Claims (25)
- ネオン光を模擬するための照明装置であって、
複数の所望の形状に成形され、光を拡散し、伝えるようにされた材料を含む細長い光ガイド、及び、
複数のLEDsを含む光エンジンであって、当該光エンジンが、作動可能に、前記細長い光ガイドに接続され、そこから選択的に除去可能であるものであり、当該光エンンジンが、前記光ガイドとの関係で、当該光エンジンから発生する光が、前記光ガイドを通過して、ネオン光を模擬するように配置されるものである、
を備える装置。 - 前記光ガイドが、熱成形可能な材料を備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記光ガイドが、前記光エンジンの少なくとも一部を受容するような寸法を持つキャビティを規定する、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記光ガイドが、第2の部材から間隔が空けられた第1の部材を含み、前記キャビティが、当該第1の部材と当該第2の部材の間に配置され、当該第1の部材と当該第2の部材の少なくとも1つが、光エンジン噛み合わせ部材を含み、前記光エンジンが、光ガイド噛み合わせ部材を含み、当該光エンジン噛み合わせ部材及び当該光ガイド噛み合わせ部材が互いに協動して、前記キャビティ内に前記光エンジンを維持する、
請求項3に記載の装置。 - 前記第1の部材と前記第2の部材の少なくとも1つが、前記キャビティを規定する内部面の上に配置された不透明の材料を含む、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 前記不透明な材料が、少なくとも部分的に反射的である、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 前記光ガイドが、光入力面と光出力面の間に配置された本体部分を含み、当該本体部分が、当該光入力面と当該光出力面の間で計測される、前記光ガイドの長手軸に亘る、中間平面厚さ(mid-plane thickness)tを有し、前記光ガイドが、tに垂直な線に沿って測定された幅wを有し、t:wの比率が、約0.75:1より小さい、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記光ガイドが、高さh、及び、当該高さhに垂直に測定される幅wを有する本体部分を含み、h:wの比率が、約1.5:1より小さい、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記光エンジンが、前記複数のLEDsの少なくとも1つの周りに配置された柔軟なハウジングを備える、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記ハウジングが、シリコーンのオーバーモールドを備える、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記光エンジンが、パワーを前記複数のLEDsに供給するための柔軟な電気的パワーコンダクターを備え、当該パワーコンダクタの少なくとも一部が、前記ハウジング内に配置される、請求項9に記載の装置。
- 前記光エンジンが少なくとも1つのひだ(crimp)を備える柔軟な電気的なパワーコンダクタを備え、或いは、複数のLEDsの少なくとも1つに隣接して、当該パワーコンダクタに、少なくとも1つのねじりが形成される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記光エンジンが、前記LEDsの少なくとも1つの上(over)に成形された(molded)弾力性を持つハウジングを備え、前記光ガイド及び当該ハウジングが、互いに選択的に付着(attach)するように構成される、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 前記光ガイド及び前記光エンジンが、互いに協動して、前記光ガイドの外側面の上に、少なくとも実質的に、前記光ガイドの長手軸に垂直に、その最も大きい寸法を有する光パターンを生成するようにされる、請求項1に記載の装置。
- ネオン光を模擬する照明装置を組み立てる方法であって、
光ガイドを、所望の構成に形成し、当該光ガイドが、中心軸を規定するものであり、そして、
柔軟な光エンジンを前記光ガイドに付着させて、当該光エンジンを、全体的に、前記光ガイドの中心軸に垂直な方向に移動させることによって、当該光エンジンが前記光ガイドから選択的に離脱できるようにするステップを含み、
前記光エンジンが、柔軟なパワーコンダクタに接続された複数のLEDsを備える方法。 - 前記形成するステップが、前記光ガイドを加熱して曲げるステップを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 請求項15に記載の方法であって、
前記光ガイドが、前記光エンジンを受容(receive)するようにされたチャンネルを含み、
前記方法が更に、
前記光ガイドを形成する前に、部材を前記チャンネル内に挿入し、前記光エンジンを前記光ガイドに付着(attaching)する前に、前記チャンネルから前記部材を除去するステップを含む方法。 - 前記光ガイドが、前記光ガイドを受容するための寸法を持つチャンネルを含み、
前記光エンジンが、少なくとも1つのLEDに対して弾力性のあるハウジングを含み、
前記付着させるステップが更に、前記光エンジンを前記チャンネル内に挿入して、前記弾力性のあるハウジングが、前記チャンネル内で圧縮されるようにするステップを含む、
請求項15に記載の方法。 - 細長い本体内に形成された長手方向のチャンネルを有する当該細長い本体であって、当該細長い本体が、いくつかの所望の構成に曲げられるようにされた材料を備え、当該材料が、光を散乱し透過させるようにもされるものであり、
前記細長い本体に付着された光エンジンであって、当該光エンジンが、少なくとも1つのLED、当該少なくとも1つのLEDと電気的に接続状態にある柔軟なパワーコンダクタ、及び、当該少なくとも1つのLEDのための弾力性のあるハウジング、を備えるものであり、
を備え、
前記弾力性のあるハウジングが、少なくとも部分的に、前記細長い本体の長手方向のチャンネル内に受容される照明装置。 - 前記光エンジンが、前記光エンジンを、全体的に前記細長い本体の長手方向の軸に垂直な方向に移動させることによって、前記長手方向のチャンネルから選択的に除去可能である、請求項19に記載の装置。
- 前記細長い本体が、少なくとも1つの実質的に平面の面に遷移する湾曲した面によって規定される光放射面を含む、請求項19に記載の装置。
- 前記柔軟なハウジングが光放射面を含み、前記光ガイドが前記光放射面に対して相補的(complementary)な形状を有する光入力面を含む請求項19に記載の装置。
- 前記柔軟なハウジングの前記光放射面が、前記光ガイドの前記光入力面に隣接する(abuts)、請求項22に記載の装置。
- 前記柔軟なハウジングが、少なくとも実質的に前記チャンネルを充填するような寸法にされる、請求項19に記載の装置。
- 前記細長い本体及び前記光エンジンが、互いに協動して、少なくとも実質的に、前記本体の長手方向の軸に垂直に、その最も大きい大きさ(dimension)を有する光パターンを生成するようにされる、請求項19に記載の装置。
