Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a surge absorbing element that prevents damage to an electronic device by absorbing a surge such as an induced lightning using a discharge phenomenon in a discharge gap between a plurality of discharge electrodes enclosed in an airtight envelope. And its manufacturing method.
As a discharge tube that can be suitably used for this type of surge absorbing element, the present applicant has previously proposed Utility Model Registration No. 3125265.
As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, the

By the way, the
In this case, the discharge start voltage includes not only the DC discharge start voltage but also the impulse discharge start voltage. The impulse discharge start voltage refers to a discharge start voltage when an impulse (surge) current is applied.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described conventional problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a surge absorbing element that can suppress variations in discharge start voltages (DC discharge start voltage and impulse discharge start voltage) and a method for manufacturing the same. Is to realize.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a long-life discharge surge absorbing element capable of suppressing deterioration of discharge characteristics caused by adhering impure gas to the surface of a discharge electrode or coating, and a method for manufacturing the same. There is.
In order to achieve the above object, a surge absorbing element according to the present invention is a discharge tube in which a plurality of discharge electrodes are arranged with a discharge gap and sealed together with a discharge gas in an airtight envelope. A film containing titanium carbide and molybdenum silicide is formed on the surface of the discharge electrode.
As said titanium carbide, it is preferable to use what was baked at 100-1000 degreeC.
Moreover, the manufacturing method of the surge absorption element which concerns on this invention mixes the titanium carbide powder baked at 100-1000 degreeC, the molybdenum silicide powder, the binder which consists of a sodium silicate solution, and a pure water, and this mixture is discharged. The coating is formed by coating on the surface of the electrode.
It is preferable to mix the titanium carbide powder, the molybdenum silicide powder, and the binder while applying ultrasonic vibration.
In the surge absorbing element of the present invention, the discharge start voltage (DC discharge start voltage and impulse discharge start voltage) varies due to the formation of a film containing titanium carbide and molybdenum silicide on the surface of the discharge electrode. It is possible to realize a surge absorbing element that can suppress the above.
In addition, when titanium carbide baked at 100 to 1000 ° C. that exhibits an excellent getter effect is used, impure gas contained in the discharge gas or impure gas mixed in the sealing process of the hermetic envelope The titanium carbide obtained by firing at 100 to 1000 ° C. is adsorbed and fixed inside thereof, and impure gas is prevented from adhering to the discharge electrode and the coating surface. As a result, the deterioration of the discharge characteristics due to the impure gas adhering to the surface of the discharge electrode or coating is suppressed, and a long-life surge absorbing element can be realized.
The coating film is formed by mixing titanium carbide powder fired at 100 to 1000 ° C., molybdenum silicide powder, a binder made of sodium silicate solution and pure water, and applying the mixture to the surface of the discharge electrode. It is possible to mix the titanium carbide powder, the molybdenum silicide powder, and the binder while applying ultrasonic vibration, and the titanium carbide powder and the molybdenum silicide powder can be uniformly stirred in the binder. The properties of the coating after application to the surface are stabilized.
As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a

In the
Thus, the
The reason is as follows. The discharge start voltage greatly depends on the application state of the

In addition, you may use the titanium carbide formed by baking at 100-1000 degreeC which exhibits the outstanding getter effect as said titanium carbide.

Further, the titanium carbide powder is fired at 100 to 1000 ° C. in the air or in vacuum. By performing this firing, titanium carbide has an excellent getter effect.
