Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a semi-melt molding method and a semi-melt molding apparatus for molding a cylinder block of an internal combustion engine.
In recent years, as aluminum parts of automobile parts have been made aluminum, cast products of aluminum alloy have been used for cylinder blocks. In such an aluminum alloy cylinder block, in order to ensure wear resistance and sliding characteristics of the bore portion, a cast iron or steel cylinder liner prepared separately is usually encased (for example, Patent Documents). 1).
By the way, conventionally, a die casting method in which a molten metal is pressurized and filled from an injection sleeve into a mold cavity has been generally employed for casting an aluminum alloy cylinder block (see Patent Document 1 above). However, in this die casting method, the molten metal oxidizes during hot water supply to the injection sleeve to generate a large amount of oxide, and air entrainment occurs during injection from the injection sleeve. Has been brought into the cavity and entered the cast product, which deteriorated the casting quality. In addition, if the design part (runner, gate, etc.) of the mold and the injection conditions are not appropriate, there is a problem that the molten metal is not replenished in the cavity and shrinkage cavities occur in the cast product. .
On the other hand, a semi-melt molding method is attracting attention as a high-quality molding technique for aluminum-based materials. In this semi-molten molding method, a metal heated to a semi-molten state, that is, a so-called semi-molten metal, is press-filled into a cavity of a mold. It has the advantage that the occurrence of nests is suppressed. Therefore, if this semi-molten forming is used for forming an aluminum alloy cylinder block, it is expected that the problems in the die casting method described above can be solved. In many cases, the semi-melt molding is performed by directly using a die casting apparatus (see, for example, Patent Document 2). In this case, a billet made of a semi-molten metal is supplied to the injection sleeve instead of the molten metal, and the injection is performed. The semi-molten metal of the billet material is pressurized and filled into the mold cavity by the advance of the piston (plunger) in the sleeve.
However, when a cylinder block is semi-melt molded using the die-casting machine as it is, a water jacket is formed in the mold, including a bore core (a cylinder liner is fitted) to form a bore. Because the core is placed, the cavity has a complicated shape, and due to the effect of temperature drop when passing through the design part, the material around the cavity (filling with semi-molten metal) tends to be insufficient, It becomes difficult to ensure desired shape accuracy.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described technical background, and the object of the present invention is to provide a cylinder block that guarantees sufficient filling of the semi-molten metal into the mold cavity and has excellent shape accuracy. It is an object of the present invention to provide a semi-melt molding method and apparatus that can be molded with high quality.
In order to solve the above-described problem, a cylinder block semi-melt molding method according to the present invention includes a cylinder liner that is externally fitted to a small-diameter portion on the distal end side of a stepped piston that is slidably mounted on an injection sleeve, and the stepped A billet made of semi-molten metal is supplied to the tip side of the piston and cylinder liner, and then the semi-molten metal of the billet material is pressurized and filled into the cavity by the advance of the stepped piston. The cylinder liner is press-fitted in, and then the piston is retracted to leave the cylinder liner as it is in the filled metal.
Further, the cylinder block semi-melt molding apparatus according to the present invention has a stepped shape having a die having a wall surface provided with an inlet directly connected to a bore forming portion in a cavity, and a small diameter portion on the tip side having the same diameter as the bore diameter. An injection device in which a piston is slidably mounted on an injection sleeve, and the injection sleeve is joined to a mold so as to be concentric with the inlet, and the stepped piston in the injection sleeve The cylinder liner and the billet made of a semi-molten metal supplied to the tip side of the small diameter portion are integrated into the mold cavity through the loading port while the cylinder liner is fitted and supported on the small diameter portion. And press-filling the semi-molten metal of the billet material into the cavity and press-fitting the cylinder liner into the filled metal.
In the semi-molten molding method and apparatus of a cylinder block according to the present invention, the trace of the stepped piston after pressurizing and filling the semi-molten metal into the cavity becomes the bore, and the cylinder liner that defines the bore inner surface is filled as it is. Since it remains in the metal, there is no need to place a bore core in the cavity in advance, so that the cavity does not have a complicated shape. Further, since the semi-molten metal of the billet material is directly pressurized and filled into the cavity by the advance of the piston in the injection sleeve, the temperature drop of the semi-molten metal can be suppressed. As a result, the periphery of the semi-molten metal in the cavity becomes smooth, the filling amount is sufficient, and the shape accuracy is ensured.
In the semi-molten molding method and apparatus, when the semi-molten metal is pressurized and filled into the cavity, the semi-molten metal may be diverted by a diverter set in the cavity facing the stepped piston or the inlet. Well, this increases the fluidity of the semi-molten metal and further improves the fillability.
In this semi-molten molding method and apparatus, the mold may have a vertically split structure or a horizontally split structure. When a vertically split structure mold is used, the injection sleeve is joined to the bottom mold. The billet may be supplied from above the lower mold and placed on the tip of the piston outside the vertical injection sleeve. In this case, since the billet does not contact the inner surface of the injection sleeve, the temperature drop of the semi-molten metal is further suppressed.
In this semi-molten molding method and apparatus, the number of cylinders provided in the cylinder block to be molded is arbitrary, and when a plurality of cylinders are required, the number of the injection devices including the injection sleeve is prepared by the number of the cylinders, At the same time, semi-molten metal is pressurized and filled into the mold cavity from each injection sleeve, and at the same time, a cylinder liner is press-fitted into the filled metal.
In addition, the material of the semi-molten metal and the cylinder liner used in the semi-molten molding method and apparatus is arbitrary, but an aluminum alloy can be selected as the semi-molten metal, and an iron-based material can be selected as the cylinder liner.
The semi-molten molding apparatus further has a configuration in which the mold inlet is set to a bush insert detachably attached to the mold body, and the bush insert has a water jacket forming core. Also good. In the case of such a configuration, it is possible to easily change the stage by simply replacing the bushing insert.
According to the semi-molten molding method and apparatus for a cylinder block according to the present invention, the filling amount of the semi-molten metal into the mold cavity can be sufficiently increased, so that a cylinder block excellent in shape accuracy is molded with high quality. can do. In addition, since the semi-molten metal of the billet material is directly pressurized and filled into the cavity, the amount of scrap generated is significantly larger than when applying a general-purpose die casting method that requires a plan part or biscuit as it is. And can achieve a significant improvement in material yield.
The best mode for carrying out the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 shows one embodiment of a semi-molten molding apparatus for a cylinder block according to the present invention. In the figure, 1 is a mold, and 20 is an injection device arranged under the mold 1. The mold 1 includes a
In this embodiment, the
The
The
The stepped
In order to perform semi-melt molding by the semi-melt molding apparatus configured as described above, a
Hereinafter, the semi-melt molding method performed by the semi-melt molding apparatus having the above configuration will be described with reference to FIGS.
At the start of semi-melt molding, the
When the above-described setting of the
Next, the stepped
Then, after completion of the filling, the stepped
Since the cylinder block obtained in this way has a sufficient filling amount of the semi-molten metal M in the cavity C, it has excellent shape accuracy. In addition, since the temperature drop of the
In the above embodiment, a single cylinder cylinder block having one cylinder has been described as an example. However, in the case of semi-melt molding a cylinder block having a plurality of cylinders, an injection sleeve having the above-described stepped
In the above embodiment, the
Further, since there is a horizontal method in which a die having a horizontally divided structure and a horizontal injection sleeve are combined in the die casting method, the present invention arranges the apparatus shown in FIG. Alternatively, the
As shown in FIG. 4, a single cylinder block W having only one cylinder portion Wa having an outer diameter D of about 80 mm was semi-melt molded using the semi-melt molding apparatus shown in FIG. Here, a cast iron liner having an inner diameter a of 50 mm, an outer diameter b of 60 mm, and a length c of 80 mm is prepared as the
