき、前記複数の刺激パラメータを調整するようにされた請求項2から8のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記代理信号検知回路は、心拍数変動(HRV)を検知し、前記検知されたHRVに基づき、前記1つまたは複数の代理信号の代理信号を生成する心拍数変動(HRV)検知回路を含む請求項9に記載のシステム。
- 前記自律神経平衡監視回路は、それぞれが前記自律神経活動に関連する1つまたは複数の生理機能を表す、1つまたは複数の生理機能信号を検知する生理機能検知回路を含み、
前記刺激パラメータ調整回路は、前記1つまたは複数の生理機能信号に基づき、前記複数の刺激パラメータを調整するようにされた請求項2から10のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記生理機能検知回路は、
心拍数を表す信号を検知する心拍数検知回路と、
身体活動レベルを表す信号を検知する活動検知回路と、
呼吸信号を検知する呼吸検知回路と、
経胸腔的インピーダンスまたは心臓インピーダンスを表す信号を検知するインピーダンス検知回路と、
心音を表す信号を検知する心音検知回路と、
血圧を表す信号を検知する圧検知回路と、
の1つまたは複数含む請求項11に記載のシステム。 - 前記刺激出力回路、前記自律神経平衡監視回路と前記刺激制御回路を収容する埋め込み型ハウジングをさらに含む請求項1から12のいずれかに記載のシステム。
- 前記刺激出力回路に結合された、1つまたは複数の埋め込み型神経リードをさらに含み、
前記1つまたは複数の神経リードは、前記交感神経刺激パルスと前記副交感神経刺激パルスを送るように構成された請求項13に記載のシステム。 - 前記刺激制御回路に結合され、前記埋め込み型ハウジング内に収容された心臓刺激回路をさらに含み、
前記心臓刺激回路は、心臓刺激パルスを送るようにされた請求項13、14のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 外部システムをさらに含み、
その外部システムが、
テレメトリを介して、前記刺激制御回路と結合して通信する外部機器と、
遠隔機器と、
前記外部機器と前記遠隔機器の間に結合された電気通信網とを含む請求項13から15のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の信号を検知するステップと、
前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の信号を含む、1つまたは複数の入力によるフィードバック制御を使用して、交感神経と副交感神経の刺激パルスの送出を制御するステップとを含み、
前記交感神経と副交感神経の刺激パルスの送出を制御するステップは、
交感神経の興奮と交感神経の抑制のため、前記交感神経刺激パルスの前記送出を制御するステップと、
副交感神経の興奮と副交感神経の抑制のため、前記副交感神経刺激パルスの前記送出を制御するステップと
を含む、方法。 - 前記交感神経と副交感神経の刺激パルスの送出を制御するステップは、選択された自律神経平衡を達成するように、交感神経と副交感神経の刺激パルスの前記送出を制御するステップを含む請求項17に記載の方法。

- 前記交感神経と副交感神経の刺激パルスの送出を制御するステップは、前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の信号に基づき、交感神経と副交感神経の刺激パルスの前記送出を制御する、複数の刺激パラメータを調整するステップを含む請求項17から22のいずれかに記載の方法。
- 前記自律神経活動を表す1つまたは複数の信号を前記刺激パラメータにマッピングするパラメータをプログラミングするステップをさらに含む請求項23に記載の方法。
- 前記複数の刺激パラメータを調整するステップは、
前記交感神経の興奮と前記交感神経の抑制を制御する、1つまたは複数の交感神経刺激パラメータを調整するステップと、
