JP 2004-284399 A

The front cowl of a motorcycle has a role of rectifying traveling wind to reduce air resistance during traveling of the motorcycle. For example, if there is a gap between the front cowl and the headlight device, There was a possibility that the intruding wind could affect the rectification of the front cowl. In addition, when the optical axis is adjusted between the front cowl and the headlamp device, this gap increases, and in particular, when adjusting in the vertical direction, the gap between the front cowl and the left and right sides of the headlamp device increases. become. However, Patent Document 1 does not disclose or suggest any structure relating to a structure that reduces the influence of traveling wind entering the gap between the front cowl and the headlamp device.

An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problems of the prior art and to provide a motorcycle headlamp device that can reduce the influence of traveling wind entering between the front cowl and the headlamp device. It is in.

In order to achieve the above-described object, the present invention includes a housing that supports a bulb as a light emission source, and a lens that is engaged with the housing and transmits light emitted from the bulb, and is provided on a front cowl of a motorcycle. In the headlamp device to be mounted, the headlamp device is disposed so that at least a part of the lens is looked outward from an opening formed in the front cowl, and is mounted on the front cowl. On the other hand, it is attached to the front cowl so that the optical axis can be adjusted in the vertical direction, and extending portions extending in the vehicle width direction are provided on both side surfaces of the headlight device in the vehicle width direction. Has the first feature.

In addition, the headlamp device is attached so that the front cowl and the lens form a continuous surface having continuity on the surface side of the front cowl, and the extension portion includes the front cowl The second feature is that it is configured so as not to be seen from the outside of the cowl.

Further, the third feature is that the extending portion is formed in a vertically long shape in the vertical direction.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, the headlamp device is disposed so that at least a part of the lens is looked outward from an opening formed in the front cowl, and the headlight device is vertically oriented with respect to the front cowl. It is attached to the front cowl so that the optical axis can be adjusted, and the extension part extending in the vehicle width direction is provided on both side surfaces in the vehicle width direction of the headlamp device, so the optical axis can be adjusted vertically It is possible to reduce the influence of traveling wind that enters from the gap between the front cowl and the left and right side surfaces of the headlamp device that occurs when the vehicle is operated. As a result, it is possible to prevent the traveling characteristics of the motorcycle from changing due to the traveling wind entering from the gap, or the moisture from entering with the traveling wind to affect the electrical equipment and the like.

According to the second invention, the headlamp device is attached on the surface side of the front cowl so that the front cowl and the lens form a flush surface having continuity, and the extending portion is Since it is configured so that it is not visible from the outside of the front cowl, it is possible to reduce the influence of driving wind entering from the gap without impairing the appearance of the front cowl, and to enhance the motorcycle's luxury and merchandise It becomes.

According to the third aspect of the present invention, it is possible to make it difficult for air entering from the gap between the front cowl and the headlamp device to pass into the vehicle body by forming the extending portion in a vertically long shape.

Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a side view of a motorcycle 1 to which a headlight device according to an embodiment of the present invention is attached. A head pipe 3 that rotatably supports a pair of left and right front forks 4 is joined to the front side of the body frame 2 of the motorcycle 1. A front wheel WF is rotatably supported at the lower end of the front fork 4 that can be steered by the handle 15. An engine 6 that is operated by combustion of an air-fuel mixture generated from air and fuel sucked through an air cleaner 7 is suspended below the vehicle body frame 2. It is discharged from the muffler 14 attached to the side. Further, the swing arm 12 that rotatably supports the rear wheel WR is swingable about the pivot shaft 16 by being suspended by the rear cushion 11, and the rotational driving force of the engine 6 is the drive chain. 13 is transmitted to the rear wheel WR. A fuel tank 5 is attached above the engine 6, and a seating seat 8 and a seat cowl 9 are disposed behind the fuel tank 5. At the rear end of the seat cowl 9, a tail lamp unit 10 that integrally accommodates a tail lamp and a rear direction indicator lamp is attached.

A front cowl 20 is supported on the front side of the vehicle body of the handle 15 by a cowl stay (not shown) coupled to the front portion of the head pipe 3. The front cowl 20 includes a wind screen 22 that rectifies traveling wind, a pair of left and right front direction indicators 30L and 30R (see FIG. 2 for the right side), and a head as a headlamp device according to an embodiment of the present invention. A light unit 21 is attached.

FIG. 2 is a front view of the front cowl 20. The same reference numerals as those described above denote the same or equivalent parts. The front cowl 20 is formed of a thin plate member such as a synthetic resin, and the headlight unit 21 having the bulb 23 as a light source is inserted into the opening provided at the approximate center of the front cowl 20 from the back side. By mounting in such a manner, the lens as the light emitting unit is configured to be looked out of the front cowl 20. Further, when the headlight unit 21 is attached, there is no step between the lens and the front cowl 20, and both are formed so as to form a substantially smooth continuous surface. The appearance of the cowl 20 is enhanced, and the high-class feeling and merchantability of the motorcycle 1 are improved. However, as will be described later, when the optical axis of the headlight unit 21 can be adjusted vertically with respect to the front cowl 20, the left and right side surfaces of the front cowl 20 and the headlight unit 21 are adjusted by adjusting the optical axis. The gap 41 may become larger. The headlight unit 21 according to the present embodiment is characterized in that extending portions 40 are formed on both side surfaces in the vehicle width direction in order to reduce the influence of traveling wind due to the gap 41.

A position light 24 elongated in the vehicle width direction is disposed on the upper part of the headlight unit 21, and a wind screen 22 formed of a colorless and transparent acrylic plate or the like is provided with a pair of left and right front mounting stays 28 and a rear mounting. The stay 29 is fixed to four bosses (see FIG. 3) formed on the back side of the front cowl 20. The front direction indicator lamps 30L and 30R disposed on the left and right sides of the headlight unit 21 are attached so that a surface substantially flush with the front cowl 20 is formed on the front side of the vehicle body. The front cowl 20 is attached to a cowl stay (not shown) by a pair of left and right mounting stays 26 formed on the back side thereof and a mounting stay 27 formed at the lower end.

3 is a rear view of the front cowl 20 with the headlight unit 21 attached, and FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the headlight unit 21 as a single unit. The same reference numerals as those described above denote the same or equivalent parts. As shown in FIG. 3, an opening 24 a in which the position light 24 is accommodated is formed in the upper portion of the headlight unit 21. Further, on the left and right of the opening 24a, there are a front boss 32 engaged with a front mounting stay 28 (see FIG. 2) of the windscreen 22 and a rear boss 31 engaged with a rear mounting stay 29. Is provided. In addition, a through-hole 35 for passing a socket that supports the winker valve is formed at the attachment location of the front direction indicator lights 30L and 30R. Note that an OO line in the figure is a horizontal line passing through the center of the valve 23.

The headlight unit 21 is configured such that a housing 34 that supports the bulb 23 is covered with a colorless and transparent lens 25, and a rubber cover 33 that covers a mounting portion of the bulb 23 is provided on the rear side of the housing 34. It is attached. A pair of left and right support stays 36a are provided on the upper portion of the housing 34, and the headlight unit 21 is attached so as to be suspended by a support portion 36 provided on the back side of the front cowl 20. Yes. As a result, the headlight unit 21 can swing within a predetermined range around the support portion 36, that is, it is possible to adjust the optical axis in the vertical direction, and is disposed at the lower end portion of the housing 34. Fine adjustment can be performed by an optical axis adjustment mechanism 37 incorporating a screw mechanism. As described above, in the headlight unit 21 according to the present embodiment, the extending portions 40 that are thin and vertically long are provided on both side surfaces of the housing 34 in the vehicle width direction. There is a feature in that. Since the extended portion 40 is formed at the end portion on the back side of the housing 34, it does not appear from the outer side of the front cowl 20.

5 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA in FIG. The same reference numerals as those described above denote the same or equivalent parts. Thick arrows in the figure show an example of the flow of the traveling wind 100 during traveling. As described above, a slight gap 41 is necessary between the both ends of the headlight unit 20 in the vehicle width direction and the opening end of the front cowl 20 in order to adjust the optical axis of the headlight unit 21. . At this time, if no obstacle is provided on the rear side of the vehicle body in the gap 41, the traveling wind 100 enters the front cowl 20 from the gap 41 and affects the rectification state of the front cowl 20, and also travels. There is a possibility that the air resistance at the time increases or the handling of the motorcycle 1 is affected. In addition, if moisture from rain or the like enters with the traveling wind 100, it may adversely affect electrical equipment. On the other hand, in the headlight unit 21 according to the present embodiment, the extending portion 40 that protrudes on both sides in the vehicle width direction is provided, so that the traveling wind 100 entering from the gap 41 is greatly reduced. It becomes possible.

The extending portion 40 does not come into contact with the rear surface side of the front cowl 20 even when the headlight unit 21 is swung within the range of optical axis adjustment, and the amount of the traveling wind 100 entering from the gap 41 does not change greatly. It is configured as follows. The extending portion 40 may be configured such that a separate part is attached to the housing 34 or may be formed integrally with the end portion of the lens 25. The shape of the extending portion 40 may be the shape of the headlight unit 21 or the gap. The size can be appropriately changed according to the size of 41.

As described above, according to the headlight device for a motorcycle according to the present invention, the extension portion is provided on both sides of the headlight unit in the vehicle width direction, thereby entering from the gap between the front cowl and the headlight. Driving wind can be reduced. As a result, it is possible to prevent the running characteristics of the motorcycle from changing due to the running wind entering from the gap, and preventing moisture from entering and affecting the electrical equipment.
