  An insecticide formulation comprising an amount of permethrin effective as an insecticide that kills fleas and an amount of dinotefuran effective as an insecticide that kills fleas, wherein permethrin and dinotefuran are administered prior to administration of the insecticide formulation. Insecticides containing an amount of pyriproxyfen that is packed in a manner separated from dinotefuran and that has the effect of inhibiting insect growth packed with either permethrin or dinotefuran Preparation.   An insecticide formulation comprising an amount of phenothrin effective as an insecticide to kill fleas and an amount of dinotefuran effective as an insecticide to kill ticks, wherein phenothrin and dinotefuran are administered prior to administration of the insecticide formulation.
