Abstract
Description
触媒が硫化された場合は、形状選択的中孔径貴金属含有モレキュラーシーブ触媒の水素化異性化の選択性(分解反応に対して異性化反応が優先する)が改善されることを見出した。本発明によれば、この触媒は、水素化異性化反応の前に、又は反応中に硫化することができる。貴金属は、腐食又は酸化に抵抗性のある任意の金属である。貴金属を含有する触媒は、貴金属を含有する任意の触媒である。貴金属触媒は、白金、パラジウム、及びこれらの混合物を含む。
本発明による水素化異性化法に有用な供給原料は、ガス油、潤滑油原料、合成油、フィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のワックス、オリゴマー化フィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のオレフィン、ワックス下油、粗ワックス、脱油ワックス、直鎖α−オレフィンワックス、微晶ワックス、及びこれらの混合物を含めたワックス質炭化水素である。好ましい供給原料は、フィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のワックス、粗ワックス、脱油ワックス、直鎖α−オレフィンワックス、及びオリゴマー化フィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のオレフィンである。特に好ましい供給原料はフィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のワックスである。
本発明のワックス質炭化水素供給原料は、好ましくはフィッシャー−トロプシュワックス質供給原料から誘導される。
本発明によれば、ワックス質炭化水素供給原料は、硫化された形状選択的中孔径貴金属含有モレキュラーシーブ触媒を用いた水素化異性化法にかけられる。水素化異性化は、分子構造への分枝の選択的付加により、潤滑基油の低温流動性を改善することが意図される。水素化異性化は、理想的には、分解による転換を最小限に抑えて、ワックス質炭化水素供給原料の非ワックス様イソ−パラフィンへの高転化率を達成する。

[式中、「M」は、アルミニウム及びリン以外の少なくとも1種の元素を表し、これは、結晶性モレキュラーシーブ中でAlO2及びPO2酸化物構造単位と共に四面体配位の酸化物を形成することが可能であり;
「x」、「y」、及び「z」は、それぞれ、元素「M」、アルミニウム、及びリンのモル分率を表し、但し「x」は、ゼロ(0)以上、「y」及び「z」は、それぞれが少なくとも0.01の値を有する]を有するAlO2、及びPO2四面体酸化物単位の三次元ミクロ孔網状構造により特徴付けられる。
本発明によれば、水素化異性化法により製造された潤滑基油の少なくとも一部を溶剤脱ワックスすることができる。溶剤脱ワックス技法は当技術分野で知られている。溶剤脱ワックスは、メチルエチルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン、又はトルエンなどの溶媒中にワックス質成分を溶解し;ワックス質成分を沈殿させ、次いで、ワックス質成分をろ過により除去することにより、残留するワックス質分子も除去するために用いることができる。溶剤脱ワックスは、「石油の化学的技術(Chemical Technology of Petroleum)」、第3版、William Gruse及びDonald Stevens著、(McGraw Hill、ニューヨーク、1960)、566〜570頁に論じられている。米国特許第4477333号、第3773650号、及び第3775288号も参照されたい。
ハイドロトリーティング及びハイドロフィニッシングは、本発明の方法に含めることもできる任意選択の処理ステップである。ハイドロトリーティングは、水素化異性化の前に、ワックス質炭化水素供給原料に行うことができる。ハイドロトリーティングとは、通常、遊離水素の存在下で実施される触媒プロセスを意味し、その主たる目的は、供給原料から、ヒ素などの種々の金属汚染物、イオウ及び窒素などのヘテロ原子、及び芳香族化合物を除去することである。一般に、ハイドロトリーティングステップでは、炭化水素分子が分解する(すなわち、より大きな分子がより小さなものに切断されること)量を最小限に抑えることが望ましい。ハイドロトリーティング中は、不飽和炭化水素が完全に又は部分的に水素化される。本発明の方法へのワックス質炭化水素供給原料は、水素化異性化に先立ってハイドロトリーティングをしてもよい。
本発明の方法に使用されるワックス質炭化水素供給原料は、オリゴマー化フィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のオレフィンを含むことができる。フィッシャー−トロプシュ合成が実施される条件に応じて、フィッシャー−トロプシュ凝縮物は異なる量のオレフィンを含有する。さらに、ほとんどのフィッシャー−トロプシュ凝縮物は、脱水によりオレフィンに容易に転換し得るいくらかのアルコールを含有する。すでに言及したように、この凝縮物も、分解操作を介して、好ましくは熱分解によりオレフィンに富んでいる。本発明の一実施形態では、これらのオレフィンは、フィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のオレフィンをもたらすためにオリゴマー化することができる。オリゴマー化の間に、より軽質のオレフィンがより重質分子に転換されるのみならず、オリゴマーの炭素骨格は、分子が付加される場所で分枝を示す。分子中への分枝の導入により、生成物の流動点が低下する。
本発明の方法により作製された潤滑基油は、潤滑基油の粘度指数及び流動点を特徴とするように、高品質なものである。すなわち、この潤滑基油は、高粘度、低流動点、及び例外的に高いVIを有する。
本発明の潤滑基油は、単独で使用してもよく、或いは、従来のグループI基油、従来のグループII基油、従来のグループIII基油、異性化石油ワックス、ポリαオレフィン(PAO)、ポリ内部オレフィン(PIO)、ジエステル、ポリオールエステル、ホスフェートエステル、アルキル化芳香族化合物、及びこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される追加の基油とブレンドしてもよい。
潤滑基油は、完成潤滑剤の最も重要な成分であり、一般に、完成潤滑剤の70%超を構成する。完成潤滑剤は、潤滑基油及び少なくとも1種の添加剤を含有する。完成潤滑剤は、自動車、ディーゼルエンジン、車軸、変速機、及び工業用用途に使用することができる。完成潤滑剤は、その意図した用途に対する、関係する管理組織により規定された仕様を満たさなければならない。
硫化されたSAPO触媒を使用した1000ポンド/平方インチゲージにおける水素化異性化
この実施例は、SAPO−11触媒を硫化することの影響を例示する。図1において、フィッシャー−トロプシュ由来のワックスが水素化異性化された場合に得られた650°F+収率(重量パーセント)を、3つの状況:1)SAPO11触媒が水素化異性化反応に先立って硫化されない場合、2)触媒が事前硫化された場合、及び3)触媒が2040時間操業後に再硫化された場合に対して、流動点(℃)の関数としてプロットした。それぞれ3種の実験は、1000ポンド/平方インチゲージの水素分圧で実施された。
硫化されたSAPO触媒を使用した様々な圧力における水素化異性化
2つの異なる圧力における硫化することの影響(及び、硫化しない場合の圧力の影響)を図3及び図4に示す。図3及び図4の1000ポンド/平方インチゲージ曲線は、図1及び図2のものと同じであり、言い換えれば、1000ポンド/平方インチゲージのデータを単に再プロットしたものである。水素化異性化中の水素分圧を1000から300ポンド/平方インチゲージに低下させることにより、650°F+収率が約35から68重量パーセントに増加し、約155の粘度指数が168に増加する結果になった。したがって、この実施例は、水素化異性化圧力を低下させると、水素化異性化の収率及び粘度指数が共に向上することを示す。
硫化されたゼオライト触媒を使用した水素化異性化
この実施例を実施例1に記載の通り実施したが、触媒としてはSSZ−32を使用した。図5は、硫化及び非硫化SSZ−32触媒の両方について1000ポンド/平方インチゲージで水素化異性化されたフィッシャー−トロプシュワックスからの650°F+収率(重量パーセント)を示す。この収率は約55であった(−15℃の流動点において)。同様に、この粘度指数は、約175であった。
操業中に硫化されたSAPO触媒を使用した水素化異性化
操業中の硫化のイソ対直鎖C4の比率への影響を図7に示す。この実施例では、SAPO−11触媒を、水素化異性化工程の150時間後に操業中に硫化し、イソ対直鎖C4の比率を時間の関数としてプロットした。図7は、触媒の操業中の硫化により、イソ対直鎖C4の比率が4倍を超える増加を示して、約0.2から0.8を超える増加がもたらされたことを例示する。イソ対直鎖C4の比率がより高いと、触媒による、分解反応より異性化反応の多い改善された選択性を示す。
事前硫化されたSAPO触媒を使用した水素化異性化
SAPO−11触媒の事前硫化の水素化異性化により製造された軽質炭化水素量への影響を図8に示す。反応器中の全圧は1000ポンド/平方インチゲージであり、温度は650°Fであった。直鎖C4及び直鎖C5の量はかなり減少し、イソC4及びイソC5の量の減少はそれよりはるかに少ない。
事前硫化されたSAPO触媒を使用した様々な温度の水素化異性化
図9A〜Cは、いくつかの観察された水素化異性化温度と圧力の間の関係を例示する。図9C中のグラフは、図9A及び図9Bに示された4つの運転(150、300、500、及び1000ポンド/平方インチゲージの全圧における)のそれぞれに対する流動点の関数としての水素化異性化温度のプロットであり、前者の図は、650°F+収率(重量パーセント)の結果を報告し、後者の図は、粘度指数の結果を報告している。本諸実施形態による硫化されたSAPO触媒による向上した製造収率及び粘度指数に加えて、潤滑基油を低圧で製造する利点は、水素化異性化法が、別の方法ではそうであったであろう温度よりは有意に低い操作温度で実施することができることである。
Claims (26)
- ワックス質炭化水素供給原料から潤滑基油を製造する方法であって、
a)形状選択的、中孔径、貴金属含有モレキュラーシーブ触媒を硫化して、硫化された触媒を提供するステップであって、硫化された触媒中のイオウ対貴金属のモル比は1を超えるステップと、
b)ワックス質炭化水素供給原料を水素化異性化条件で硫化された触媒と接触させることにより、ワックス質炭化水素供給原料を水素化異性化して、潤滑基油を製造するステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記硫化ステップが事前硫化ステップである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記硫化ステップが操業中の硫化ステップである、請求項1に記載の方法。
