Abstract
Description
本発明は、繊維絶縁に係り、より具体的には、無機または有機繊維を含む実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのダクトライナーに、好ましくはプラスチック含有結合繊維がバインダー材料であるところのホルムアルデヒドフリーのプラスチック含有結合繊維に関する。
ダクトおよび導管は、ビルの加熱、換気およびエアコンディショニング(HVAC)システムにおいて空気を運ぶために使用されている。多くの用途、特に商業的および工業的建造物において、ダクトは、フレキシブルな熱および音絶縁材料でライニングされている。ライニングは、ダクトの仕事の熱効率を増大させ、ダクトの中を通る空気の動きにまつわるノイズを減少させる。ダクトライナーは、いずれもの好適な有機または無機材料、例えばガラス繊維絶縁のような鉱物材料から構成することができる。典型的なガラス繊維ダクトライナーは、例えば、立方フィート当り(pcf)約1.5〜3ポンドの密度と約0.5〜2インチの厚さを有するガラス繊維マットとして構成される。
本発明の1つの側面によると、実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのダクトライナー、およびそのダクトライナーの製造方法が開示される。本発明の1つの態様によるダクトライナーは、バージンの織物用ガラス繊維であり得る少なくとも1種の繊維成分と、これにブレンドされた、繊維成分の少なくとも一部を結合して、その体積にわたって実質的に均一な密度を有するホルムアルデヒドフリーのダクトライナーを生成させる非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーを含む。
本発明の1つの側面によると、実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのダクトライナーは、少なくとも1種の繊維成分を少なくとも1種の非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーとブレンドすることによって形成される。ホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーは、プラスチック含有結合繊維であるか、フェノール−ホルムアルデヒドタイプのバインダー以外の粉末バインダーであり得る。最終製品におけるプラスチック含有結合繊維もしくは他のバインダーまたはそれらの組合せは、最終製品の約10〜30重量%、好ましくは12〜25重量%、より好ましくは約15〜20重量%である。
以下の非限定的な例は、本発明をさらに説明するものである。本発明の1つの態様に従って作られた1.5pcfの密度を有するホルムアルデヒドフリーのガラス繊維ダクトライナーの1インチ厚の試料が作られた。
Claims (89)
- 実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのダクトライナー(10)であって、
繊維成分(60、62)、および
前記繊維成分(60、62)の少なくとも一部を互いに結合する非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダー(70、72)を含み、該ダクトライナー(10)は、その体積に渡って実質的に均一な密度を有するダクトライナー。 - 前記非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダー(70、72)が、前記ダクトライナー(10)における実質的に唯一のバインダーである請求項1に記載のダクトライナー(10)。
- 前記繊維成分(60、62)が、バージン織物用ガラス繊維を含む請求項1に記載のダクトライナー(10)。
- 前記繊維成分(60、62)が、バージン織物用ガラス繊維、バージンロータリーガラス繊維、木材繊維、麻繊維、セルロース繊維、またはそれらの組合せを含む請求項1または2に記載のダクトライナー(10)。
- 前記織物用ガラス繊維が、約1〜20マイクロメートルの平均繊維径を有する請求項3または4に記載のダクトライナー(10)。
- 前記織物用ガラス繊維が、約5〜16マイクロメートルの平均繊維径を有する請求項3〜5に記載のダクトライナー。
- 前記織物用ガラス繊維が、約1〜20cmの平均繊維長を有する請求項3〜6に記載のダクトライナー。
- 前記織物用ガラス繊維が、約2.5〜12.5cmの平均繊維長を有する請求項3〜7に記載のダクトライナー。
- 前記非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーが、前記ダクトライナーの約10〜30重量%である請求項1〜8のダクトライナー。
- 前記非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーが、前記ダクトライナーの約12〜25重量%である請求項1〜9のダクトライナー。
- 前記非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーが、前記ダクトライナーの約15〜20重量%である請求項1〜10のダクトライナー。
- 前記非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーが、プラスチック含有結合繊維を含み、前記繊維成分および前記プラスチック含有結合繊維が、均一にブレンドされ、前記プラスチック含有結合繊維のプラスチックの一部により互いに結合されている請求項1〜11のダクトライナー。
- 前記プラスチック含有結合繊維が、二成分ポリマー繊維を含む請求項12に記載のダクトライナー。
- 前記プラスチック含有結合繊維が、一成分ポリマー繊維を含む請求項12または13に記載のダクトライナー。
- 前記プラスチック含有結合繊維が、プラスチック塗布鉱物繊維を含む請求項12または14に記載のダクトライナー。
- 前記非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーが、熱可塑性または熱硬化性粉末バインダーを含む請求項1〜15に記載のダクトライナー。
- 前記ダクトライナーが、約16〜56kg/m3の密度を有する請求項1〜16に記載のダクトライナー。

第1の側面および第2の側面を有する最終マットを備え、前記マットが、
繊維成分と、
前記繊維成分の少なくとも一部を互いに結合させる非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーと、
前記2つの側面の少なくとも一方に結合した上張り層を含み、前記ダクトライナーは、その体積にわたって実質的に均一な密度を有するダクトライナー。 - 前記非液体の実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのバインダーが、前記ダクトライナーにおける実質的に唯一のバインダーである請求項32に記載のダクトライナー。

前記マットと前記上張り層とを加熱して実質的にホルムアルデヒドフリーのダクトライナーを形成する工程
