撤去補助器具の使用の様子を側面から見た模式図である図6に示すように、まず袋体14を平置きにしその底部にフォーク体12の各櫛12aおよび倒した状態の押え体16の各櫛16aを突き通し、フォーク体12の下側に位置する枠体18の先端部に一定間隔(10cm間隔程度)で3箇所程度袋体下面の開口部を粘着テープなどを用いて仮止めしてやる(図6(a))。それから袋体14をフォーク体12および押え体16の櫛12a,16aの根元側(握り手側)に手繰り寄せて蛇腹状に纏め、枠体18を押し縮めた状態でフックに掛け止めることで保持してやる(図6(b))。
この状態で撤去補助器具10のフォーク体12を鳥の巣4の底部側に突き刺した後に押え体16を倒して鳥の巣を挟み込んでやる(図6(c))。そして撤去補助器具10によって鳥の巣4を少し持ち上げた後に(図6(d))、フックに掛け止めた枠体18を開放し、枠体18の弾性力によって袋体14を鳥の巣の底面下方に押し広げてやる(図6(e))。それから鳥の巣4を手元側に引き寄せてから、袋体14の上面を押し広げて鳥の巣を包み込み、袋体の切れ込み14cを粘着テープなどによって閉じてやる。最後に、フォーク体12から袋体14ごと鳥の巣4を引き抜き、袋体の開口部を粘着テープなどによって閉じることで鳥の巣の撤去が行われる(図6(f))。
