Abstract
【解決手段】 加工物100のレーザ照射位置12に、レーザ発振装置20から波長1.2μm以上で液体への吸収率の大きいレーザ、例えば、CO2レーザを液体31を通って照射し、液体中に発生する微細な泡の進行流13の泡中に生ずる高圧力により、溶融ドロスを飛散させて、岩石100に穿孔等の加工を施す。

Description
(a)岩石を液中に沈めておく
(b)岩石と対面する面が開放した液体保持容器を岩石面上に貼着し、この容器内に液体を供給しこの液体中を通ってレーザビームを照射位置に照射する
(c)レーザ照射位置に向って液体噴射ノズル等を設け、液体を供給する
(d)レーザ伝送手段の先端に照射方向に開口したジャケット等を取付け、このジャケットに液体を連続的に供給する
などの手段を採ればよい。

使用したレーザは次の通りである。
レーザ波長: 10.5μm
レーザ出力: 5kW
液体: 水、ベントナイト溶液4重量%(不透明)の2種類
レーザ照射方向:対象物の上面
図5に模式的に示す装置を用いて、レーザを2分照射した。照射後、粉砕したドロスの微粉が水中又はベントナイト溶液中に分散したことが認められた。照射後、花崗岩に直径約15mm、最大深さ約50mmの孔が穿孔されたことを確認した。

Claims (4)
- レーザ照射位置に液体を介在させ、波長1.2μm以上のレーザを照射し、溶融ドロスを飛散させて岩石を加工することを特徴とするレーザを用いた岩石の加工方法。
- 前記レーザは、半導体レーザ、CO2レーザ、COレーザ、Er−YAGレーザ及びHo−YAGレーザからなる群から選ばれた何れかのレーザであることを特徴とする請求項1記載のレーザを用いた岩石の加工方法。
- レーザ照射位置に液体を存在させる液体供給手段と、該液体中を通って岩石の表面にレーザを照射する波長1.2μm以上のレーザ照射装置とから成ることを特徴とするレーザを用いた岩石の加工装置。
- 前記レーザ照射装置はレーザ伝送媒体として弗化ガラスファイバ又はカルコゲン化物ガラスファイバを用いることを特徴とする請求項3記載のレーザを用いた岩石の加工装置。
